I think mastergame has a great idea.
The item should have an expiration time.

That way, we get people to continue contributing to the site instead of just getting enough Viz then never contributing again.

Linkums : I use ABP and just allowed vizzed.com by clicking on the icon and clicking Disable on vizzed.com


That allows it for the whole site including the RGR.

For an actual suggestion, you should definitely make it a subscription. Ain't nobody wanna pay 100,000 Viz for adblock. I say that those Viz amounts should be halved and only last for a year. So 50k/year for premium, 37.5k/year for deluxe, 25k/year for standard, and 12.5k/year for mobile.

TheFadedWarrior : I can consider doing some sort of rental service but seriously, you'd rather not use the RGR just because you want to block the ads on Vizzed? Stuff like that makes me want to consider making it so that the entire site no longer works for users who have ad block. If half of the site viewers are using ad block, which is very possible, than that's a lot of revenue this site is missing out on.

The site's financial situation is so bad right now that I'm not making nearly enough to live off of so I'll be having to invest most of my time into other things in the near future resulting into very few Vizzed updates. I no longer have the budget to invest into things for the site like RGR Plugin updates and so many other things that I use to invest money into. If the site's financial situation gets worst, then I'll have to get rid of the servers that I have all of the files on since it costs a lot of money to run this site and all of the files and by doing that, I'd be killing what drives in 80% of the site's traffic.

A lot of site's can survive when users have ad block because they either have things to sell, get enough donations or flood their site with ads. Vizzed is almost completely funded by the ads, doesn't get nearly enough donations to survive and I've never wanted to flood the site with ads like a lot of sites do.

I could be wrong, but I think Faded's comment on not using the RGR was a joke. It's hard to tell sometimes, but he has that kind of sense of humor. He's free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

you also get money through donations you know if you weren't making money that way maybe i could understand this but as of right now i see no excuse not to mention you removed all those nintendo games not to mention i'm not sure how you making money benefits me

mrkoolnerd : The last thing I intend to do in this post is to sound as if I were talking down to you, but I can't help but feel there's some slight misunderstanding here and your post was poorly worded. There are several users here on vizzed that are rather.... sensitive, especially on the subject of the event between David and Nintendo, and could take offense to your comment, even if none was intended. Could you clarify what you're trying to say in your previous post?

He was contacted by a lawyer representing Nintendo and instead of them taking legal action, they requested he take their intellectual property down from his site. Furthermore, all the games that were taken down from the RGR are still available on Vizzed's affiliate site, play.rom.online. So that particular revenue issue has been fairly effectively mitigated. Even if he had not been approached by Nintendo, everyone playing the Nintendo games in the RGR that was using an adblocker still wouldn't have counted towards ad revenue.

mrkoolnerd : I'm using 2 ad companies that have been pretty good over the past few years. Google usually detects pretty quickly when an ad on a site is using Malware and I've never had it detect anything with the 2 ad companies I'm currently using.

I get donations but they don't even come close to covering the cost of server fees. They usually don't even cover half the cost of server fees.

I'm fine with disabling my adblock my problem is that it slows my computer to a halt.
If I disable my ad block I can't use the site due to the huge lag.

Davideo7 : Yes it can. Its a gaming laptop. (8gb ram and a 2.90 ghz intel i5)
Edit: I have it disabled on the forums and it runs fine. There must be some problem on that page because it happened once again.

Snorp02 : Any site using the old code and layout isn't nearly as optimized as newer pages so newer pages are going to run better in the browser and require less resources. That page you took a screenshot of is an example of a page still using the old site code.

I literally just bought that item a few hours before you dropped it's price...
I would have waited a few hours if I knew it was going to drop. It also does not have the supply and demand red label on it so I did not know the price would change.
