For me, it would be the original Street Fighter. It had some buggy controls and some things that didn't age very well, and I would like to see it remastered with all the characters in it playable.

Eirinn Out of all the games I've played, I would think Paladin's Quest could do with a remastered version.  The graphics look a little blocky by SNES standards, and I think if the lines were smoothed out, this could be a fantastic game, that one or Legend of Dragoon, which would be just absolutely awesome with it smoothed out.

One game I know needs an HD remaster is Super Mario 64, which is my favorite platformer of all time. While it did get a remake on the DS years ago, what there really needs to be is Super Mario 64 HD on either the Wii U or on the upcoming NX.

I would love to see Double Dragon redone, properly. The DD Neon version is okay, but they went for campiness and clunky controls. And perhaps the worst of them all,no elbow strike! I loved using the elbow strike to get a knockdown and you knew that all you had to do was face away from him, wait till he comes in range and then let him have it.

But for modern era,I would say The Warriors. Imagine what you can do with online play, create or join a gang, prove yourself on the 1970's streets of NYC,and fight for virtual territory.

moesceeto : I think they did the MGS HD remakes, didn't they? I could be mistaken, it may have just been a compilation.

Also I've never played Onimusha, but I saw it at a local game store a while back. I may have to try it out now.

sonicthehedgehog57 : Eep. lol And like I told moesceeto, I think they made the MGS remakes a while back, didn't they? They may not have been remakes though, could have just been a collection on a single disc/cartridge (PS3 and PS Vita I think).

Zlinqx : No! Don't fall for it, Zlinqx! It's an evil trap by Konami. They're trying to lure you back.
Well I'm not into remasters, remakes, or whatever you want to call them, but I'm not opposed to the idea either. I can think of some great classics that I would be excited to see remade, even besides the ones I listed. For example a Dino Crisis 2 remake and a Spyro The Dragon remake would both be incredible.

And yeah, it is sort of surprising that we haven't seen a Skyrim remake or even port given how huge it was.

VizzedGuy111 : I would love a Crash Bandicoot remake! I want more AAA 3D Platformers on PS4 and PS Vita man. We have plenty of 2D Platformers which is great, but I love 3D platformers best.

And I would like to see some HD remakes of some classic eighties and early nineties games as well. I know Toejam & Earl got a PSN port last gen, but I would love to see it and Wiz 'n' Liz get HD remakes as well. I could list a ton of 8-16 bit games worth a remake.

TristanTehGamer1 : Perfect Dark is about the only FPS I could really agree should get a remake, but I would like to see that happen. It really was a good game. The rest that you listed I don't think I've played.

Spidey243 : Streets of Rage would be awesome! I especially loved 2, but any of them would be good for me. Beat 'em Up is a genre I wish we could see revived altogether. We get one every few years but that's it. Sad too.

NovemberJoy : Yes, please! HD remakes of Crash would be wonderful. While we're at it, Spyro could be tossed in for a remake as well. Like I've been saying, I just want AAA 3D Platformers to make a comeback in general.

LordGaldan : I've heard a lot of good about Legend of Dragoon, but never tried it. I'm starting to think I should give it a shot now. I wonder why this hasn't been done yet, since it seems to have so much support to this day from it's fans.

gamerforlifeforever2 : I actually started to list Super Mario 64, but the DS remake made me change my mind. I would love to see a remake of it though. Super Mario 64 is still one of the best games ever in my opinion. Still can't get enough of that game.

Oldschool777 : Man, A modern Double Dragon remake would be great. In fact we could bring back that entire genre and it wouldn't hurt my feelings. Nothing like a good old fashioned Beat 'em Up.

Jak X Combat Racing. Seriously. GREAT multi-player game. What isn't there to like about suped up dune buggies with mines, machine guns, grenade launchers, missles, turrets and jet engines?

No kidding. I mean,do it right, just update the graphics and make sure the control is silky smooth and THAT IS ALL! We do not need wonky gameplay mechanics,or trying to make the game feel more modern,or other ways of f--king it up.

Eirinn : Yes they did an HD collection with MGS 2,3 and Peacewalker, but I mean the first two Metal Gear games for the MSX 2. Also MGS 1 doesn't exist as an HD version, only a remake for gamecube.

moesceeto : Oh of course. I knew about those, but for some reason when I hear Metal Gear I think of Metal Gear Solid. The only ones I've played are Metal Gear on NES, Metal Gear Solid on PSX, and Metal Gear Solid on GBC.

m0ssb3rg395 : What is this amazing sounding game you speak of? o__o Is it on PS4 or PS Vita by chance? Even PS2 would work. I need to play this.

Eirinn : It's only on ps2, to my knowledge. Do some looking on youtube for gameplay. It's like a fusion between Twisted Metal: Head-on on PSP and Burnout 3 set in the world of Jak and Daxter. I don't even like Jak and Daxter, but this game is a gem. I've only played story mode and against yosh, but 6 people going head to head playing a game of capture would be absolute chaos. It NEEDS a Steam release with netplay capability. One of my all time favorite games, and ties with the Burnout 3 at the top of the racing genre. Sorry Gran Turismo and Need for Speed.

I would really love the see the Adventure Island game for the NES. I've been playing them forever, and I think the game play is amazing, and with better graphic, I think would be so amazing. One can only hope and dream.

Another couple games I would like to see remastered, or maybe even completely redone, are Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku, LoG2, and Buu's Fury. One wouldn't think that a DBZ RPG would work, but it really does. The first one is unplayable to me, but the second and Buu's Fury  are a couple of my favorite GBA games out there.

Pokemon Snap.  I'd like there to be the six stages playable from the original game ("throwback" levels), but many other levels, as well.  On another note, I'd love to see a fully explorable Pokemon Snap sequel for the Wii U.  I'm upset that there hasn't been a Pokemon Snap game for the Wii or Wii U, because it feels like a wasted opportunity.  If the NX is anything like the Wii U, a new Pokemon Snap game could be the game that defines the console (I'm completely serious).  The closest thing gamers have had to Pokemon Snap is "Beyond Good and Evil".  While a great game, the camera does very little compared to what Pokemon Snap does.  And if we can have a good, free-roam Pokemon Snap, one where we can explore a world and take pictures of Pokemon, and even battle, that would be incredible.  Perhaps the best way to do this is to make a proper successor to Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.  One where you're on a quest with Pokemon, but you also can take pictures of Pokemon and accept sub-quests.  That has the potential to be amazing.  I hope Nintendo manages to pull off something like this in the future.

supernerd117 : I've actually been hearing people ask for a new Pokémon Snap for a little while now. And even though I don't do Pokémon anymore, I remember how much I loved that game (Also loved Hey You, Pikachu!). I wish we could get more games like Snap, and I mean really it makes sense in modern gaming, especially with the Wii U. Nintendo wants to utilize that tablet to it's fullest? Release a game like Pokémon Snap that - like you said - allows you to roam freely in an open world, and use the table screen as a viewfinder for the camera! That would be an amazing little game.

Release a game like Pokémon Snap that - like you said - allows you to roam freely in an open world, and use the table screen as a viewfinder for the camera! That would be an amazing little game.

Several:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or Call of Duty: World at War (many people agree with me there)
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
SNK vs. Capcom 2
Cannon Spike
In fact a lot of the DC and PS2 library should be remastered in my opinion.

Just like the movie industry it appears that the video game industry can't come up with anything new but instead are remaking old games that were successful.

This bugs me. With the right game it is an easy way to make money but it feels really lazy in what should be a creative industry. It's not like you need unique ideas (see Halo or CoD sequels) in order to make a game....

There are a lot of good small game developers trying to make new, good games that get ignored because of stuff like this.

Grandia and Legend of Legaia. But I don't think that will ever happen though. And also Final Fantasy VI that might happen some day, but hardly believe that either.

I would love if Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue team were to be re-released on the 3DS. The thought of having my favorite GBA game on a 3DS game with 3D models is just....
