I'm currently reading Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. While I had already intended to read this book sometime in the near future, I ended up picking it up earlier because it was mentioned by the antagonist of the anime Psycho Pass in one of the episodes. It's a pretty silly reason to want to pick up a book, but I'm enjoying it thus far so I guess that's all that really matters in the end.

Recently, I've been reading a book called Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything by Joshua Foer. This book was recommended to me by a friend that wondered if the book would help people like me that are more visually inclined. Right now, I am halfway through the book and so far, I think the techniques and mnemonic devices mentioned in the book could help most anyone, not just those that are visual. lol Anyways, I've been enjoying how the author employs vivid details and imagery to illustrate all of his points, a technique that is actually one of the most important techniques mentioned in the earliest chapters of the book.

Right now, I am reading the book Allegiant, the 3rd book in the Divergent series. After taking a 3-4 month hiatus (due to school and life), I finally got back into reading the Divergent series. I think I remember seeing this series as a recommendation based on other books I've read in the past. Overall, I just started reading this book and even though I still have one book left before I finish the series, I've greatly enjoyed it thus far. I look forward to finding out how the series ends.

I just received as a gift "How To Build A Car" by Adrian Newey, which is an autobiography of all his professional trajectory.

Newey, "the pencil genius" or "the Michelangelo of Motorsport" like the New Yorker has quoted him, is the most successful and renowned Formula One designer of all time. His cars have always been among the top, and his services are even more coveted than the drivers themselves. He's spent the last three decades developing the sport to impressive levels, introducing concepts still in use today and which have affected our everyday life.

The book explains in detail what made 11 of his cars the best machines in the grid. It explains with full detail how they work and what potential he saw in any innovation he introduced. It's almost the bible for any wannabe engineer or designer.

I haven't started it yet, been just a handful of hours I've owned it, but I can't wait to start it. Probably my new favorite book, despite being nearly 400 pages of extremely technical information instead of the traditional books which are meant to explain a plot.

I'm almost finished with Five Nights at Freddy's The Silver Eyes. After I take the AR test on it, I will start reading The Twisted Ones, which is also a FnaF book.

Kilian : AR Test? Is that that points thing that they do in grade school? I remember doing that in elementary and middle school. I'm actually surprised they still have it. I used to dominate every year, because back then, I would read so darn much.

I read a little bit of my 2 textbooks that I got on Friday, to get an idea of what my classes were gonna be like. And did they help? Nope.

Yes. I'm in 5th grade so we still have to do it. We only need 6 points per month. This book is worth 14 points. I won the class total the last 2 years and school total last year. But trying to let someone else win this year and focus on just getting my minimum points. I have a system. I try to finish a big points book before the end of the month, and take the test first day of the month that we are back in class. Then can relax a week or two and then start a new one. By starting off with big points book, it give room to still have the minimum in case I miss a question on test. I love to read too. But I also want to have time to do other activities and play games.

Right now, I am reading the book called Chicken Soup for the Entrepreneur's Soul by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and several other authors. So far, it feels like their advice has been quite helpful for the projects that I've been working on, so I'm enjoying this inspirational book (just as I've enjoyed every Chicken Soup book I've ever read). =)

Tomorrow is my first day of class and for a couple of my classes, the professors have posted books that we need online and told us a bunch of readings that we need to complete by the time we start class.

One of the books I'm reading is a tie in book for the movie Dunkirk, which talks about the events and how the events were researched for the movie. It's funny because about 3 months ago I found this book at Barnes and Noble and bought it because I loved the movie, and 2 weeks after I bought it, I used it for my final paper. This is my 3rd time going through the book since then.

I revisit classics every so often.  I've taken on some monster books, like the 800 pages of "The Terror" by Dan Simmons.  It's about Arctic explorers in the 1800s who have to deal with being stuck in the ice in while looking for the Northwest Passage.  And while they're up there, a monster is hunting them and eating them nice and slow.  It's atmospheric and makes you feel uncomfortable.

I also just finished Stephen King's "The Stand," which is a behemoth of a book.  It was better than I remember.

What am I reading now?  I'm on "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy.  I am learning, 100 pages in, that I am not a fan of Russian fiction authors.  It may be a great story but I'm struggling to get through the pages.  I have a rule that if I'm still checking page numbers after I hit the century mark, I put the book down.  But it's a classic so I'll struggle through.

Right now, I am reading the book called Micro by Michael Crichton (the book was published posthumously with the help of Richard Preston). So far, I'm enjoying the book even though another author had a hand in completing the novel.

I'm currently 3/4 of the way through Sea Glass by Anita Shreve.  It's a book my wife picked up at work and she blasted through it.  I figured I'd try it out since I'm open minded about all sorts of writing and novels and it's a decent read.  There's a woman who owns a house on the Atlantic Ocean (on the beach, not the actual ocean, that is) and the stock market crashes so teamsters, communists, and union leaders use her house to lead a strike to better the lives of men and women and children in the mills of the nearby town.

I'm invested emotionally now and whereas I usually don't read the drivel my wife enjoys, this book as picked me up and carried me through the story.  I'm curious to see what happens and the book is written in small, short chapters with unchallenging text.  I'm used to big, wide sweeping tomes when I read so this is light, airy, easy to put down and pick up again.

I'm sure I'll finish out the last 100 pages in a day or two maximum.

I haven't done much reading lately. Only book I've read this month is 50 Shades of Grey and Coming Clean by Kimberly Rae Miller, an audible book from Amazon Prime. I have a small collection of books, about 25 to 30 so I'd like to start reading at least one every 2 months which isn't much but considering the amount of reading I do at work every day, it seems more feasible.

Yes, I have the other 2 books from the "saga." There are so many different things that the movie didn't exactly did much justice. For instance, Anna's first time having sex is far more sensual than the movie depicts. It's actually a good read.
