I like the new rules. Smart way of avoiding all the points-splitting stuff from the first competition with this player, and it helps people that missed the start of the competition, like I did last month. I think I might have a better chance this time around; not many people grew up with the Master System, so hopefully (for my sake) the votes should go more for song quality than nostalgia.

Submission 1: Miracle Warriors - Overworld
Right, so I wasn't going to submit this because it didn't do so well last time I submitted this song to a VGM competition. But then I saw that it's the highest-rated SMS song on Vizzed (at the time of posting this). Plus, I only recorded one loop last time, so people had to vote before the song really kicked in. So... fingers crossed this time.

I'm going to submit this song to every competition I possibly can from now on. Which shouldn't be a problem being that this game was released on, wait for it, 11 platforms. The Master System version might be one of the worst iterations of the song, but it's still awesome.

So if you're wondering why a Smurfs game has such good music, I don't blame you. You see, there's a guy called Alberto Jose Gonzalez, and he's awesome. Like Tim Follin, in my opinion he's one of the best video game composers of the 8- and 16-bit era. But he worked for Infogrames, which just happened to make games based on stuff like... well, the Smurfs. So yeah.

I'm not specifically a fan of his VGM; I don't actively seek it out like I do for Follin or Gonzalez, but it seems like a lot of the best Master System music was composed by him. As for David Wise, well he's a bit of a legend, best known for the Donkey Kong Country games.
