Hello gamers and welcome to another of my guides. As always my goal is to make you progress, grind your levels and show you the numerous sidequests there are. And there are many: getting and growing the capsule monsters, getting all the treasures and the dragon eggs. Note that the Ancient Cave, which is MUCH larger than in Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, will only contain generic tips since its configuration is random EVERY time you get in it.

Like the previous game you will get a new game + option once you finish, where you will get 4 times the experience, and the most realistic chance of killing Gades when you first meet him. And if you still complete the game you will get a gift mode where you will go down the Ancient Cave with whoever you want (but won’t be able to explore the rest of the planet).

Note that you can technically avoid all random fights in dungeons since you can see the enemy coming at you. However sometimes you must since they might be blocking your way (in narrow corridors) or killing all the enemies in a room is the only way for you to progress.

To grow your capsule monsters, just feed them whatever surplus inventory you have. Feeding them what they actually request may or may not cause their “growth bar” to fill up. The best way to make them grow is to feed them the (rare) fruits you find.

Sharp turn: pressing the L (R?) command to change direction without moving. It is vital inside dungeons where you need very precise moves.

Part 1: The Beginning

Village: Elcid

After your dialogue with Tia, go towards the south exit of the village. An old man will come to you and ask you to follow him. Do so and walk south to a dungeon (it looks like a mirror). Just follow his instructions and you will learn the basics of the game. Kill the enemies you want to gain experience.

When you’re done go back to Elcid and to Tia’s house. After a scene exit the house and go west for another scene. Exit the village and go north to visit your first real dungeon.

Dungeon: Cave to Sundletan

Whack the bushes to go in the next room and cross the bridge. Go right, slash the bush to push a switch and walk south. Slash the third row of bushes to access the antidote. Slash your way to the right to access the other room. Slash the first bush you see and use the pot nearby to hold the switch. Slash the other bushes on the right to place the other pot. Come back towards the entrance and enter the room above the first switch you pressed. To open the door, start by walking with one pot over the switch and put in the corner next to the obstacle. Get the other pot, make a sharp turn to put it on the first switch and then put the other pot on the switch beyond the spikes. You will get a life potion(increase hit points). Go back to the previous room and walk right to another one. Slash your way to an escape and come back to the room with two pots. Enter the first room on your left and push whichever lower block you want for a fight. Then enter the newly freed space, push the block on your right, then the far-right block for a fight and the lower block in the freed space to go downstairs. Go southwest to get power potion (increased attacked) and follow the lower wall right to hit a switch. Jump down to cross the newly-created bridge and move towards the stairs. Pass them a walk in the wall one block above the dead end. Make your way towards a descending stair leading to hide armorand magic jar (recovers magic points). Come back to the stairs you skipped, recover if you need (don’t save for the stats at the end) and enter the next room for your first boss fight. Be sure to be at least at level four. Bring a few boomerangs if need be.

Boss fight: Lizard Man

At level 4 you should be able to attack first. Nevertheless it’s still very strong. Keep your hit points over 10 and pummel it until it dies.

After the fight watch a scene. Escape the cave, re-enter it and walk straight across the bridge to enter a room with a door you can now unlock. Once on the other side walk northeast to the next village.

Village: Sundletan

Walk to the back and talk with the old man next to the coffee shop. Power up as needed and go towards the island to enter the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Lake Cave

Use your arrows to flick the switch, and move the wooden panels to create a bridge. Enter the next room, walk straight into another one and kill all the enemies to reveal monsters behind spikes. With your arrows, hit 3-1-2 (beetle, eagle and frog). Enter the room south to recover, and come back to enter the room you just opened. Go downstairs, walk south and get insect crush. Now you will be able to dispose of bugs very easily. Come back to the second room, take the left door, slash your way and take 4

123

 45

The left room has a save spot. Go up the stairs and go southeast to slash your way to power potion. Come back to the previous room, enter the room NE and move the left-hand column up. Enter the room on the right, slash your way to the upper-right corner and move in the wall on the left for miracle (Lufia’s version of the elixir). To get the other treasure you will have to fight your way to it. You will get a speedy ring for your efforts. Come back to the previous room, move the right-hand column on the lower switch and move the lower-right block to go downstairs. In this room move the two extremity blocks one space down and the lower block up to form an arrow pointing up. You will get the Lake Key. Go back up to where you landed from the hole and enter the room it had opened. Use three panels to form a bridge and take the other one with you. Put it on the water due right of the switch, and then flick the switch. Once the water is drained just use the panel to move forward. Walk straight into the boss room. Be at least level 8-9 if you do not use savestates.

Boss fight: Cat fish

He’s much tougher than the lizard; its mega quake can cause 25 damages. Make sure you have a few boomerangs with you and, hopefully, an eagle rock to cast dive. Don’t let your hit point fall below 20 and you should be able to beat it.

Exit the cave, return to Sundletan and talk with the man right at the entrance. Return to the cave and go back to the third room (with the shooting puzzle). Defeat the skeleton and the goblin and Tia will join you (after you fight another goblin). Exit the cave, walk to the NW and go around the mountain you see after entering the warping shrine. Enter the “large tree” you see and get your first capsule monster, Foomy.

Part 2: Saving Alunze’s coronation

After it’s done walk NW in a desert, cross a bridge and reach Alunze.

Village: Alunze

Note that the inn has a slot machine, but you should wait until Forfeit Island where there will be more opportunities to earn coins. Anyway walk straight into the castle (it’s separated from the village). Enter the castle proper, go upstairs and enter the throne room for a scene. Exit the room, go south of the stairs and enter the room on the right. Follow the path until you meet a fainted guard. Talk to him, go downstairs to enter the next dungeon.

Alunze dungeon

Enter the room south of the columns, pick the vase and place it on the switch. Enter the next room, push one of the blocks south and the other one on the “switch” (the corridor will be larger). Push the other block next to the next door to open it. Get the bomb in the next room, a tool that explodes after six actions (sword swing, steps). Come back to the first room and place a bomb on the broken wall on the right. Go down the second corridor to pick up a vase and place it on a switch down the first corridor. Go to the far right (passed an unreachable chest for now), walk down and get headband. Walk around the wall down the newly-created path and go downstairs. Enter the room on the right, fight the bat and enter the restoration room (there’s a save point to). Come back to the first room and bomb the weak wall (left of the blue torch). Cross the bridge and start by placing the base of the NW switch to get escape. Go back to the room and place the vase on the SE switch. Move the block on the far right and place a bomb.

The next room has your first challenging puzzle. Start by pushing the lowest orange block left and up towards the two there to eliminate them. Move right where the blocks were, push the red block below you down and the one between the orange ones up (not against the wall!) and move the other orange block to eliminate them. Push the red block you pushed down to the left, move the lowest purple block up and left, push the farthest one where the previous one was and push the purple block to complete the L and eliminate them. Eliminate the red blocks by moving two block left of the two already standing (where the purple block were) and by moving the ultimate one between them.

Enter the NE room for coat and come back to cross the lowered spikes into the next room. Push the block next to the X down and the other one right. Then push the block you pushed down left and go downstairs. Walk straight west to push a block, come back to the warp and place the vase on the SE switch and go in the middle. In that room walk south to the wall and then up to defeat the horse. Get the light knifeand warp back. Place the vase on the NE switch, and in that room follow the spikes to make your way NW to get secret fruit. Come back to the origin and walk south of the warp. Walk to the NE, enter the opening in the spikes, whack the wall and get miracle. Go back to the warp and place the vase on the NW switch. Place a bomb next to the crate, get the dragon egg and walk south to push the other block. Warp back, place the vase on the SW switch and defeat all three groups to open the door. Walk west to go downstairs, enter the room and watch a scene. After walk south to press a switch, go upstairs and down either way to get the crown back (down some stairs). Warp outside the dungeon and go back to the King. Answer “nothing” to get the most money (3k gold).

Exit Alunze, walk straight north to the warp shrine and talk with the woman. Exit the shrine, follow the coast west and enter the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Alunze NW Cave

Talk with the boy, and after the dialogue go down the stairs and under the broken bridge. Use your arrows to flick the switch, get the hi potion and go up to the wooden panels. Use them to build back the bridges; enter the first room. Place the two vases on the switches and lure the lizard towards the other one; freeze it with your arrows if need be. Enter the newly opened room, walk south to a weak floor and fall down to B2. Move the first block right, move the other one a space up and move it back on the switch to continue. Get the horse rock, move the first block away and the other one left. Enter the next room and place the vase four spaces left and one down to make stairs appear on the other side of the cliff. Come back, enter the NW room, go up and go down a secret corridor to get light armor. Come back up, take the left corridor, cross the room to another one, ignore the stairs and go into the restoration room. Slash the vines right above the panels to getmiracle and brave (increase gut). Go to the right, down the stairs you created and walk NE. Push the block at 9. Make sure you slash 1 before doing the next part.

Place a bomb between 7 and 9, push the block up, slash 7, place a bomb, push the block up, slash 5, place a bomb, sharp turn towards 7, move down towards 9, slash it and push the block up. Slash 2, place a bomb, sharp turn towards 5, slash it and place a bomb, slash 7 and quickly push the block on the switch. Walk left, go in the middle of a narrow corridor and show at arrow at the switch to go down. Follow the path to the right to get jet helm, come back where you fell and push the two columns to the far right to get witch ring. Go up and down the stairs to reset the columns and push them to cross the water. Walk SE to get power bracehi magic and hi potion. Defeat all the enemies to free the spikes and go back downstairs (where you resetted the columns). Go immediately downstairs (to the SW), follow the path and go under the bridge. Go into the wall and follow the path south to miracle. Come back, go up to cross the bridge, enter the next room and press the switch. Come back to where you first came downstairs, enter the SE room, go up and across the bridge to another room with a switch that drains water. Go back to the stairs, enter the room above them, follow the path and bomb the weak wall above the healing panels. Enter the room for a fight.

Boss fight: Regal Goblin

It attacks twice per round, sometimes calling companions (goblins, mage goblins). Just stay healthy and pummel it to death. Take the key behind it and escape the dungeon. Go back to the warping shrine, talk with the woman and follow her. Walk NE to the next village.

Part 3: Guy joins

Village: Tanbel

Talk to Hilda when you enter, watch a scene and walk straight to the back to talk with Guy. Fight the Followers (gone in 2-3 rounds) and exit the village SE to the next dungeon. Switch Guy and Tia so Guy fights in the front row.

Dungeon: Southeast Tower

Enter the NW room, walk on the “fox tile” and cover the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock switches. Move one of the blocks where the scorpion is and take the vase towards the door. Move pass the switch and place the vase to open the door. Go upstairs, enter the room south and fight the goblins that doesn’t move. Press the switch, enter the next room, go outside and enter the next room on the right. Move the column on the dark tile and walk all the way to the back to go upstairs two floors. Enter the SE room, walk straight south to the wall and back up towards the switch by walking in the “opening” in the carpet (between the golden lines) to press the switch. Enter the next room, go outside and up the ladder to lower a switch. Come back to the stairs, enter the SW room and move the column of the prominent tile. Move all the vases of the “fox tiles” and enter the next room. Walk straight south down a narrow corridor and bomb the bones on the floor. Press the switch, walk down and outside, go down and enter the next room. From the closest note, hit the column with your sword, with your arrows and with a bomb to open the door. Get the sky key, go back up the ladder, walk up the two narrow corridors and go upstairs. Go south to healing panels, south some more to go outside and walk right to the next room. Walk NW, push the block at “9” and the column at “12” to flick the switch lowering the ladder. You can now place the block right under the column to reveal a secret door with jute helm. Go back outside and up the ladder, and then walk straight up for a battle.

Boss fight: Camu

He is weak towards lighting-based attacks. His ordinary attack is fierce, so make sure you stay healthy in case he casts his powerful buster attack. He can also call companions (slave, weak towards wind). Just pummel him and he will go down.

After a scene walk back to the Southeast Tower. Make your way back to the top to get Camu armorpearl brace and fire dagger. Go back to the bottom and walk straight from the entrance to exit at the back. Walk straight to the next village.

Village: Clamento

Enter the house next to the magic shop to talk with the woman. Then enter the large house at the back of the village and talk with the man. Exit the village and follow the coast to the NE to enter the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Ruby Cave

Walk straight up, go NE and place two bombs next to the darker wall. Enter that room, follow the path and go downstairs. Flick switch 1-4-1-2-3

12

and bomb the darken wall. Warp to your next capsule monster, Armor Dog (fire-based). Come back to the second room and enter the NW door (slash the second bush

to press the switch). Slash the bushes there to press a switch and go downstairs. Grab the panel to complete the bridge, go up and down the right-hand stairs. Walk SW on the same level to shoot an arrow at a switch. Go back up to take the left-hand stairs and go downstairs some more. GO up to kill skeletons, slash the vines and get the ruby key. Go back to where you fired your arrow and go down the ladder. Take one “ice block” and throw it in the lava SW to get another one. Take it, throw it in the lava to get flame fruit and take the other ice block. Walk back to the right, throw a block due south of the other one facing down, throw another one facing down SE on the new path, another one SE of the new path facing down and again to gain access to two new ice blocks. Use the left-hand one to throw it on the SW corner facing left and the other one on the SW corner of the new path facing down. Take the fury helm and aqua whip, take the ice block and make your way back near the ladder. Walk east and throw the block to go downstairs (next to bones on the ground). Walk straight down, slash the vines to go to a restoration room and enter the room on the left. Keep walking to your next fight.

Boss fight: Tarantula

It’s weak towards fire. It can also call smaller spiders and cast poison shower (damage + poison). It can also heal itself with stronger and its attack can paralyze. Don’t waste time curing poison; just stay healthy and you will take it down.

After the fight go in the next room and talk with Jaffy. Exit the cave, go back to Clamento and to Rochy’s house. Talk with him and watch a scene. Exit the village, walk NW to the warp shrine and straight up into Parcelyte.

Part 4: Selan joins

Village: Parcelyte

Enter town to see a scene and then go into the castle. After a short scene enter the castle proper, go upstairs and up some stairs to meet the king. Talk to him for a scene and exit the castle. Walk a short distance NW into the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Treasure Sword Temple

Enter the room to the NE and follow the path downstairs. Take the first platform you see on your left, take undead ring, take the platform twice again and move left to take another one. Move to the next one, go down to take the last platform you hadn’t taken, take cold rapier and go back on the platform. Go back on the platform next to the stairs, do a couple of changes and take back the platform that lead you to the rapier. Get off, go back south to another platform and make changes. You will get sword key and anger brace. Make your way back to the entrance and enter the NW room. Go to the right to pick a vase and put it on the switch. Put a bomb next to the weak column and walk into the weak floor to go down. Follow the path, take round shield and move the blocks to go back upstairs. Make your way back to the entrance and take the center door. In that room enemies hide behind columns, so just walk straight and fight them to avoid getting caught from behind. Go upstairs and follow the path until a room with two switched. Flick the top one, then the bottom one and then the top one again. Now go bottom, top and bottom to cross the gap to get bat rock. Come back to the switches, go bottom, top, bottom, cross the gap, flick bottom, top, bottom, cross the gap, follow the path and walk to the NE most part of the room to get mind ring. Go upstairs, enter the room above, place a bomb in front of the left crater, then the right one and keep walking straight on the narrow corridor to reach the next room. Follow the path upstairs, and follow that path to your next puzzle.

In the first room, move the left-hand yellow block next to the far-right one. In the second room, move the bottom red block in a gap between a red block and two yellow ones, and move the bottom yellow block in a gap between the two red ones. In the last room, go to the gap, pick the red block below you, move it so the gap is now in the middle, move the NE yellow block above the left-hand column and move the third yellow block (from the top) to the right of the bottom row.

Enter the restoration room, follow the path upstairs and go up the platform to fight both clowns individually. Don’t be afraid to use magic, you can come back to the restoration room afterwards. After fighting each one individually, you will fight them again in teams of two (Maxim-Tia and Selan-Guy). Being around level 18 should do.

Boss fight: Pierre

The Maxim-Tia team. He’s weak against water and wind so make sure she has the aqua whip. Watch out for his strong fireball. Stay healthy and pummel him to death.

Boss fight: Daniele

The Selan-Guy team. She’s weak against lighting. Watch out of the blizzard and vortex. Stay healthy and you will win.

After the fight open the treasure and go back to King Parcelyte. After a scene come back to the main room, walk straight downstairs and getholy wings. Exit Parcelyte and walk SW to the warp shrine. Keep walking SW to enter the ruined village.

Part 5: First meeting with Gades

Village: Gordovan

Enter the city and talk with the man right at the entrance. Exit the village and walk west to enter the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Gordovan West Tower

Enter the NW room, have the goblin walk on the switch (shoot it with an arrow if necessary), go upstairs and walk down to a room. Hit the switch to turn it blue, move the middle block below you down, move the one to your right, the one above you two spaces and push the one of your right to the white tile to move the switch. Shoot an arrow at the switch, move the top block to your right and flick the switch in the bottom-right corner. Go outside to get to the next room, follow the path, go upstairs and go down to a restoration room. Go back to the main room and take the vase. Always staying on the colored tiles walk down and put the vase on the right switch. Walk on the grayed path towards the door, go upstairs and go to the room below you for your next tool, a hook. Come back, push the column to your right, use your hook up, left and enter the next room. Go upstairs, enter the SW room, bomb the crate and go outside to flick a switch. Come back, enter the NE room press the switch in the SW corner and enter the NE room. Press the switch, go on the first floor, walk up and bomb a weak wall. Geteagle rock, use your hook and go upstairs. Enter the NW room to get muscle ring, go back downstairs and enter the SW room to go back in the elevator. Go to the second floor, walk down to a speed potion and go to the third floor. Walk left, push the column one space before being stuck to the other one, circle around up-left and use your hook. Push the column below you one space, push the other one to the right and circle again to use your hook on the column. Push it on the switch, enter the room below, follow the path to go outside and go up the ladder. Hit 1-5-6-2-7-3-4, get the wind key and go downstairs. Use your hook, go on the fourth floor, get the miracle and go back on the fifth floor. Walk right, go towards the room below, go outside up the ladder and back inside. Walk straight up to confront Gades.

Boss fight: Gades

There is no way you can win this fight outside new game + (you are not meant to anyway). The only way you can stand a chance is by having light knife and constantly use the special attack. If you succeed you will get Gades’ Blade.

After the fight and a scene, enter the back room for block shield and scimitar. Escape the tower, warp back to Parcelyte and talk with the King. After a scene go back to Gordovan Tower. Enter the NE room, go straight to exit at the back and move NW to the next village.

Village: Merix

Talk with the girl in the house east of the SE bridge (from the entrance) and exit. Make sure you buy three gladius… for later. Walk straight north and follow the path to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: North Cave

Walk towards the broken bridge, talk with the man and keep walking east to go downstairs. Enter the room east, slash your way to bomb a darken wall to flick a switch and enter the other room to get regain. Come back to the wooden pillars, use your hook, go downstairs, follow the path and enter the right-hand room for hi magic. Enter the other room for a scene, enter the next room and fight the monster right below the “black orb”, swing your sword and all the monsters will disappear. Enter the room on the right and make your way up so the bridge can be rebuilt.

Go back to Merix and to the builder’s house to get dragon egg. Now go back to the North Cave and cross it to the other side. Walk NNE towards a castle.

Part 6: Dekar joins

Village: Bound Kingdom

Walk up straight for a scene. Talk to Dekar afterwards, enter the castle proper, go upstairs and enter the throne room for a scene. Exit the castle, walk NW across a bridge and enter the next dungeon.

North Dungeon

Enter the room on the right and slash your way to a secret passage for thunder ring. Go downstairs, slash your way to a switch in the NW corner, enter the room south, use your hook and enter the next room where you will shoot at the switch to turn it blue. Come back to the entrance, enter the first room you encounter, go downstairs, follow the path and flick the switch. Enter the room above you and follow the path for a deadly sword. Come back to the first level, go back to the far-right room, follow the path and whack the wall behind the ghoul to get thunder ax. Come back up, enter the last room on the far left and follow the path to the “moving stairs.” Just try to enter them from the left until they’re stuck at the bottom. Follow the path, move the column above the switch, use your hook under it, place the vase on the switch and push the column back. Go downstairs (watch out for the swords, they are VERY strong), walk due east and use the platform to move east into another room. Use your hook to move east (near the bottom wall) to get another capsule monster, Shaggy. Make your way back to the platform room, make your way to the top-most platform and move it east. Move all the columns on the darker tiles to retrieve dragon egg. Come back to the platforms, move the one with three arrows one space left, the one above it one space up, the one pointing down one space down, the 3-arrows up, the right-down platform down, the up-right platform right and the 3-arrow one to the left-hand door.

Here is your next challenging puzzle.

123

456

789

Place bombs on 5-6-8 and have them explode. Now place them on 4-6, make them explode and place the next ones on 7-1-3-9. Cross the newly raised platform, get the life potion and go downstairs. Follow the path, push the column on the right switch, enter the room and move straight ahead for a fight. Level 20 should do.

Boss fight: Mummy *4

The gladius you bought earlier will come in handy. You can also cast fire to take them down easily.

Boss fight: Troll *3

They are weak towards fire, and their attack can paralyze.

Part 7: Second encounter with Gades

After the fight go back to Bound and make sure to undress (!!) your ladies. Go to the King and talk to him for a scene. Make sure you have plenty of hi potions since you won’t have magicians with you… Exit the castle, move east and enter the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Ancient Tower

Move the red pillar east towards the carpet (right above the man standing) and push it against the wall. Once you can not anymore push it west and enter the next room. Follow the path, kill both monster groups and move one pillar away. Have the floating pumpkin move towards the switch and imprison it back with the pillar you pushed (hint: it moves exactly contrary to you). Move the pillar to the bottom of the room and next to the spikes above the SE X block. Move on to the opposite side (against the wall) and use your hook (with a sharp turn) towards the pillar to go upstairs. Follow the path to go outside, re-enter the tower, bomb the weak wall above the switch and walk through the wall where the “fox tiles” stand. Go upstairs, follow the path and stand on the warp walking from the right. Remove the vase, get the pumpkin jewelmuscle ring and protect ring and go outside up a ladder. Follow the path, push all the blocks towards the white tile, shoot at the switch, press the switch in the SW corner and go back outside. Enter the left room, kill all the enemies and get the cloud key in the next room. Don’t forget the weak wall above to get miracle. Go back down the ladder towards the warps and enter the center one from the left. Enter the lower room for Fayza shield (the armors are very strong), enter the next room to press another switch, enter the next room to flick a switch and go south to go outside. Go down the newly-created ladder, move pillar 1 down and the other ones up, follow the path and go down. Hit the blue guardian five times, the red one three and walk towards the circle to create healing panels. Walk down to go outside, re-enter the tower and follow the path to the “monster race.” They move as you move, so make sure YOUR monster wins to continue. Enter the room to flick a switch, go back to the stairs and go outside, enter the next room, follow the path and get ready to confront Gades. Level 24 should do if you have plenty of holy weapons.

Boss fight: Gades

Make sure the gladius wielders have their IP bar high enough to unleash holy power. It will make the fight so much easier even at low levels (cast battle lust from your weapons can help too). But beware because he’s still strong with his destructo-wave and devastation. Stay healthy and you will defeat him easily.

After the fight, go down the stair right of the blue pillar. Bomb the red statue, go back up, go down the stairs above the clear pillar, make your way downstairs, shoot an arrow at the blue statue and enter the next room for magic bikini. Come back upstairs and go down the stairs left of the red pillar. Enter the room above, go downstairs, walk on the black tiles in both rooms, follow the path and press on the switch at the back of the room (among three pillars). Enjoy a long cutscene of your life with Selan.

Part 8: Evil is back

Once you gain control exit Parcelyte (making sure Selan wears decent weaponry) and go to the NE towards the next dungeon.

Dungeon: North Lighthouse

Move the blocks so they point an arrow towards the right-hand door. Move NE of the room, lift two boxes on the switches against the wall, place the other one in front of the door and move the two other boxes on the other switch and the white tile. Enter the newly-opened room from dragon eggbig shield and mystery ring. Enter the next room, go upstairs and enter the next room for your next puzzle. Here is the key

Take the stairs formerly blocked by spikes to press a switch. Go back down, follow the path south to go outside, follow the path (ignore the pillars for now) inside to eventually end outside and go up the ladder to get fire ring. Go back to the pillar room, use your hook, enter the room above and bomb a weak wall in the NE part. Flick the switch, come back to the pillar room and go outside to climb the ladder. Take the light key, take the warp on your left, free yourself and walk south to, this time, point the arrow towards the left door. Follow the path to go upstairs *3, enter the room on the right to go upstairs, enter the room south and move the pillar left. Bomb that tile, push the pillar in the hole and follow it. Walk on the switch, move the pillar towards the other one and get bee rock. Move the pillar next to the hole, use your hook, use it again on the pillar to fall to get cancer rock, take the warp, keep walking south to the restoration room, go outside and follow the path to a room with blocks and switches. Move three on the blocks on the switches and move the last one out of the way to walk on the switch yourself. Go upstairs for your next fight. Level 25 should do.

Boss fight: Idura

He’s weak towards ice. He can call companions and cast Idura Thunder, which attacks everyone, like Plasma attack. Stay healthy (hit points above 60) and you should be fine.

After the scene, warp to Bound and enter the warp shrine next to the Ancient Tower. Move east to enter the next town (put Guy and Dekar in front as they attack better).

Village: Aleyn

Talk with the captain at the entrance and exit. Just walk north, follow the coastline and you will reach the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Phantom Tree Mountain

Enter the first door you see, walk up and slash the right-hand bush. Put a bomb in the middle, enter the next room and follow the path to flick a switch. Come back to the first room, enter the right-hand room, follow the path to go outside and climb stairs to the next room. Go upstairs, bomb the blacken wall and follow the path outside. Get the tree key and come back to the wall you bombed.

Go towards the bushes, walk one step on the ungrown bush between two mature and walk back (on the right-hand column and the top one near the door). Then, walk on the very bottom bush and walk on all the ungrown bushes to open the door.

Slash your way to get another tool, fire arrow, follow the path to go outside and go down stairs to go back inside. Follow the path, take the stairs down and walk to the NW of that room for water ring. Go back up, slash the vines on your right and go upstairs.

In that room, climb the ladder on the right and fire all the bushes in your way. Then push the lower block left in the corner, the left-most up and the upper-right one on the switch (don’t forget to fire the bushes on the next promontory). Push the blocks from there on the switches and go down to the fragile soil. From the right side of the entrance press

Up, right, up, right until you pick the urn, up to the rocks, 2 left, down, left towards the rocks, circle down around the rocks and walk up to the next vase. Move to the right of that vase, put the vase you hold on the ground, make a sharp left to pick up the other one, walk up to put it on the first switch and go pick the other one to put it on the other switch (don’t forget about sharp turns). The just walk on unwalked soil to exit the puzzle.

Bomb the darken wall, follow the path and go down the ladder. Walk towards the back of the room, climb the ladder and use your hook to make your way across the room to enter a room going upstairs. Walk straight and use your hook to freeze the lizard when it’s on the switch. Cross the gap, follow the path, cross a bridge and bomb the entrance covered with wood. Lure the monster on the “obvious” floor and walk down to your next fight. Being around level 25-26 should do

Boss: Lion *2

They are purely physical and their bite is very strong – scratch attacks everyone. They seem to be weak towards ice; just pummel them hard and finish them.

After the fight walk south, use your hook and walk towards the tree for a dialogue. When back in control go to the inn (right by the entrance) and spend two nights (20 gold in total). Afterwards walk south towards the port and Jyad will have his ship ready. Choose to go towards Gruberick.

Village: Gruberick

Other than powering up there isn’t much to do in the city. Exit it and walk north to the Ancient Cave.

Dungeon: Ancient Cave

Since there are a few configurations per floor, I can not give you a walkthrough of the cave, only general advice.

·         Until you reach the “cave” levels (below B40) make sure you fight every monster you encounter. You need as much experience as you can gather in order to stand a chance at defeating the boss.

·         Open every chest you see. Feed your leftovers to your capsule monsters, who will gladly eat them and grow.

·         Your only means to escape is Providence, which is found around level b21 or lower.

·         If you abuse savestates, then make sure you try “every” possible floor configuration to increase your chances of finding Iris items (my record: all but 2 items with one descent) and blue chests, the content of which you can carry with you outside the cave. Also use it in the lower levels if you unluckily fall on enemies like gold/silver dragon or archfiend, which can kill you instantly with death or very strong attacks.

·         Note that Iris items appear in order. So if you get the helmet and not the sword, then you missed two items.

·         To maximize your chance of winning, make sure all your characters have their IP bar at the maximum and that you have weapons like Dekar Blade, which reduces the enemy’s hit points by a large fraction.

·         When fighting, focus exclusively on pummeling the Master Jelly since it does not attack at all. But if you have Trick, by all means use it once since Master does not have elemental weaknesses, so Selan is not that useful once she used her “limit break.”

·         You must kill the boss before it acts a fourth time, otherwise you will not get the key which gives you access to the chests at the entrance:brill helmlight jewel and dragon ring.

When you have explored to your satisfaction, talk to Jyad to go Narcysus.

Part 9: the end of Dekar

Village: Narcysus

Walk outside the port for a scene. Exit the village and follow the shoreline towards the north for your next dungeon.

Dungeon: Tower of Sacrifice

Follow the path, walk behind the black block and go upstairs. Follow the path, flick the switch, use your hook, press both switches (make sure you bomb the weak wall on the right) and follow the path outside. Re-enter, go upstairs (watch for the samurai, they are swift), bomb the weak wall above you, go completely downstairs, take the Narcysus key and bomb the weak columns. Go back up one floor, go upstairs beyond the lowered wall to get ice ring, come back to the samurai room and walk outside once more. Re-enter and follow the path to your next puzzle.

Move the first block you see left until it gets pushed back. Flick the switch, move the other block right, press the switch among the spikes and move the block up until it gets pushed back. Follow the path to your next puzzle.

Bomb 13 and 15, bomb 11 and 7, bomb 6 and 8, bomb 1 and then 7. Do the same for the other set of tiles.

The middle door has a new capsule monster, Hard Hat. Take the right-hand door to end up outside to lower a switch. Come back to the puzzle room and take the left-hand door to eventually end up in another puzzle room.

Walk between columns 1 and 2 towards the back of the room, turn left next to column 1 and go down, go up between columns 2 and 3, down between 3 and 4 and up next to 4. Follow the path of a scene and a fight. Being in the mid-20s should do

Boss battle: Idura

If you explored the Ancient Cave you should have plenty of weapons/accessories that are ice-based. He can still invoke companions and cast strong spells. But at four teammates he should be very easy.

After the fight warp back to Narcysus to powerup as needed. Then walk east, across a bridge and into the next village.

Village: Karlloon

Talk with the man by the entrance, powerup and exit the village. Walk straight north across a bridge to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Karlloon North Shrine

In the second room, bomb the ruined column on the corner between the two halves and move the pillar on the newly-revealed switch. Follow the path to a room with a warp and two switches. Hit the blue one, use your hook to get Dekar Blade, come back to the previous room and shoot at the far switch so you can cross the gap. Follow the path until you go upstairs. Follow the path, push the block one space up to take lion fang, continue walking and take the warp.

In this room, move the first block on your left to the left, walk up one space to move another block to the left against the wall, the next block above you up, move towards the warp to move a block to the right, move a block down so it is next to the warp and move the block above the warp right to take it.

Bomb the weak wall on the right, flick the switch and bomb the weak wall on the left to enter a restoration room. Take the warp, walk straight and confront Idura for the last time.

Boss fight: Idura

Same ol’, same ol’. Just freeze him to death.

After the fight walk straight to meet Iris again. After a short dialogue walk all the way down, push the pillars towards the hole and use your hook towards the newly-raised pillar to fall and go downstairs all the way. Take the fury ring on your right, bomb the three weak columns, take the left stairs up, follow the path and make sure you undress Dekar before going downstairs (in the room with a dog). Follow the path for a sad scene.

Back in control exit Karlloon and walk SE towards a warp shrine. On the other side walk NE to the next village.

Part 11: Learning to navigate

Village: Treadool

Walk straight down to talk to a man and say yes. Exit the village, walk to the NE (near active volcanoes) and enter the “dungeon”.

Village: Shaia Lab

Read the sign, enter the room, enter the right-hand door, walk the middle bridge and enter the left-hand door and cut the vines to enter by the right. Go downstairs and talk with Lexis Shaia for a dialogue. After, walk towards the door opposite of the vines to fall down and take the platform to stairs leading you back to the entrance.

Warp back to Aleyn to talk with Jyad – he’s in his house NE of the lone ship in the port. Talk to him and exit the village when you gain control. Warp back to Treadool and talk with the blonde woman by the entrance. After a scene exit Treadool and walk SE, cross a bridge and enter your next dungeon. Note that there are blue cores in the area, which are worth over 11,000 experience each.

Dungeon: Flower Mountain

Bomb the first door your see, follow the path to get your last tool (hammer), follow the path and whack the rocks out of your way. Once outside, go up the stairs in the next room. Use the hammer to move the pillar and go straight up to go upstairs. Whack the rock, move the block on your right and enter the next room for a puzzle.

Starting from the left-hand entrance: up, left to the spikes, up to the spikes, right until you’re above the warp and take it. From the right-hand entrance: up, left, up*2 and left on the warp. Enter the middle road to complete the puzzle.

Knock down the blacken wall to the far right to get dragon eggpower ring and flying axe. Enter the next room and follow the path outside. Use your hook and get a new capsule monster, Raddisher. Make your way back to where you pushed the block to your right (cast escape if needed). Go south of the moving plant to go outside, jump down one level, jump down from the left-most part and enter the next room. Go straight up and cut the vines for your next puzzle.

Enter the spike labyrinth, move W until a clearing 3 spaces east of the chest, walk up, left, up, left and down to get life potion. Make your way back to the entrance, exit the place and walk around the room to enter the “back door.” Enter the labyrinth again (around the cleared space in the middle), walk left towards it, up, right, up, left, up and whack the blacken wall to get snake rock. Go back to the cleared space, walk down, left, up 3 spaces from the chest, up, left, up and follow the spikes until you go upstairs.

Go upstairs, use the red healing panel as needed, knock a few rocks SE of the weak floor and slash the bushes to find another weak floor. Get the burn sword and follow the path outside to the flower key. Jump down two levels towards the right, enter the room and make your way back to the room where you pushed the block. Enter the far-right room, follow the path outside and back in (after going down stairs) and follow the straight-forward path to eventually have a fight. Being around level 30 should do

Boss fight: Rogue Flower

Plants are weak towards fire magic. Watch out for its strong individual attack. Stay healthy and burn it to the ground.

After the fight walk right to get the flower and warp back to Treadool to meet the flower girl again. After a short dialogue go meet Shaia in the port (SW), who will join you after a dialogue. Don’t bother giving him too much magic as his passage is short.

Part 12: the Ruby Icon

Once outside navigate south between a narrow space (next to Flower Mountain) and keep going SW to reach Forfeit Island.

Village: Forfeit Island

As in Lufia I there is a pawn shop where you can buy back everything you sold (right of the inn). There is a casino in the café (NW of town). I advise you play action bingo since, even without savestates, it’s the easiest game to play and win coins (the slots don’t give you much money). Accumulate 20k in order to get the jewel sonar, which will help you find the dragon eggs later one. The dragon sword isn’t worth the effort I believe. When you’ve had your gambling rush go back to your ship and navigate to the NE to continue the game.

Village: Dankirk Kingdom

Enter the castle, go up the first stairs you see and enter both rooms up the stairs. Go back downstairs for a short dialogue, follow the people who spoke and go back to the room of the ruby icon. Talk to the man who’s where it stood and exit the castle.

Warp to Clamento and talk with Jaffy for a dialogue. After a free night of sleep warp back to Dankirk. Enter the room where the icon stood to talk with the Prince for a scene. Exit the castle, go NE through a thick forest and cross a bridge to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Dankirk North Cave

Slash the middle bush on the back wall and place the vase on it. Follow the path to go downstairs, walk down, move the pillar in front of the closed eye, walk below the pillar and enter the next puzzle.

Hit the closest switch you see, go back upstairs to the room with the long blue carpet and enter the room on the right. Follow the path to press a switch, come back to the room, flick the switch below the square pillars, jump down and use your hook on the platform. Follow the path to go downstairs, follow that path across a glass bridge, jump down and bomb the bones to press a switch and press the red switch that’s now accessible. Go up on the promontory, slash the vines and bomb the weak wall a few times. Take hi magic and earth fruit, press the switch and go back upstairs. Go back to the room where you hit the first switch, cross the newly-formed glass bridge, follow the path and shoot at the switch to cross the gap. Follow the path to a fury ribbon, tear down the weak wall and enter the next room.

Go towards the back to slash vines and shoot arrows at the eyes. Once the pillars go down slash the vines near the stairs to shoot another eye and hit the switch that just fell. Go downstairs, take the warp and move the block to either side. Warp back, walk on the switch you just activated and warp back to do the same with the other switch. Take the Dankirk key, warp back to hit the last switch (move back the block towards the middle) and come back to the spike room that is now cleared.

Follow the path downstairs (watch out for the ninja, they move quickly), slash the bush and walk down a secret path for flame jewelfiggoruand dragon egg. Walk back, press the switch to open the door, cross the wooden bridge and lift the “grid” to jump down. Flick the switch below you, go back upstairs, use your hook, go downstairs and follow the path to a restoration room. Follow the path, use your hook to flick the switch and move the blocks around to form a perfect arrow. Follow the path downstairs and keep walking (it’s fairly simple) to your next fight.

Boss battle: Soldiers *4

They are purely physical, but they can still hit you hard. Just pummel them to death.

Part 13: the Rise of Amon

After a scene exit the castle and navigate south to the village next to the floodgate.

Village: Auralio Kingdom

Enter the “castle” at the back of the village. Go upstairs and talk with the prince twice (to get the VIP card, to play poker in the backroom of the casino). Exit the village, cross the floodgate and navigate south to the next city.

Village: Ferim Kingdom

Enter the castle proper, go up the stairs near the general store and enter the NE room for a dialogue. Exit the room, go up in the throne room and talk with the guard. Exit the castle, cross the bridge and walk to the NE to your next dungeon.

Dungeon: Northeast Tower

Tear down the weak wall in the second room, go upstairs, follow the path and push back the pillar you see. Cross the gap, go up the ladder into the left-hand room, cross the bridge into the “arrow room.”

Hit the switch, go on the block, go on the next block to get mysto jewel and change blocks to go back to the start. Have the first arrow pointing down and go on the platform. Take the next platform up to get samu jewel and take the other one to go back to the start.

Go upstairs, hit both arrows and flick the switch to move the bridge. Go cross it, follow the path and go to the far left of the room with a ninja and a samurai to get stun gun. Follow the path upstairs, go outside down the ladder and re-enter for your next puzzle. Just enter from the top and go: down all the way, left *2, up, right, up, left and exit at the bottom to finish turning all the tiles white. Follow the path to get trial key and exit the tower.

Re-enter, make your way back to the arrow room, have the first arrow pointing down and go on the platform. While staying on the platform hit the arrow above you and exit the room. Follow the path, go up the ladder and have the samurais move on the switches (shoot them if you need). Enter the next room to talk with Hans. After a scene warp back to Ferim and walk straight to the throne room.

After a scene exit the castle and take your boat around the peninsula where the Northeast Tower stands. Keep navigating north to a warp shrine. Take it and enter the ruined village.

Village: Agurio

Walk straight to the back to meet Iris. After a scene walk back to your ship and navigate south. Go around the first island you see and keep navigating SW to the next village.

Village: Treble

Talk with the red-headed boy and exit the village. Walk or navigate to the SE to enter the next village. Note that there are green cores in the area, and they are worth over 20k experience if you can defeat them.

Part 14: “Arty” joins

Village: Portravia

Enter the Kirmo Lab (on the promontory), go in the basement and talk with Kirmo (green hair). Say yes, and after the scene exit the village. Navigate SE until you reach impassable mountains; disembark and keep walking south to your next dungeon.

Dungeon: Mountain of No Return

Enter the room to the NW and move the right-hand statue in front of the other one to pass. In the next room, move the left-hand statue, then the right one up 2 spaces, move the pillar right under it, push the upper statue one space left, move the other statue next to it and the right-hand statue one space up, move the pillar up one space, push the upper-most statue to the far left, push the other statue down, push the pillar to the far left and push the other statue up to block the one looking left. Follow the straight-forward path (you will cross a suspended bridge outside) to your next puzzle.

Walk right until you are pushed back; start walking down to push the statue one space down and the other one a space right. Go back up, walk right and down and push the statue one space down. Go back around to the first statue you pushed and push it down one space. Walk left, all the way down, move up the first statue you meet (so it faces a wall), go back down, up, move the statue facing left up so it faces the chest and get aqua sword. Move right towards the outside rim, push the statue down so it faces the wall, come back to the statue facing down and push it towards the other statue. Exit the room and move towards the elf girl for a fight. Being in the mid-30s should do; undress Shaia if you want as it’s his last fight.

Boss fight: Gargoyle *4

They are fierce, but they fortunately seem weak towards fire. Stay healthy and they will go down.

After a scene exit the village, cross a bridge south and walk towards the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Divine Shrine

Go downstairs, use your hook on the NE corner, right, up, up towards the right-hand side of the pillar “trio”, right, push the pillar as far as you can, come back to the trio and take the left-hand side and follow the path to shoot a switch. Use your hook towards the newly-raised platform and make your way towards the spikes to go upstairs.

Lift the bottom-right urn NW of the stairs, cross the lowered spikes and get rocket ring. Fall down, walk back to the entrance, use your hook towards the pillar SW of the stairs, up, left, up, push the pillar as far as you can, left, down, follow the path up, push the pillar right, walk down and use your hook to go upstairs. Follow the path to a revive armor and fall back down (use your hook SW).

Come back to the origin and repeat the pattern you took for the rocket ring. But instead, go up the stairs and walk straight up to get heart key. Go back downstairs, go back to the “vase room” and lift the bottom-right vase to the SE to fall down. Use your hook to make your way towards the next stairs going up (just make sure you have at least one space to “land”). Follow the straightforward path, and when you reach movable platform use your hook to press the switch. Follow another straightforward path to go upstairs. Whack the weak wall and press 3-2-4-1-5 to get dragon egg; whack the wall behind to get holy whip. Go back down, follow the path, push the pillars with your hammer and walk straight up for a scene. After the scene, walk straight to a “warp” and exit the shrine and warp back to Eserikto.

After a scene warp back to Portravia. Go back to Shaia, and once in control warp to Parcelyte. Submerge (you have random fights under water), go SW into a hole and explore the cave (take the eddies to go up) to get secret fruit*2 and a capsule monster, Red Fish. Exit once you’re down (towards the SW of the cave) and warp back to Portravia. Submerge, navigate SW around an island and towards another hole. Follow the path to get to the next dungeon.

Part 15: Iris’ true face

Dungeon: Shrine of Vengeance

Go upstairs, hit the switches so the right one is green, flick the lower switch, hit the left-hand switch and proceed. Follow the path, hit the pillar, cross the gap and follow the path. In the room with the vase, have the undead float towards the switch on the other side and imprison it by placing the urn on the switch. Walk south to go downstairs, walk through the wall to flick a switch, come back, follow the path to the NW, shoot an arrow from the black tile, cross the bridge and use your hook to get to power robe. Use your hook again, follow the path south, push the pillars in the water, bomb the torch on the wall and get freeze sword and boom sword. Exit, come back in and have the right-hand switch turn green and follow the path downstairs. Hit the switch and push the blue block; then hit the switch again to push the red blocks to get the ghost key. Go back up, walk left until you go upstairs (past an empty warp), follow the path to the NE, break the first weak wall you see for heal armor and break the far-left weak wall to follow a path to 1F. Follow the path, bomb the fallen column, then the bones to fall down from a weak floor and use your hammer on both weak columns. Go upstairs to 3F, walk left to a weak wall to get evil jewel at the top of the stairs and bright armor behind the weak wall protected by Hades Chariot. Come back down and right to smash down a weak column. Walk right, “iron” the carpet with the block, go beyond the restoration room and go upstairs for a fight. Being around level 40 should do.

Boss battle: Venge Ghost

Hopefully you got Artea fry and equipped your team with holy weapons because you will need it. The ghost can cast firebird and thunder. Just whack it to death.

After the fight go in the next room for cursed bow and warp back to the submarine. Navigate your way to the NE around the island to reach the next village.

Village: Barnan

Talk with Iris and exit the village. Submerge, navigate south and re-emerge once you hit an island to enter the next village.

Village: Durale

Powerup as needed (the magic shop on the NE has Zap) and exit the village. Navigate underwater to the west to the tip of a small island to your next dungeon.

Dungeon: Tower of Truth

Enter the room on the right, press 3-4-2-1 to open the left door and 3-2-1-4 for the right-hand one. Follow the path to flick a switch, come back to the first room, knock down the weak wall, move across the gap and follow the path upstairs. Follow the path SW to your next puzzle. Make sure you freeze the “siren” to avoid fighting more monsters.

Stand in front of the “black magnet”, hit the switch, walk right until you are pushed, use your hook, hit the switch again (sharp turn), walk down, left, hit the switch (sharp turn) and exit the room.

Go up the first ladder, enter the room, use your hook and walk on the weak floor. Knock the weak wall, get super sword, knock the weak wall and use your hook to go back outside (SW of the room). Go up 2 ladders, enter the next room, press 4-2-5-1-3(use your hook for that one) and go downstairs. Follow the path, place the crate on the left switch and a vase on the right switch to enter the SW door. Go upstairs, walk to the SE to get song rockghost ring and ghostclothes. Walk north to go upstairs and follow the path to your next puzzle.

Put the crate on the top switch and the vase on the bottom one. Push the block on the lower switch, put the crate on the switch, put the crate on the next switch, walk left to push the block up, put the crate on the next switch, bomb it and take the truth key.

Make your way back to the ladders and make it to the very top. On 6F walk south to go outside, re-enter and talk with Iris. Get ready to fight after a scene. Try to be around level 40.

Boss battle: white dragon *3

They are weak towards fire. They can cast cold stream and stronger. Just burn them to a crisp (Maxim was able to kill two dragons with Firestorm).

After the fight see the true face of Iris… Exit the tower and navigate west (underwater, you will need to go between a narrow passage of rocks) to reach the next village.

Part 16: Under the sea

Village: Chaed

Powerup if you need and exit the village. Cross two bridges (go under water if you want) and enter the largest, most complicated dungeon of the game.

Dungeon: Dragon Mountain

Go up one level and enter a room with bushes like this (the Xs are empty spaces)

x123

xX45

x6x7

8

Slash 2, place a bomb, slash 4, place a bomb, move down, place a bomb, move to 8 to slash it and move to the next room. Get the sonic ring from the newly-opened door, use your hook and go upstairs. Go upstairs to the SW, use your hook to cross the gap and lure the monster on the weak floor. Enter the room south to go outside, follow the path to the next room (using your hook), follow the path inside to get to the magma key and come back inside to fall on the weak floor (if you don’t freeze the enemies, you will fight all three one after the other). Exit the room, go up to levels into the first room you see and move up for your next puzzle.

Move back the two pillars you can reach with your hammer, move across towards the left-most, hit the right pillar, use your hook, move the pillar above you (and to your left) and move left,  move up and get magic scales-pro ring and miracle. Move the left-most pillar you see, cross, move the pillar on your right and cross, move the right-most pillar back and cross to eventually go upstairs. Follow the path to the most frustrating puzzle. And since the order of the growth is random, please watch the following video to have an idea of the patterns (don’t forget to use savestates, fire arrows, bombs and sharp turns)

https://youtu.be/k58Nz22nHuo?t=7m23s

When you’re done follow the path out and back in, place one bomb next to the blacken wall, one in diagonal with it with another one next to it, have the first bomb explode, place a bomb under where the first one was and use your hammer to open the wall after the second explosion. Go down the hole and the stairs to resolve the “world’s most difficult trick.” It’s not so much difficult as it is long. Please watch this video to see how it’s done

https://youtu.be/k58Nz22nHuo?t=9m17s

When you’re done get mega shieldholy robelegend helm and lizard blow. Go downstairs, follow the path up and get s-power ringmiracleand s-myst ring. Slash the bush on the left to jump on a switch, cross the bridge to get hidora rock, jump down, walk left to use your hook, walk left and up to smash a blacken wall to get gorgon rock. Cross the large bridge, go downstairs, use your hook, use it twice again and go up to talk with the old man. You will get into a fight; make sure you have ice or water-based weapons and that you have the lizard blow equipped too. Being in the mid-40s should do

Boss fight: Fire Dragon

The name reveals his weakness (ice). It can cast firebird and incendiary (it looks like Camu’s attack). It can also bite, so make sure you cast a healing spell have it casts magic.

After the fight go down on the SE side and follow the narrow path up. You will eventually go to a blacken wall hiding a miracle. Now warp back to Chaed and go to the old man’s house (in the NW). Talk to him, exit the village and plunge. Go north in the hole inside the crescent island and follow the path to the next village. Note that on the island you can find the capsule monster Myconido.

Village: Preamarl

Enter the “palace” to talk with the Queen. Exit the village and go back into the sea. Navigate north towards the hole among the three islands, follow the path and take the middle current. Land on the platform, talk with the mermaids and be ready to fight.

Boss fight: Ghost ship

If you have holy weapons and spells, this fight is a joke. Be wary of its companions, which can be a nuisance.

After the fight enter the second eddy from the right and follow the path to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Submarine Cave Shrine

Walk up straight to talk with the Queen, enter the shrine and make your way in the glitchy room. If you can, take off the “layers” of the emulator to see clearer. If you can’t, the general path is up; when you can’t move try left or right.

After a scene, warp to Portravia to talk with Shaia. Exit the city, warp to Dankirk and plunge to circle around the continent. Avoid the unpassable rocks and you will eventually find an opening. Go towards the NE to go back inside Dankirk North Cave. Land the submarine and follow the path to the next village.

Village: “3y Kingdom” (that’s what’s written)

Walk outside to be imprisoned. After a dialogue walk left (the opened cell is a restoration room) and enter the next room for a boss fight.

Boss fight: Soldiers *4

The exact same fight as in the Dankirk Cave. Just get rid of them.

Follow the path, walk towards the lion to slash vines and knock a weak wall. Walk up, push the pillar towards the back of the room, shoot at the switch and get basement key. Come back, enter the room with the squid circling and press a switch close to a door with a vase next to it. Enter the room, push the pillar on the switch, cross the gap to flick the switch and go back one room. Follow the path, shoot the eye if the door is closed and follow the straightforward path to a room with three monsters and doors. Take the SE door, follow the path to flick a switch, use your hook *2, take the miracle, make your way back to the original room and take the upper door. Follow the path to a room full of platforms.

Walk on the first one, walk to the middle one, walk to the middle-right one, walk to the NE one and exit the room. Keep walking for a scene and a difficult fight, even around level 45.

Boss battle: Soldier *4

No, not that one.

Boss battle: tank

That one. It’s very strong (attack-all tricks like machine gun and incendiary bomb, very strong magic gale bullet that attacks and can mute and piercer, which looks like Camu’s attack on one person) and is only weak (?) to holy magic. Fortunately it is slow so make sure you stay healthy to destroy it.

After a scene walk back to Shaia to fix your flying ship. After a dialogue you are free to explore the planet.

Part 16.1: Treasure hunting

Now is the time to catch up on the treasures you missed. If you explore more than the guide shows you, you probably noticed treasures that were inaccessible. Well, they now are with all your tools!

Go to the Cave to Sundletan and enter the first room. Cross the bridge, press the switch under the bush, walk down, follow the path, slash your way to the switch on the far-right of the room (with a vase) and take the second path you see to go downstairs. Use your hook to getdragon egg and exit.

Go to the Alunze Northwest Cave, make the first bridge, enter the room and use your hammer to get tuff buckler and eron hat. Now go to Alunze castle, whack the weak wall, walk to the far right and get water jewel.

Go to the Dragon Mountain and make your way back to where you hit the wall to go to the world’s most difficult trick. But instead of whacking the wall go downstairs, take the left-hand stairs and fight your way to get s-mind ringkraken rock and angry ring. Go back one level, take the right-hand stairs, follow the path and go down to the SE. Use your hook, walk west to get s-witch ring and Hipower ring and exit.

Now make your way to Eserikto, fly to the NW and enter the next village.

Village: Pico Forest

It’s really just to warp easier the next time. Fly to the shrine in the middle of the lake to see the Dragon Egg. Get the Ancient Shield and the eggs will be scattered once again.

However, unlike Lufia I they will be placed at random over all the treasures you have opened. Remember the jewel sonar I have told you about? This is the quickest way you have to find the eggs. It will be long, but it's worth it: go back to every dungeon and use the sonar. Every time it rings back it means that there is an unopened chest, meaning that it’s a dragon egg. For your following wishes I suggest you take the potion sets (unless you want to grow your monsters, in which case I suggest you take the fruits). Don’t give any to Maxim, however. At one point the dragon will tell you that you have found all the eggs and invite you to a fight. Make sure your health is at its maximum!

Boss battle: Egg Dragon

Even though the boss has 2^16 hit points (over 65k), it’s actually fairly easy. Cast a weak healing spell (or use a potion) and have the next person after attack do kill it instantly.

After the fight you will get egg sword and egg ring, which boosts all stats to 999 and gut to 199.

Part 17: the end

Now get on with your mission. Fly to the islands where you found Dual Blade and enter the village.

Last village: Narvick

Go talk with the elder in the house at the back. After a short dialogue exit the village and walk south to enter the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Shuman Island Tower

Follow the path, walk up some stairs, follow the path, enter the first door you see and follow the path to get s-ice ring. Come back to the first door you entered, follow the path on your left, enter the left door, enter the other left door for s-water ring, enter the right door, follow the path, defeat the floating undead to reveal stairs, follow the path and keep walking right before entering the last door to eventually get to a s-thunder ring. Take the door you missed, defeat the dragon and walk up for a fight (go near the epitaph). Being around level 50 should do.

Boss fight: Gades

Just have holy weapons equipped and pummel him to death (very… kind of).You are so strong that you shouldn’t need to heal.

After the fight you will get pearl armor for Maxim. Go back to Narvick, talk with the elder and fly NE to the next dungeon.

Dungeon: Stradha Island Tower

Walk left to go up some stairs, follow the path to go up more stairs, keep following the path and fight a floating undead monster to reveal stairs. Follow the path, open the door, follow the path to the left, go up a few stairs, enter the first door you see and fight a dragon to reveal more stairs. Just follow the rest of the path for another boss fight.

Boss fight: Amon

Once again, equip your holy weapons and pummel him to death. Be careful with his individual attack, which is still strong. His chaos wave can induce confusion.

After the fight you will get the pearl helm for Maxim, which IP attack can reflect any attack back and yield twice the damage. Escape the tower, warp back to Narvick to talk with the elder and fly NW for the next dungeon. Make sure you complete all the missions since you won’t be able to go back after the next set of events.

Dungeon: Kamirno Island Tower

Enter the door to the NE, go up the stairs and enter the room for s-fire ring. Walk left to open another door, walk left, go up some stairs, follow the path and defeat the “minotaur” to reveal some stairs. Follow the path, walk W of the door, follow the path and defeat the floating undead to reveal stairs eventually leading to the summit.

After getting the pearl shield you will see a long scene. Once you gain control make sure you purchase everything you need at the shop. When done go talk to Shaia for another long scene. Once in control you will be in the last dungeon.

Last dungeon: Shrine of Daos

Rejoice, there are no random fights. Also note that all the treasures contain miracles. Anyway, walk left for a treasure, go downstairs, enter the middle room for treasures *3, enter the right room and go upstairs for a treasure and walk in the middle for a fight.

Boss battle: Gades

For some reason your IP bar will always be full. Use it to pummel him to death with your holy weapons and spells.

Go upstairs, enter the room on your right for treasure, come back and follow the path, enter the room on your left for a treasure, keep following the path upstairs and go around the promontory for treasure *2 (the stairs you see are accessible after the first flight of stairs and lead to a restoration room). Come back in the middle and go up to your next fight.

Boss battle: Amon

He can also cast Ice Valk, Thunder so make sure you cast mirror and brilliance. He should quickly become history.

Go upstairs, circle around the room before the glass bridge for treasure *3 and come back to cross the bridge to cross it and fight.

Boss battle: Erim

Just as in Lufia 1 she is the toughest opponent. Make sure you cast brilliance to lessen the damage she causes. She can cast devastation wave and dark fry (can be reflected with dark mirror from the hairpin).

After the fight just walk on the warp, and keep walking to the final fight.

Final boss: Daos

Cast brilliance, mirror and dark mirror to reflect some magic. His terror wave will inflict various status (can’t be reflected by mirror) and his dark reflector will reflect the next attack so be very careful. He can also cast thunder and firebird. Stay healthy and he’s history.

After the end scene, you will still have a final mission. Take the upper warp, go up, right, up, down, right, up, left and defeat the first stone. Go beyond the first stone, follow the path, go up, right, down, right and destroy the second stone. Follow the path to the NE, enter the room, follow a long and curvy path up to destroy the last stone.

Enjoy the ending. Don’t forget to watch to the very end to see your stats!

Village: Clamento

and bomb the darken wall.

Press the switch and put the pots on 2 and 3

Wow, you never cease to amaze me. Another spectacular guide from you, very well detailed and with each part differentiated.

However, I would recommend you put each section in bold or underline it, besides giving them a different font color. That way, is easier to see when a new section starts and what type of section is. Also, that purple color you selected doesn't display very well, at least to me, so you should try to put it in bold or change the font color.

What an awesome way to start the year! Do you intend in being the opposite of Laian, posting your guides on the first days of the month instead of the last ones?

Thank you for your kind words. I DID try to at least make the "Part X" section larger but I failed to publish that version at least 4 times. I will take your suggestion into account, hoping that the next posting will not be as hard to do.

As for the "timing": I do it the first of the month for Tour de Vizzed. Otherwise I tend to do it towards the second half of the month.

janus : I'm sorry to say janus but this walkthrough is poor. And that is not how your walkthroughs were in the past. The text is small to read and the colour fonts you used the bright ones? You didn't use them rightly. There were a lot of things I saw in this walkthrough you rushed it. You really did and I can see that. What happened to taking your time to see your walkthrough is in quality? I'm disappointed in you janus and not happy with the walkthrough. Lately I have seen your walkthroughs have not been up to standard. I had high hopes for you as a game guider and you didn't stick to keeping them in tact. That's all I have to say. Don't think I am attacking you. Because I am not. You need to see the mistakes you have made to correct them, that's how you improve. And  you have not been improving at all. And you needed to know this.

The text is small? It seems to be the same fonts as usual. And what parts have I rushed? Why is the quality so inferior compared to other guides? The lack of images?

janus : Yes...the text is small. Next time please make it a bit more bigger so it is readable. Or put it in a colour that is readable. White won't always be readable. What seemed to have been rushed the wordings in a way some parts was kinda cut of when you were explaining certain parts. And as for the colour use ones that is readable such as yellow or red. The purple that you use I couldn't read it sadly. If you want to use purple its better to adjust the colour in the edit mode, so then you can make it readable ok? That's the most important part to choose carefully of colours that are readable and able to be seen as well. And why is the quality so poor you ask? If you can remember I was once a game guider and still am. In the past I always took time reading other peoples threads of walkthroughs, and I can tell by reading if they are poor or not. Lets use one of your old walkthroughs as an example this thread

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=88741

I remember enjoying reading this one, although I forgot to give you some feedback. This wasn't one of your best ones. But it was one of your good ones you worked so hard on as well.

another thing. Yes lack of images. Remember I once told you explaining the guide alone won't help. You'll need to add images always. Do for every guide that you make. What happened to that? Like I said that was something else I felt you rushed and didn't put into your guide. All I ask janus please go back to the quality you used to have on your walkthroughs. That's all I ask. :/

Strange... others have told me that past guides had "too many" images. But now that I know that it will not negatively affect the server, I know I am fine.

As for formatting: it was hard as hell to publish. Despite my best tries, I needed at least 4 times to publish it because I had "an empty thread." I may edit them after publish, then.
