If all the democrats dropped out and you were forced to vote republican, who would you vote for? Now, this is just a worst case scenario and probably wouldn't happen(This probably has a 1%-5% chance of happening) but am curious as to who you guys would pick if this were to happen. Be honest, Be nice and follow all of the rules especially the debate forum rules. If this gets too out of hand, i'll have a mod close this.

I would vote for myself, even though I'm not able to run, simply because I don't like any of the candidates.

It's not that I wouldn't vote Republican, I consider everyone. But I do not like any of this election's candidates. If I had to vote for one, it would be Rubio, but even then, I would feel awful voting for them.

Feel the Bern. Bernie Sanders 2016.

Edit - Woops, I typo'd the year.

I wouldn't vote. That is the worst possible scenario. I hate all of those republicans, and I don't want to be part of what makes America a bad country.

Just vote Bernie. Feel the Bern. Bernie 2016.

Is feel the bern the common phrase the average twelve year old tells themselves because they don't know politics? There isn't a politician out there that will be beneficial to any gamer or this site to be fair. That being said, NO such thing as an honest politician! I refuse to vote for anyone due to that reason. Why vote for pure evil? If I choose from Hillary to Trump to "berning for Bernie" I don't win because they all three want to cut my social security as well as detriment the internet and the commonwealth of gaming as I know it. I don't win and nor do you. Also, at least since the florida rigging the polls have been just that, RIGGED. No point in voting on a president that's been decided by not the people, but the politicians...haha, Americans sure are fools, but I choose to be one of the the few Americans that are not, thanks!

manicman66 : Well said manicman66.  Voting these days is as worthless as sticking your head in the ground to get away from a rabid wolf.  Both sides are the same side of the evil coin.  WE, THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE!!!!  They all want to take your freedoms so they can sit and laugh at how stupid we are to let them do this to us.  To believe in war is to think that war solves problems.  It's just a money maker to them and a life taker for EVERYONE.  Sorry about the caps

If I had to vote, maybe Rand Paul because I've heard he's not the worst one. Or one of the lesser known parties.
If I didn't have to vote, I wouldn't vote at all. I don't agree with most Republicans on anything aside for a few economic standpoints. Other than that, our moral compasses don't add up, and I can't really look past that.

There are MANY reasons why I don't like talking about politics, and I think Manicman hit the nail on the head for most of my reasons. Bipartisan government sucks, though, because ultimately it limits the goals of people in that party to such generalities, whether or not they want to do something different from that. I'm not saying that it isn't filled with lies, but even the honest ones can't really do what they claim. This is a problem.

Not to mention we actually do not vote for the President. The Electoral College does that. Your vote literally means nothing.

Why I would not vote for a few of them:

Trump=He is a loudmouth and someone who went bankrupt at least 3 times. And we expect him to run a country?

Jeb Bush=Nuff said,it is another Bush and the Bush name is linked to weakness and stupidity.

Rand Paul=Still dogged by his father's name and probably won't make much of an impression.

Although I would rather vote for any of these men over Hillary Clinton.

SWTerra :

I agree about one thing...

manicman did hit the nail on the head on the exact reason I don't like talking about politics.

And that's because he stooped to a low point and attacked the person, not the argument.

"Is feel the bern the common phrase the average twelve year old tells themselves because they don't know politics?"

By associating a meaningless catchphrase to a subsection of people who are pre-adolescent, they attempt to make you feel lesser, just because you support a candidate that is the lesser of two evils.

Personally, I identify as Centrist. I have both conservative and liberal values, to varying degrees, and cannot say I would vote conservative or democrat in any given year. I try to get down to it, and find the fairest compromise of those in the race.

This year, it just happens to be Bernie Sanders, because among other things, he's promising to do something about healthcare that I believe would be beneficial to many (including myself). His proposed healthcare system actually makes a world of sense, much much more than Obamacare ever did.

By getting rid of the middle man, you bring healthcare to the many, without increasing the tax burden drastically.

Is it a perfect solution out of the box? No, but it's a stepping stone, and that's more than I can say for anything other candidates are promising on that platform (the majority just want to strike down Obamacare and go back to only the rich being able to afford healthcare).

The president doesn't even have a lot of power. We aren't voting for someone who will do everything they say. When we vote, we're voting for a symbol, more than anything. And that's fine. You will never find a politician anymore who is truly about the people... but Bernie Sanders is probably as close as you will get to it.

This is why, if I couldn't vote for him for whatever reason, I would be more likely than not to just not vote. In the face of having to vote for Satan or Satan's cousin, would you vote at all? (I'm not saying conservatives are Satan, just that this year, the GOP is strong on the quantity over quality wagon)

Well this is just my opinion and mine only.

I would vote for Rand Paul I probably will in real life. I like Rand's views on ending the Patriot Act, auditing the fed, he is pro gun and he wants us to stop being the world police.

Rand wants to pull all troops out of Syria, Afghanistan, and other countries. He said two weeks ago we should not be arming the Syrian Rebels are be in other countries businesses. I really like that. I feel like we should not be putting our men and women at risk for other countries problems.

Most of all, He is pro gun and believes law abiding citizens should be able to own a gun.

So I would vote for Rand Paul

Always remember that, whoever wins, government stays in power. Be it in "entitlement" programs or foreign wars/state morals, your money will still be dissipated down a bottomless pit, bureaucrats will still earn their fat benefits and mess with your life, and the present stock bubble will burst and it's going to be ugly.

Barathemos : you couldn't vote even if you wanted to. Heck, I could barely vote.
I wouldn't entirely give it up, I would vote for a third party candidate. Any third party candidate.

This is a thread I just couldn't let slip by without posting my opinion lol. If I had to vote republican for the presidential election because all the democrats dropped out , I would vote for Donald Trump. I would vote for Donald Trump simply because of the incredibly terrible and humorous job trump would do and say when meeting with foreign leaders lol can you imagine trump representing the united states at a international conference, I have and it goes something like this.. (Trump)Yes ummm why is that man reading with his eyes closed (secret service man)Mr. president that's the Japanese prime minister...(Trump)yes waiter...waiter...WAITER....AYE BOY kitchen help entrance is in the back....(secret service man)ummm Mr. president that's the president of Kenya... as you can tell Donald Trump in my opinion would be the most raciest president and probably make very country in the world hate the United States more than what they already do, but there is a silver lining to Trump becoming President World peace might be obtained because he would probably offend every nations leader that is in attendance which would result in every nation ganging up on the United States just to kill Trump.

legacyme3 : Despite Bernie's okay social views, his economics and foreign policy are the same as any neoconservative.

And for the thread, Rand Paul. He's the only one who wants to stay out of the middle east, end the NSA spying, and end the Federal Reserve. His social views are a bit too conservative for me though.

But, I would vote the Libertarian Party nominee, which will most likely be Gary Johnson.

Bernie Sanders is likely going to win and he will turn it all around. For far too long big business has gotten its way in this country and Bernie will make these businesses pay the taxes and force said businesses to be accountable for their destruction of the economy.
