I have used AVG on my Sony Xperia Tablet, currently using Mcafee for my laptop. I have tried Norton in the past, and for the longest time had Avira AV free edition.

Up until relatively recently, I'd been using Symantec Endpoint Protection, which was beautiful.

But once I ran out of the ability to use it, I switched over to using Windows Defender in combination with MalwareBytes.

I've been fine, so I'm not terribly worried.

I would recommend McAffe and I would know because I have tried out a few. I believe McAffe is the best simply because it is not a hassle to use. All these other antiviruses have these random pop-ups constantly while McAffe only has pop ups when it's letting you know about a computer scan. I like it and I think you guys should try it out; it's really safe and it protects your computer like it's supposed to do.

The only anti-virus programs I've ever had on my family's "shared" computer (meaning I use it way more, and my parents are the only others that use it) are avast and Norton. I don't miss Norton one bit because it performed slowly and it was making me slowly go crazy on the inside. XD

I greatly prefer avast as my anti-virus program. Not only is it much faster than Norton, but it's proved more efficient and helpful. The scans don't take near as long and it often offers more options. The other options cost money but if I'm suddenly worried about advertisers internet-stalking me, I can change that with money.

I don't actually have an antivirus on here aside from windows defender because I block all ads and don't download spooky stuff.

I might change this in the future but that's all I have for now.

I don't really have a preference. But I think I have Norton on this laptop that i am using right now. It came with the laptop as it was a rquirement for school, so the VA paid for it.

If I'm on Windows I'll use Malwarebytes and avoid shady websites.
I'm considering adding avast but it's a processor hog.
On Linux I use nothing, since I use an obscure distro nobody is concerned about hacking.
EDIT: lol I didn't realize that I posted here 8 months ago

I've been using computer for so long and I've studied IT & Networking. I've always said that the best anti-virus is your brain. I never use an AV on my pc because they're all flawed, slow and not good enough. I however use Malwarebytes to scan my PC every now and then and that works like a charm. It's so easy to create viruses that'll bypass your standard AV's.

I have been using Avira for about 5 years now; I used to use Norton for about 3 years but after switching to Avira I can definitely say Avira is my #1 choice.

I just want to warn everyone to not use Avast. I had a computer that would not go into Windows 7. Would not go into safemode, either. Just gave a bluescreen. I tried a recovery disk, and that did not work, either. I checked the bluescreen code, and it was because of an Avast driver. I had to use Hiren's Boot CD to manually remove the driver.

Avira Antivir is what I have been using for many years. It's free and I almost never had any virus issues, also due to common sense and an adblocker. I don't know how and when I discovered it but ever since the first installation I stuck to that.
