No, you didn't read the title wrong. Donald Trump has been announced as the 45th President of the United States. This feels like a nightmare. Like, I'm just gonna wake up, and it will be all gone. But no, it's true. How did we elect this clown?

Same as with Bush, same as with Brexit. People cast angry votes without thinking about the consequences. Honest to say these are the times I'm happy I'm not American. That country almost can't get any more divided than it is now.

How did you elect this clown, you ask?

That's the exact same question we've been asking ourselves regarding our president since 2011, so welcome to the club of the most awesome idiots rising to power.

Given the above comparison, I'm sure the reason why Trump was elected is the same as here: the old aged population that wants things to be like in the "glorious" past. Yup, some people just cannot let the world evolve and progress, and the moment someone promises to return to the "good 'ol days" as a means to become president, they have earned the hearts of a considerable percentage of the population.

Just make sure you don't vote him again in the future. We did it, and even did it twice, which in the end resulted in the total obliteration of our political system. A fire always starts as an almost unnoticeable spark, you know.

I wonder when the real candidates will be revealed. Somebody needs to tell the government it is not funny anymore.

At this point.....I feel sorry for those who live in America I don't even want to ask what will happen for future generations to come. Hearing this news is quite saddening to my ears. There will be some who are happy, some who are upset, others who would have mixed feelings about this while a whole lot of people wouldn't know what to do since it would be a shocking thing.

lol, well unlike everyone here that has been drinking the kool aid and listening to the ClintonNewsNetwork
too long I can see that this is a great time for America and in fact the world.

Good job America for voting for the best candidate rather then just voting to have a female president,
it wouldn't have been something to be proud of if your first female president was a criminal.

Seriously, a lot of you need to wake up to the truth, Hillary is a criminal,
feminism isn't about equality, and men aren't demons, even if they make some crude jokes.

Stop being offended all the time and congratulate President Trump on a race well run,
and unlike his opponent he didn't have to rely on lies and mudslinging to get there

I couldn't stand Hillary Clinton, I just couldn't. The woman was literally wanting to go to war against Russia and the likes.

If you thought that Clinton was gonna win, I'm afraid you've been drinking too much of her Koolaid. The Vast Majority didn't want Hillary in office,  and sure while Trump isn't the best option for office(imo); It's a fact that people wanted Trump in office over Hillary any day.

Hillary kept relying on the Social Media and kept being far too cocky over this thing, and in the end it came back to bite her.

Trump had major, and I do mean major support.  The Polls tell you everything you need to know in that regard.
So, Even though I would've preferred someone like Jill Stein to take office, I'll settle for Donald Trump.

Go dislike my comment below if you want, I'll live with Trump being president for the next 4 years.

I've been about Anti-Trump as one could be, and if I could vote, I would have voted Jill Stein or Hillary. However, I am pleasantly surprised that Trump showed class for once in his presidential victory speech. He congratulated and gave credit to Hillary and her campaign. If he acts like that during his tenure as president, things might not be so bad .

Another thing that I feel wasn't talked about much was the fact that we had such low expectations for these two candidates that it'd be impossible for them to worse than we thought. It can only go up.

SuperCrash64 : I've never seen Trump winning as an endorsement of Trump but more as a rejection of Clinton.

I don't see a lot of great stuff from either candidate but to me this is a rejection of the political elitism that has stifled Washington from doing anything good for a long time.

There is a lot of potential for Trump to screw things up and I worry that he might just do that but I also see him as the shake-up that US Federal politics needed. If Trump can win that means anyone can win and that makes people in Washington feel a bit less comfortable and I'm okay with that.

DarkHyren :

I think it has less to do with people actually liking Hillary and in stead considering her the lesser of two evils. It's the same reason a lot of people voted for Trump (not really liking him or even considering him a good candidate, but considering him the lesser of two evils). From what I can tell these two have both been the most universally hated candidates in the US presidential race for a very long time, possibly ever.

I also wouldn't say Donald has been entirely truthful as one could argue he uses a lot of false statistics to back up his claims. Either way from what I've seen most criticisms towards him have less to do with that, and more him not really having much moral character as in being racist, sexist, having a shady past etc. (which I'm not necessarily saying is true) and just using questionable logic in his reasoning. He does also promise a lot of great things, like in his recent victory speech, but more often than not, doesn't really detail how he's going to achieve those things all at once.

Now that he's actually president though (and on top of that has a mainly republican senate and house of representatives to back him up) we will see if he can make good on his promises.

I just hope that orange peel finds a sense of responsibility- keeps his mouth shut and reads scripts from actual politicians, sees a psychiatrist to help him get over his obsession with walls, learned a thing or two about not going to Chapter 11 all the time, and hopefully he does a great job and does make America Great by focusing on the real issues and provides real solutions not  just the blah blah blah he's being doing without actually presenting a concrete plan broken down with real contributions and results for our economy.

I did not vote for Hillary Clinton either. I think they are both morons who have no idea what Make America Great means- it's not sending immigrants back home or going to war with Russia. If we start with any of those two then, we'll have a hell of years coming.

This was by far one of the most entertaining reality shows in history. I'm sure other countries had a good laugh. Can only imagine what next election will be like- perhaps we'll have a Pimp and a Prostitute going against each other. That too should be fun to watch. -__-'

Hopefully decades from now at the very least,  serving in the Army and being eloquent becomes a requirement to RUN for president. But, that's too much to ask for or so it seems.

Oh,boy....I'm still not quite convinced that this actually happened. I'm not looking forward to living in an America governed by Trump to say the least. I guess the best I can hope for is that he at least pretends to know what he's doing.I agree that, for a lot of people, the election was really more of a choice of "who's the lesser of two evils"? That said,I really didn't think Trump was the lesser in this case.

I know many are upset that Clinton lost. I am glad that the criminal lost. Trump may not be the best choice, but he is the lesser of two evils. Now,Trump has to deliver change like he said he would. You have 4 years,Trump, make them count.

For those that are upset, the people were tired of business as usual. And they spoke loudly and wanted change. We gave someone that had no business being a President 8 years, and most of us paid for it. Let's give him a chance, people. Let us see if he can do what he said he wants to do. If he fails,we can vote him out.

Precisely my point.

I wasn't saying Trump was endorsed at all.   If you wanna talk about someone being Endorsed that would be the Media and Hillary's relationship(Aka Hillary paying the media to make Trump look good, and then make Trump look bad so she'd take him down)

Hillary had all of the public media behind her and when anything bad about Trump got out;  Channels like CNN would beat that like a horse because they were trying to make Hillary look good.

The things that messed up Hillary Clinton was the fact that stuff like WikiLeaks kept well you know"leaking" stuff that was hidden that would've skewed or inflated Hillary's chances in the election and due to even more circumstances a lot of people didn't trust her.

So it's like you said,  People didn't endorse Trump; they rejected Clinton.

Truth be told If people weren't so concerned about "Who's to trust' Over "What's our main issues" Then we'd probably have Jill Stein and Garry Johnson running for President.

People vote and it's their choice; whether they have a good reason to vote or not doesn't really matter as it's their individual rights.

People make good decisions, people make bad decisions, and then people make okay decisions.

But at the end of the day, we're stuck with what we've got.

And to be fair, it's not like this is the first time we got someone elected that we didn't want to be president. *Hello George W. Bush*

I'm not Nostradamus or anything but I predict:
- Hillary will not be locked up in jail
- No wall will be made
- No one will give a f*** about veterans
- Illegal aliens won't be deported
- Radical Islamic Terrorists will be bigger threat than ever before
- Our trade deals will be a disaster because no one will want to trade with us anymore

jlove92 : Just curious about your last statement, why should having served in the army be a requirment? Also how would one set the bar or be able to measure "eloquence" for that matter. I may not like Donald Trump but if he's able to convey his message to people in a way that is clear to them I would think that's a good thing. How eloquent someone is, would probably not change what most people value in a candidate.

I'm just wondering what your reason for thinking that is, not looking for a debate.

Zlinqx :  I think that serving in the Army should be necessary because it is often seeing as the ultimate act of patriotism. I've met quite a few of veterans (for some reason in Ocala, FL there's tons of them) and I've had some good conversations with them and to me the idea of the President being able to make decisions on the Armed Forces is a very big responsibility - ideally for me, a President should have made that sacrifice, go through that experience and learn what those people go through first hand but, also use that training to be stronger, more disciplined and tactical all of which could be more beneficial to us in the long run.

To put it in better terms, I hate for an "outsider" to come to my job and be the boss and say you do this and that yet that person has never spent a day in our shoes doing the tasks that he so deliberately governs over. (trying to explain it in a way that makes sense)

Eloquence in itself cannot be measured but, in better terms, candidates should have taken Political Science or some higher level of education that will give them the best tools when directing a nation, and dealing with different cultures and nations because to have candidates like the both we just had could be very detrimental to us- I am nervous to see either one hold a conversation with Putin or any other leader. The simplest things can send us to war so it should be important to ensure that our candidates are able to be politicians, diplomats, and effective communicators- they cannot go around talking like you and I do- we're not in the public eye and we do not represent an entire nation on its own.

To further explain, we should be able to examine our candidates and say this person is not eloquent or cannot effectively communicate without making the other nations want to bomb us lol. Basically, we should demand more experience from our candidates in more than just one area- if we're picky when we go eat in a restaurant why should we not be picky when it comes to who may become our next President? I don't like the idea that we have to settle for A and B and that's all we have and most people won't bother with an option C and the media does not help in that aspect but, if we changed requirements perhaps we can change how these major parties choose who represents them and maybe our A and B option won't suck as bad.

Let's just hope he is a one and done president but we are definitely flipping house control to blue in 2018. AND!!!! Let's not forget about that Simpsons episode where Lisa is president and has to clean up Trump's mess.
