Ok so winter is here for most of us, or almost here. How do you keep warm from the cold weather either indoors or outside? For me I put on a jumper, robe my hat warm socks, and glove too. With my flask filled with herbal tea this is for when I am inside my house. When I have to go out outside to a place here is what I wear to keep myself as warm as possible. Wear 2 layers of leggings or 3, warm tights, trousers ones my brother wears which keeps me warm. For my upper body part I wear 3 vests then a jumper over it. I would then put on my muffler, coat, hat, scarf, and lastly gloves. I only wear my trainers since it would help keep my feet warm. So that's basically it for me lol. My body can't stand the cold so I do what is necessary to keep my heat on my body up. So what about you guys?

For me I usually put on a Biker Jacket, it's a really high quality jacket; keeps the heat in; the cold out.

For times when I don't wear a jacket, I usually stuff multiple clothes on my body or wear a sweater.

It's hard to keep up with winter, because where I live the Weather is inconsistent.

It switches from Hot to Cold on a Daily Basis especially during Winter time.

SuperCrash64 : I see that's a good way to go around it. Also that's weird since I didn't know that can happen. Does this happen at your hometown?

no 8120 : Ah I see that's really nice gotta do whatever to keep the body warm right? Since we know some people don't like being very cold.

I don't like wearing big coats or jackets, so I prefer to wear a lot of layers to keep warm. I wear 2-4 layers and then a sweatshirt on top (depending on how cold it is). If it's really cold, I wear a beanie when I go outside to protect my head. Apparently, your head loses body heat very easily, so they say it's good to keep it covered when it's freezing outside. If I'm outside for an extended period of time, I make sure to keep handwarmers with me. If you don't know what they are, they are these little packet things that you shake about 15-30 minutes (depending on the brand) before going out, and it gets hot. It helps to keep your hands warm, since you can't really do much if your hands are numb.

When the colder winter months arrive, I typically stay warm by wearing comfortable thick socks and hoodies. Most of the time I don't need to wear these indoors because the heat is on, however, there are some days when it gets really cold or it takes the heat forever to kick in overnight, so that's when I would bundle up with a few extra layers.

Since I have to go outside a lot more often because of having dogs, I always make sure to wear pants/track pants as well as a hoodie or jacket of some sort. Even though I have a pretty solid immune system throughout the year, I'd rather not run the risk of getting sick with a cold or congestion/sore throat during the winter time. Congestion is never fun for me when I do have it, so I like to avoid the risk of contracting it whenever possible.

I really just need a decent jacket and I am good. Gloves if it gets chilly. Indoors,I just walk around in a t shirt and jeans and I am okay.

RDay13 : Yeah layers are good but I also like to wear my big coat for a reason to keep me extra warm. Also um thanks for explaining to do with handwarmers since I haven't really heard about it before.

Razor-987 : I see the reason I wear it indoors because....I have a bedroom that has a long roof in a way where cold air comes in from. Plus my mother won't allow me to keep the electric heater to some extent. That's the reason why its a little more cold than warm in the room. Like the cold overtakes the heat because the heat can't get locked in for one reason. I thought to explain if you can remember I too have a weak immune system so we both know we can't take chances when it comes to the winter time. May I ask what Congestion is? Since I don't think I know what it is.

Oldschool777 : Oh ok lol its good, since everyone is different with what they do when it comes to winter.

The cold never bothered me anyway, so mostly, I just throw on a jacket or hoodie in cold weather.

I don't have to worry too much about keeping warm since I have a pretty hardy immune system.

Due to financial concerns, the furnace kicks in at 65 degrees, so when I'm sitting at home, I wrap up in a blanket and have a mug of hot chocolate.

On occasions when I play in the snow, though, I like to put on 2 pairs of socks, have gloves on, get on a t-shirt over a long sleeve shirt, get jeans over a soft pair of pants, get a cap on, and put on my hoodie before I'm out the door.

I just put on a coat and maybe a woolly hat and gloves if necessary. In the off chance that it does snow here (doesn't happen often and it only lasts a few days with the exception of 2010 where I was snowed in for 2 weeks) then I will put on a scarf and a hoodie as well.

Kackarot : Oh wow.....do you live all the way in Canada or something? Because from what you are describing that what it seems to be like. Oh I have to say nothing beat a good hot tea like herbal tea, or hot chocolate during the winter since I feel its the best time to have them while being under a warm cosy bed. So I can understand. I see, its very good to have a hard and healthy immune system keep it that way you don't want to end up having something I have sadly.

DylanMcKaig : Ah yeah your all the way in Scotland so I should remember that really. I have to ask does it snow more there than it does in London? In London its just pure cold freeing air.

Sorry I didn't reply back to you on this thread last night. Its because I already made my post for the day or for the night more like.

Eniitan : Where I am from (Dundee) it doesn't snow often. It is just very cold for a few months with a few days of sunshine. My city is south facing so we get a good few days where it is somewhat warm during the winter. Hope that is the case this year.

Eniitan : I have problems keeping myself warm due to the climate over here in Canada. The northern winds come down from Nunavut and the like down to Ontario, so we have pretty chaotic winters. I just wear a big jacket, warm socks, and hope for the best. Remember to take care of yourself during these cold days, yeah? Wear two layers, and move around quickly, preferably by a vehicle. Keep warm, friend!

I always wear my trusted hoodie and typically I'll sit under a blanket if I'm really cold.

Outside I'll wear gloves in the morning but that's about it, just zip my jacket all the way up lol

When I'm in snowy locations and I need to go outside, I put on my normal attire and then over that, a thinner jacket with a layer of down in it before donning my beloved North Face jacket. If I'm wearing a skirt, I just pull on some wool socks and then put on some boots over that and that's all I pretty much need to keep warm. If I'm not wearing a skirt, then I tend to wear jeans that have a nice, warm layer inside. Sometimes I'll wear a scarf or gloves to go with the outfit, but it's not absolutely essential and I don't wear a hat unless it's the hood on the jacket. Most people are pretty surprised at first that this is all I really need to wear because I don't look bulky or anything when I wear my outfits like this and they end up thinking I'm probably freezing until they try on my jackets.

Inside the house, I would normally just wear my usual attires and when I go to sleep at night, I'll have a heavier down quilt over a few plush throws. =P For some reason, plush throws are just so warm and cozy to me.

As for drinking something to stay warm, I usually go with some hot drinks like Swiss Miss hot cocoa or spiced apple cider and various types of tea. Warm soup also helps a lot, especially if it had been raining and snowing for most of the day.
