On my Vita version of Minecraft, I have been playing on the same server since I first got the game almost two years ago. I have probably invested more than 300 hours into this one world alone, and as a result, I have collected a lot of stuff. Because of that, I have evolved from having 1 chest in the middle of my small house, to having a room full of rows of chests, and even beyond that to an underground lair with room after room of chests, with each room being used for a different object. When you first start out, all you really need is just one chest, right? But what do you do once you start getting more junk? How do you organize it? Where do you place everything?

Do you put up a wall where you just line up a row of chests and either randomly put stuff in them or label specific chests? Do you make specific rooms that are just for chests and then fill them up as you see fit? Do you maybe make something that’s similar to a closet? Also, what do you do with junk? Stuff that you don’t want to keep and just want to throw out? Do you have some sort of a disposal system? Do you just have another row of chests where you just put junk in and forget about those chests? Do you have lakes of water and/or fire that you just dump the items into?

As for me, my underground lair is full of rooms, each room is specifically for certain items, for instance, in my very first room, the right side is for coal and the left side is for ore, ingots, and blocks. They are divided into sections of 1 regular chest and 2 double chests that look like this, and they are lined up in such a way to be able to fit in as many chests as possible. Each room is quite small, taking up only 11 blocks by 7 blocks and fits 6 sections, or 30 chests. As for disposal, I used to have my own little lava pit, but it was way too much work trying to dump everything into it, so I have another room in the underground lair that’s a bit smaller with 2 sections just to put random junk in. What about you? How do you store your stuff?

Also, yes, the picture is not lying, in total right now, I have more than 5,000 pieces of coal stored.

You know you can craft those into Blocks of Coal to save space, right? Nine whole stacks of Coal comes out to a single stack of Coal blocks. Same with Sand into Sand Stone, Red Stone, Lapis, Iron, Gold, etc. I do that with all of my materials to save space, and you can break them back down into individual units later when you need it.

I haven't been playing very long, but I already come up with more stuff than I need. Usually, if it's excess cobblestone or dirt or the like from mining, I'll just dispose of it by tossing it into a small lava pool I made outside my window. Plus, the light keeps mobs from spawning too close to (or on top of) my house. I'll likely mine out and build a basement underneath my house for my materials pretty soon. I need to do some reorganizing.

m0ssb3rg935 : Nope, you can't do that on this version, no matter where you look, there's no option to craft blocks of coal. You can easily craft blocks of iron, gold, and whatever, but there's just no option for coal at all, I looked through the entire crafting table and could not find one. Sure, maybe I missed something but I'm pretty sure it's just not there.

Lava pools are nice, but it takes so long really to go through your inventory one spot at a time to pick them up and then drop them.

Well that's odd.... It says on the wiki that Coal blocks were added in the Pocket Edition Alpha version 0.8.0 build 2.... I guess they removed it later...

m0ssb3rg935 : That says for POCKET EDITION. This isn't Pocket Edition, there's only one thing that this version shares with the pocket edition, and that's multiplayer. Everything else about this version is just on the lines of the console version. Pocket Edition could still have blocks of coal, but that doesn't mean that this would have it. Maybe it could be fixed or added some day, because there are still being things from the PC version being added to it every month, but for now it's not there.

After making a 2nd floor to my house, I will normally make a whole room dedicated to hold all the chests I will need.

I usually end up keeping about, 2 chests on the first floor for random things until I have the time to sort it. But in the chest room, I will have rows and rows of chests, each catagorized by food, blocks, ores, gear and ect. I try my best to get a chest room as fast as I can because normally, I do collect a lot of things eventually.

I try to keep my chests organized with item frames indicating what goes where but after a week or so I usually give up and dump my junk in the closest chest to me.

I just can't be bothered tbh

I am extremely organized. I have a chest for nearly every major type of item. I put item frames on my chests and I have 30-40 double chests per base. I hate not knowing where things are and having to dig and dig just to find a single item.
