Tough that hearing others people name means would be fun.

My name is Joachim and it comes from two Hebrew names and means: The Lord has been determined, the Lord has raised

Just Google your name and meaning and see if you can found any meaning. Would be cool to see I think

Good morning, Mr. Joachim. My name is Alihissan. It has no meaning. It's a composite name, made up of two other names. Ali and Hassan/Hussain. I always felt different. Many people cannot pronounce my name. I always have to repeat myself. When people can't hear my very quiet voice, I'm given derogatory nicknames; The twin, Thing 2, Ayi (Because I truly cannot pronounce "L"), and "The quiet one". People also sometimes call me "you". It's sickening and sad.

My first name is Jamie.
I'm not really bothered what it means though, and I don't trust those sort of things because they can list different reasons and stuff like that.
If last names mean anything, good luck trying to find mine. I call myself White because of how pale I am, but that's not my real last name.

My real name (which I won't reveal) is so rare that I have met only one other named like me. It's simply a combination of my first ancestor's name (who came to America) and my grandfather's name. The former's name is one of the 12 apostles, whereas the latter is (in French) homonym to a plant's name. Not sure if it has a "deep" meaning.

My real name is from the Greek word katharos, which means "pure" or "unsullied"

I have one friend with the same name as me, she was born blind, and we love to share the silliness we both have.

My real name is from I believe Nordic and literally translated means "man of the North". Thing about my real name, one of my mom's(may she always rest in peace) friends told mom to name me after Dad who has the same first name as me and my grandfather.  Thing that bothers me about my Mom's passing away last week is that I never asked her what name she intended to give me before her friend asked her to name me after Dad.

My real name is Nicholas.
I'm named after St. Nicholas, a christian saint known for his secret gift givings and miracles.  Obviously, this inspired the tale of Santa Claus!

I'm not comfortable disclosing my real name on the Internet, but if I recall correctly, my first name is of Celtic origin, translating to "Well Birthed", implying nobility. Which is funny, because my whole family going back generations and generations have always been broke. If anything, we're the modern day peasants.

I'm willing to give my middle name because, well... it's virtually impossible to figure out who I am based only on my middle name. Scott speaks for itself pretty well.

My last name implies that one or many of my ancestors were either sailors or ferrymen. Which actually fits, because I have TONS of military history in the family tree, particularly on my dad's side, who himself attempted to join the navy.

I already knew the nationality of my family being mostly Irish and Welsh, but I never thought to find the meaning of my name until now.
Excerpt from Behind the Name – Given Name ROSS. GENDER: Masculine. USAGE: Scottish, English. PRONOUNCED: RAWS (English) [key] From a Scottish and English surname which originally indicated a person from a place called Ross (such as the region of Ross in northern Scotland), derived from Gaelic ros meaning "promontory, headland".

Additionally, this is true:

My name is Lance which I believe has English roots (since it's short for Lancelot). According to some random baby site I found, my name means both 'servant' and 'god-like'. Considering those two are basically polar opposites, I'm not sure what to think.

I'll stick with god-like just because I'm that awesome.

So I was looking into the meaning of my name, and I was surprised by how derivative my first name, Austin, was. So Austin is apparently a medieval contracted form of Augustine, which is interesting in and of itself, but Augustine is itself derived from the Roman name Augustus, which means "great" and "venerable" and is derived from the Latin word augere, "to increase." I know many people - friends, family, acquaintances - who seem to really like and respect me, so I guess the meaning fits for me.

My middle name, Thomas, comes from the Aramaic name תָּאוֹמָא (Ta'oma'), which means "twin".

I couldn't find much about my surname, Hoople, but I did find that Hooplehead is an uncommon slang term for a foolish, ridiculous, or worthless person. Sadly, I find this term suits me quite well, mostly just for how often I feel I make foolish decisions in my own life.

All of that aside, this was actually a really entertaining way to pass the time, and probably the first research I've done for anything after graduating college. It's interesting to find out those little things about yourself that you might take for granted, which somehow describe facets of your personality with startling accuracy.

Well my given name Andrea means "bravery". Combined with my Russian father's name and my last name it would mean:

The brave - daughter of Ivan - from "last name" (it's a town in Germany)

For years I'd thought I was named after my grandfather Andreas/Andrei.
However, my name was chosen because my mother's midwife was named Andrea.

Greetings from Germany

It is cool to learn about others names.

Mine is a version of a name from Ireland. It's supposed to mean war or church. My mom said she picked it because she liked it, it was very low on baby name lists at the time, after the saint who holiday is in July the month I was supposed to be born, and it fit my heritage. My other name means lover of hounds. She picked it because it sounded good with my first name. I do love dogs so it fits. I'm American but have Irish and Cherokee (not enrolled but do have roll #) heritage.  It's a different name for this area, and only met 1 other kid a few grades below me with same name.

Oats : It likely has Christian origins where one is supposed to be both like Christ and a servant of God. At least, that's what I get from it.
