I think it should be clear enough when that thread comes out that it has spoilers.

It sucks that you might not be able to see it right away but there is only so much time I can hold this back for everyone else.

I'll actually be seeing it Tuesday since Tuesday is $5 day at the theater near my house. I was just thinking of others who might not be able to see it  so soon after its release.

The fact that this movie reportedly made 57 million LAST NIGHT ALONE is just crazy. Considering this was a "preview launch" night, that's just crazy. Now that the movies available in over 4000 nationwide theaters, it will be crazy to see if it can shatter Deathly Hallows 2 record 91$million on it's opening day.

Jordanv78 : it'll break 100 million. There are probably 200 showings where I live alone. This movie will easily be the biggest box office hit ever (or so far until the next one comes out). The hype has been huge and everything I've heard (like you said) has been positive.

I just want to say one thing. Geeogree, I think you have the best username on the whole site. Or at least the most memorable. Literally every time I hear, say, or think the word "agree", it immediately gets replaced with geeogree. Your name is now part of my daily vocabulary. Oh and by the way (Star Wars seven will be the best movie you have seen in a long time). Does that kind of post count as a spoiler?

geeogree : I'm not saying I'm surprised that it's doing well, but when you hear the actual numbers it's doing, it's just insane. Even I couldn't fathom that, and I've been a huge fan since I was a little kid.

I agree though. It seems like everyone on my facebook feed is going or at least talking about it

They cannot and, yes, I ain't seen it yet, (cries) but hey, they gotta go by what the movies canonically have suggested, and even by the official bantam del rey novels. Ergo, not ANYTHING will happen, what's expected in the storyline shall happen, making this the saddest movie I'll ever watch. Can you imagine being such a star wars fan that you pretty much know this movie's plot plus the next two's? YAY. Not that fun. But again legacy...they simply cant just do whatever, they must remain true to the canonical ouput.

I do not follow the EU, but that makes it pretty clear that most, if not all, of the EU is no longer canon as far as the movies go.

manicman66 : Even if you know everything about Star Wars, I'm all but positive that this movie flipped mostly everything around. I'm going to try my best not to spoil anything since this isn't in the movie, but there's a rumor saying one of the characters is gender swapped from another Star Wars movie or book.

If you watched the other 6 and then watch this one, there's stuff that you would have never prediected.

I just had someone stupid enough to test my resolve in relation to this thread. And that person earned himself a 7 day ban.

I'm pretty sure the spoiler was a lie but regardless I made it as clear as I could that I didn't want spoilers and anyone with a grain of decency would avoid posting spoilers yet.

It's fun to see how many people went to see the movie last night all dressed up, with swords and such. I've seen people take less seriously cosplay competitions than what these guys did to attend the cinema

Some friends of mine went to watch it just tonight. They are still inactive in Whatsapp, and I hope they will remain like this for some time. Not like they would give out spoilers, just comment on how awesome a battle was, but they are annoying enough when talking about anything else that I cannot imagine how it can be to deal with them and their spoilers.

I could go watch it, but I'll refrain from doing so for now. My friends know nothing about Star Wars universe, they just go see it for the action and the battles without giving a damn to storyline. My family knows even less, and I don't want to deal with their questions about the plot before, during and after the play.

I was gonna see it tonight, but dad and I had an argument again, which resulted in him not taking me to see the movie, but let all of my siblings go instead. That's fine. I have enough money from my birthday to get tickets for me and a friend. I still would have liked to see it tonight, but my dad has to be an ass.

Not only did the movie break records, it destroyed them. Broke the record for Thursday night showings by 14 million and the record for biggest opening day by 30 million (120). At that rate it will destroy the opening weekend record of 208 million.

zanderlex : I've seen early estimates (just based on sales so far) that they are going to break 250 million by the end of the weekend. That's just unreal. Still, not surprised that this movie has been hyped so much and has so many theatres showing it that it will easily break records.

Just as long as no one ruins it for me before Monday then I'll be fine.

geeogree : Many people say the movie was really good, apparently got a 95% on rotten tomatoes, so having a movie with that much hype AND is actually that good I'm the end is amazing, and usually doesn't happen.

Getting ready to leave for the movie right now. I'm pretty excited now that the day is finally here.

I'll post my reactions when I get home but I am cautiously optimistic based on the reactions that other people have posted.

manicman66 : totally worth seeing. I would pay to see it again (although I likely won't) because of how good it was.

It wasn't perfect by any means but it blew 1, 2, and 3 out of the water.

I'm kind of surprised about the movies' reception over here, but above anything it gave me one more reason to hate this country, and this one is veeery big.

The movie has amassed 8.4 million during its first weekend, counting Thursday night as well. A very high number, but falls short to other movies. For example, it fell 0.6 million short of what the last movie of Twilight amassed in the same time. Twilight... Yay us.

Still, it shall possess the record for being displayed in +1300 theaters all over the country. Better this than nothing, they say.
