janus : I think morality plays a part in how one deals with promiscuity as well. Women are traditionally taught to look for a partner to spend their lives with and society looks down on women with many partners. While on the other hand, society seems to see men seeking as many partners as possible as being much more acceptable and excusable....possibly by blaming genetics.

That being said, I still firmly believe what I previously said. Who are we to say how others are to act if it doesn't endanger someone else?

I like promiscuity because it promises more fun when I go out and have fun.  It means girls aren't afraid to dance, flirt, smile at me, and generally everyone can enjoy the situation without people worrying what others think.

Promiscuity is really confidence coupled with an attitude that others' opinions don't matter.  That's sexy and fun because no one's worried about anyone else.

The only thing is that people need to protect themselves from STDs.  Use protection and everything is better.

Vanelan : All the way with you on this. I'm usually a very patient person when it comes to others around me. I may speak out my mind and give my opinions of situations rather bluntly, but I'm still that. The only thing that irks me is harm to others.

Is being overly promiscuous a problem? I say yes, and I will even state that I don't think gay sex is really that moral (note that this is a different thing all together from allowance of marriage and relationship). However, that doesn't mean that I'm going to force anyone to do differently as long as there is consent and lack of harm. I wouldn't like others doing so to me, so why would I do so to them?

Ghostbear1111 : No doubt that promiscuity can be good for some people. However (at least for me), there came a time where I felt that, among the pleasure, there was a void. It was filled only when I met my (now) husband.

SWTerra : I am always glad to see conservatives who are true to their small-government mentality. The most vocal ones usually want morality enforced by the state.

janus : Well, even from the religious point of view, while it's true that the Bible seemingly frowns down upon gay marriage, the only thing that's actually labeled as immoral is gay sex since it can't procreate; it's the same way that protected sex is seen as immoral, in what I know of the Bible (which I admit is shoddy at best).

And also, I'm not exactly one to call myself conservative. I just agree with what I agree with and ride my own way. I don't try to agree to a group of ideas labeling a certain mindset; I just try to make my own. But, at the same time, I guess in this regard, I am pretty conservative here. I'd just like to reiterate that I do believe that gays should be allowed to marry, but I still find casual (and by default, gay) sex to be immoral. Regardless, I'm not perfect, so I don't expect everyone else to be so, either.

janus : So you're not actually committed to each other? He's allowed to fool around? And I bet if it was really uncommon to cheat in the gay community, that would actually encourage your husband also not to cheat.

Txgangsta : we ARE committed to each other. We do not fool around unless, as he puts it, it is "an opportunity of a lifetime." So far it happened to neither of us. We are not looking for adventures in any way.

janus : You said that it has happened, and that it's allowed to happen. That doesn't sound like a commitment to me. Sorry bruh.
