Well, David actually doesn't have a lot of direct influence on who gets picked and who doesn't. That decision is left up to the globals and myself when it comes to forum moderators and then mostly up to triune when it comes to staff. Obviously David approves every selection that is made but it's not him picking each person specifically by himself.


As for how I got my rank, I was an admin on a previous forum so when I joined Vizzed I was made a global mod. I worked my way up to admin some time later and have been a staff member on and off ever since. It wasn't anything specific that I did that got me the spot but more that I was already staff before that got me the spot.



As for why I pick people - partially it is activity based. Mods need to be active members of the site so that is a big part. The other part is my personal interaction with those members. If I don't know you at all it's likely I won't pick you because I know nothing about you except for the little you tell me. If I do know you then I'm more likely to pick you because we have some sort of relationship for me to make a decision based on.

I got the highest and single most important rank.... a NEWBIE, I achieved this great and important rank by making the single most important life changing hardest decision....deciding to register.My rank is very important because users with a rank such as mine bring unique fresh ideas and posts personalities etc. to the site. I think what I love most about my abilities is I can only make one thread a day, this ability helps me because I can honestly sit down and plunder a good topic for me to post about. Also think about it without the newbies why would there need to be staff, moderators and admin's if there's no one on site to moderate lol.(This was a joke post)

I obtained site staff rank by applying in June 2014, but had to wait until the second wave in early July to get the spot. I applied for game reviewer and game guide writer, and obtained the latter. I'm glad it turned out that way, thanks to being a guide writer I've found an extra motivation to challenge those games where I stuck myself years ago, or even try some new games and sometimes systems. I've discovered a ton of interesting things, and I'm sure I'll find a ton more.

After that, I tried to apply for local moderator this Spring, but didn't get the position. I tried again this September, with much better results as you can see. Like when I applied for staff, I wasn't too sure about my chances, but either if I did or didn't apply, "no" was already an answer, so I had everything to gain and nothing to lose. 

I currently watch over General Chat, Your Forum, Sports, Crazy House and Game Guides. I originally had Game Reviews scheduled, but traded it for General Chat in agreement with a fellow mod and good friend. I wouldn't mind watching over a couple more forums, but for starters, five is already a good number, even more considering I'm alone in Sports, due to that forum not having much activity.

What I love the most about my abilities? Hard to say. Site staff has nearly no powers, and I haven't fully used yet my powers as local. If I have to choose, being able to mod the Game Guides forum, since I'm greatly involved with that forum and I like taking action with its posts, threads and rules.

Something else I would like to share is that mods are indeed chosen by activity. I only got hired for local when I was able to safely score +100 posts a month. Being picked for site staff only depends on your abilities regarding the role you want to take. Of course, in both cases, you must be a good member and abide by the rules, but other than that, the requirements are as specified above.

My first time as staff was back in June 2014 when I applied in the Staff Applications and was hired as a Walkthrough Maker. Sadly life got too busy to the point where I was not comfortably hitting the quota so I stepped down a few months after.

My second time as staff started in May 2015 when I was hired as a Local Moderator after applying in the Local Mod apps. I currently moderate the Your Forum, Crazy House, Game Guides Forum, School Forum and Video Game Crazyness Forum.

In September 2015 I was offered the position of Minecraft Server Admin and I'm currently serving both roles.

I didn't actually apply at all for this position. Back when I was a mod, I knew that you could do other staff actions that weren't your job but i wanted to find out if there was something I could. This was way back when the VGR had only Minecraft for PC games, so I got curious and asked David I I could spend some time adding PC games to the site so there would be more. He told me he was actually in the process of bulk uploading PC games and would do that about 2 days after he responded and that after he did that, that I could add any games that he missed.

Literally hours after that conversation, the same night, he came to me and asked if I wanted the position.

What happened was, applications went out in 2013 sometime after David introduced the CP system, I was one of the few who went in,
and one of them few that have stepped down.
My staff cycle was short, but really I have no interest in other ranks.

I'm perfectly fine being a trusted as I am now.

I got my spot on staff as a game reviewer back in June 2015. I also applied for screenshot adder and video game character manager, but I got the game reviewer spot, which was the one I wanted to be the most. I was one of the few who made it on the staff in Wave 1 of the applications. Review making is my favorite thing to do on this site, so I'm glad I got recognized for it. I now focus on making reviews for games that don't already have featured reviews. I've played many games in my lifetime, so I have a large selection to choose from. I'll be a game reviewer for a long time, I can guarantee that.

I became Site Staff (Content Adder and Price Guide Manager) in September 2013 when the new Vizzed Price Guide feature came out. Of course with a new thing, David needs more Staff to help out. I decided to apply and I got it (somehow). I really enjoyed both jobs. I stepped down in May 2015 because of reasons.

I became Local Moderator in September 2015 with a few other users. I was supposed to get it earlier because I am technically EidecticMemory's replacement (who stepped down earlier this year). I currently mod the Help/Question, Video Game Franchises, Pokémon, Game Design, Game Discussion, Vizzed Market and Story/Art forums. You'll see me everywhere so watch out.

A thing I like the most about my rank is being able to mod my favorite forums.

The site was undergoing a reestablishment of moderators, and geeo the admin opened up applications for global mod. I wasn't thinking too much of myself getting it, but I know that I can be responsible in maintaining the purpose of the forums as well as continuing the culture of Vizzed being a safe and friendly community. And then I got the position sometime in 2013, I believe, and I've been a global mod to this day.

I got into the Vizzed staff when I applied about 6 months ago. I really wanted to get into the video position - I have the most of any users - but I got the game guide one instead. I guess that those 2-3 guides were good enough to get me on board!

Before that I had also reach a trusted position, I daresay because of the guides too.

I used to be a Local Moderator. There were about 3 openings for a mod so I applied. To everyone's dismay, I got the position. Then got demoted because of a secret conspiracy I was conducting behind everyone's back. Nothing interesting here.

I was a Local Mod for a really good chunk of my time on Vizzed from November 27, 2013 to September 21, 2015. I had to retire because I was full of anger, frustration, and depression, I didn't want to take it on innocent lives on Vizzed, so I temporarily retired from modding for a little bit and left the site for a couple of months to recover myself. I came back again all better and waiting for the time to be mod once again. When will that happen, when the time comes.

How I became mod in the first place, Play4Fun (when he was Global at the time) seen something in me back in November 2013 (at that time, Local applications were open and I applied) and (P4F) had a chat with Geeogree about adding me and thus, became one.
