I'm going to try and take a different approach this year, in stead of going out of my way to nominate someone in each category I'll only do so when I find someone who I think is particularly deserving, so a lot of these might still be empty when the voting period is over. So here we go The 2016 Zlinqx User Awards (wew) Most Famous - Davideo7 : Do I really need to explain why? No? Thought so. Most Creative - NintendoFanKimmy : Has a creative way of getting her points across and on top of that is a pretty good artist. The "red and blue" thread I think is a pretty good example of why she is a suitable pick for this award. Most Helpful - TBD Most Controversial - Sword legion : For me this was between him and On3On since I base this award on how vocal they are and how much controversyl their opinions stir (as opposed to basing it on the member themself). Though they are people who seem to be on opposite sides of the political spectrum they are both very open about their opinions and subsequently catch a lot of flack for them. In the end I think the "What you didn't know about homosexuality" and just having been more active throughout the year gives Sword legion the edge. Most Mature -Play4fun : While I haven't seen him around the forums much he still frequents the site so I'll nominate him. Despite seeming like a pretty opinionated person, he is always respectful in disagreements and generally conducts himself in a respectable manner. Best Veteran - legacyme3 : Usually Geeo would be the no brainer vote to me here but I feel like with him having been a bit less active this year and leggy seemingly being more active around the forums he deserves to win. Like him or hate him he's been part of the site for so long now and is still making contributions. That shows a lot of commitment to the site. A very honorable mention goes to Minuano. Best New Member - TBD Best Staff Member - Vanelan : With the amount of time he has invested into trying to make the site a better place I think this makes him a sure fire pick for this award. It didn't surprise me that he was picked as the new mod manager after Geeo stepped down and somehow despite all of that he still works on other staff positions. Best Female Member - Yuna1000 : Went from lurking in the shadows to a Global pretty much all in the span of this year and is on top of that the first female global in a long time. Not the most frequent poster but do tend to put a lot of thought into them and has probably contributed more than anyone else this year in terms of CP. A pretty easy pick all considered though honorable mentions go to Eniitan, ZeroTails and NintendoFanKimmy. Wisest - TBD Nicest - TBD Craziest - TBD Insomniac - Vanelan : Going back to why I voted him for best staff member I feel like a lot of people don't notice just how much time he is investing into the site while making no money from it and at the same time having a job IRL. A fairly easy pick for this award. The only other person I would say is worthy of winning it is David for obvious reasons (working both on the site and an IRL job). Meanest - Legacyme3 : Stop being so blunt, you're hurting my feelings :c Best Username - thing1 : I like usernames that are easy to make puns out of. So it was between him and A user of this but I think the Dr Seuss reference makes me slightly prefer it. Best Userpic - TBD Best Layout - TBD Best Posts - Ghostbear1111 : Though he seems to have gone inactive he has been posting a lot this year and seems to put a lot thought into his posts. He is always posting out of genuine interest in a topic or wanting to contribute to a discussion rather than to increase his post count. I can't say I always agree with his opinions but I think he deserves to be acknowledged. Best Threads - TBD Netplayer - Jordanv78 : At this point I think this award should just be renamed "Jordan's award". He has probably put more time into using netplay and playing retro games of all kinds than anyone else and could probably destroy me in almost all of them. In either case he's definitely up there and I can't think of anyone else really deserving. Giving this award to someone else would just feel wrong. Game Streamer - TBD : Probably not going to nominate anyone for this since I don't really watch streams. Reviewer - Eirinn : He hasn't written a ton of reviews this year but those he has have been very entertaining and informative to read. I guess it's to be expected that he should know a thing or two about writing them since he's one of the review managers. Though if you're reading this Eirinn, you REALLY need to work on some of your titles, simply horrible (otherwise they're good) Guide Maker - TBD Article Writer - Eirinn : The same thing applies here as with Jordan and the Netplayer award. This is basically Eirinn's award at this point. No one really comes close to him in putting out articles as frequently or putting as much work into them. The only active article writer right now, besides him is myself and I only started halfway through the year. I think it's pretty clear he deserves to win this (and very likely will). Though I still appreciate those who voted for me because they enjoy my articles. When it comes down to it I haven't read any recent reviews from you, so If I voted for you that wouldn't be accurate. It's like saying Ric Flair is my favorite WWE superstar and then someone asks me "why is ric flair your favorite, exactly?" If I give them an "I don't know" answer then that makes me look bad in that regard. I haven't even written any reviews this year, yet I currently have as many votes as I had the last vizzed awards. Most people don't tend too put too much time into all their votes so I wouldn't take any of this too seriously.
