So for a while now I've been having some problems with Mupen64plus.  It started while playing Majora's mask where it loaded the wrong savestate.  Now it's doing it for ODT and I lost most of my progress.  I have no idea why it's doing it but because it's going to a previous savestate there's no way to go back except play through it again.  While not as bad as having your save file wiped it's equally as demoralizing.  Any advice

I've asked around a bit because I've had some issues with Paper Mario for 64 glitching (reallyyyyyyy bad when in a dark setting) and I've been told that it's just the emu. I've kinda toggled around a bit with the plugins (top right of the screen) and it kinda helps. Sorry I can't help much more.

Good luck!

plasticinsanity : There are certain games that just don't emulate well with the current emulators available for N64. That's not this particular problem though.

ZanderShadowbane : I'm not sure why that would be happening and never quite heard of someone having this issue before. It's kinda confusing, because of the nature of a save state, and the fact that the file is stored directly on your hard drive. Are you sure that the save was successful when you made it? Because sometimes it's a situation where someone is using the chat window, makes a save, then doesn't click back on the game window and THINKS they saved, but in reality they didn't, because their cursor was in the chat window.

Vanelan : Have either of you heard anything like this before?

Jordanv78 : I heard this the first time last week. The only thing I can think of would be to check and see if the state was saved in the guest directory. Of course, that's assuming what you mighta suggested, with the Window out of focus didn't happen.

Vanelan : Thanks for the reply. Interesting that something like this would come up now, considering nothing has changed with regards to the RGR recently.

ZanderShadowbane : Just for the sake of getting all the information as possible, this is only happening with Mupen? What version of Windows are you running?

Jordanv78 :   I'm currently using Windows 10.

Also I know the save states work because I can go to the same save state several times before I get kicked to one I made far earlier with multiple save states in between.  Also I play without the chat window.
