So,
m0ssb3rg935 : Said we needed more threads for the Tour de Vizzed.

Now that I have something decent to contribute, this is the question: What University did you go to / are you attending right now?

I'm currently going to Auburn University in Auburn, AL, USA. Thankfully, on the government's dime, since I could never afford it.
I'm going for my major in Computer Science.
And I'm a Freshman.

What about you guys?

I used to go to St. John's University for a while and now I go to a local Brooklyn Community College. I should be graduating in June with an associates and hopefully I will be able to be a part of a special program in September that will allow me to attend both Hunter College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the same time.

zanderlex : I remember that you were going to college before I got banned. What happened? Why did you have to switch?

thing1 : I had to switch from my first one because it was waaay too expensive, though I switched a long time ago. Already spent 4 full semesters in my current school and also took a semesters off in between. I think I left my first college like 7 months after I joined.

I'm thinking a large percentage of the active board users are still in high school or not destined to go to a university.

I graduated high school in 2000, I went into the Marines and I did mail-away and online courses from Eastern Michigan University. I did it on and off until I got married and moved to Boston in 2006. I took classes at UMass and transferred them to Eastern until I got close enough to a degree that I could take a thesis class in history. I was so good at my job, I got three hours, twice a week, to take the train down to Dorchester, transfer to a bus to school, be at school, and then do the same to get back to work. No one counted it against my PTO or my time.

Ten years later, I finished my degree. Let this be words of wisdom to everyone: Had I hustled harder early and not gotten lazy, I would have finished years earlier and had a degree with no problem. It ended up costing me a potential job and more money to drag out finishing school.

Don't be lazy, finish college, get your degree if that's something you want.

I attended a few different colleges and then filed for loan discharges after I was $35,000 in debt and without a job. So you see, not everyone who goes to college is successful.

I'm currently attending UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, roughly translated Open University of Catalonia).

It's a purely online university, which has helped me fight better my disease without affecting my studying because I'm now at home most of the time. I did try a couple semesters in a normal university, but my disease forced me to miss several days and ultimately not obtain very good grades.

It has its good things, like recording Skype chats for language class, but it's more practical than theoretical: you're more required to explore rather than reading through materials. Coupled with the very limited time some classes allow for, most of the time it means you rely on the final exam rather than the work you do through the semester, and not always it's a good strategy.

I am currently not in education, I finished secondary school (High school in America) last year - 2016 - and went straight into a job, because I am wanting to gain access to USA for education, rather than carry out my education in the UK. I finished at Kingdown Community School, Wiltshire (We don't have states, we have counties in Queen's Country) Hopefully, Harvard will accept me to study politics in the US. I know, I can never be president, but I can become part of congress, so I'll have to stay for 7 years, but my education would take 3-5.

If that can't happen, I'll probably do an apprenticeship in the UK army, become an engineer and go to war. Then, if I survive, I can then pull a Hitler and go into politics.

Suffolk County Community College. Because it's the only one I can afford. Hoping to be a Penetration Tester. I also want to develop games, but that's something I want to do on my own time. Might be taking my last class soon, then it's a matter of whether the university that already accepted me after finally remembers that they already accepted me and legally can't just forget.

I went to Georgia Perimeter College ( widely known around here as GPC ) and obtained my associate degree. GPC is only a two - year university, so I went as far as I could with them. Down the road, I am hoping to finish all the way out and get a bachelors degree. I'm just not sure how I'm going to go about doing that yet. So far, I'm thinking of taking online courses somewhere. I have never taken online before, so I'm not sure how it'll go. But I really want to eventually get a bachelors.
