Purugly is just one more of those pure Normal-types, weak against Fighting and immune against Ghost are all its secrets. Nothing funny to take from here, even less from the fact of STAB.

It's moveset is barely average, not able to learn anything more powerful or useful than Feint Attack, Slash or Body Slam. It can, however, be the TM slave Normal-types tend to be and be made into a powerful fighter by borrowing attacks from literally any other type.

Stat-wise, things don't go any better. It's very fast, indeed, but it lacks bulk to endure fights and isn't able to strike heavily either. Basically, not brilliant in stats, lacks good moves and its typing doesn't fit it for battles.

Next Pokemon to hate on is Glalie.

Mega-evolution aside, Glalie is just an all around average Pokemon with base 80 stats across the board. Even with max investment in any of its stats, it still won't be able to hit very hard or take hits very well (even though ice typing is awful defensively to begin with). In addition to not having a strong presence, offensive or defensive, Glalie lacks the moveset coverage to be of any real use on a team. Most of the moves it can learn don't gar far beyond ice, so it has little to work with to cover the many weaknesses ice typing has.

With it's overall mediocre stats, lousy movepool, and an ice typing that is weak to everything, Glalie just doesn't really excel at anything. Overall, you are better off saving your team slot for better ice types like Mamoswine or Weavile because they are able to fulfill their role far better than Glalie can.

The next pokemon to hate on is Mightyena.

Mightyena is just an average Pokemon, besides its 90 Attack all its other stats are either 60 or 70. This gives it a base stat total of 420, which is fairly low. All around, without excelling in any area, so nothing special.

Not only its stat total is low, its best stat can't take advantage of an impressive moveset. Its best attacks that benefit from STAB rely on a bit of luck to work out well, only Crunch is both powerful and useful in all instances. The rest of its attacks are either inaccurate or rather weak, never surpassing 90 accuracy or 65 base power.

With the ability Intimidate it can somewhat balance a battle, but it won't always work out. Its other abilities aren't anything special either, Quick Feet will give it an edge in speed while still lacking raw power and Moxie will rarely get any advantage.

And well, I'm not much into hating designs, but Mightyena is just another quadrupedal animal which was given a menacing grim and dark colors so as to not directly fall into a Normal type. It's not the first one of its kind, specially because there are a couple more in the same generation it was introduced, so even this concept is repeated in the franchise.

The next Pokemon to hate on is Ferrothorn.

While Ferrothorn boasts impressive defensive stats, one of its glaring flaws is its X4 weakness to fire type attacks--one of the most abundant types in the metagame.

All it really takes is a flamethrower or blaze kick from any well trained fire type to either demolish it or put a huge dent in it HP. In tandem with its unfortunate typing is its incredibly low speed stat. It's the 32nd slowest pokemon
ever. While it is built to be defensive, its awful speed severely inhibits any offensive presence it has, since it is almost always guaranteed to move last. Overall, a lot of setup and good EV investments are necessary for Ferrothorn to function on a team.

The next pokemon to hate on is Dhelmise.

The first thing to hate about Dhelmise is its design. We've gone with "unusual" Pokemon, but here we're simply talking about seaweed glued to an anchor and a helm. I can pass with living icecreams, ghostly balloons and even sets of gears, but this is just out of the way.

Next comes its typing. Ghost because it's a rather unnatural thing, but Grass? I can see that it's because its seaweed, but the anchor and helm are a part of it as per its Sun description, and they are a lot more prominent than the "true body" of this Pokemon. The typing kind of neutralises its ability, because Steel attacks would be just too massive with this guy, but seeing how it's unique attack is precisely Steel-type it'd make more sense for a Steel-type to sport it instead of a Grass-type.

Speaking of its ability, it can come in quite handy coupled with its massive Attack. However, it's awfully slow, not as highly defensive as a true Steel-type would be and with not as much resistances, a simple comparison with Honedge and its evolutions confirms it. Basically, if you manage to survive an attack, you can counterattack quite effectively, but you won't have any other strategy at your disposal.

The next Pokemon to hate on is Golisopod.

This nearly 7' tall bug is a major disappointment for more reasons than I care to list.

For starters, it's ability Emergency Exit automatically withdraws it from battle if its HP reaches 50% or lower. While this might have a niche in competitive play, it can truly be a nuisance with wild encounters and SOS battling. To make matters worse, its prior evolution, Wimpod evolves at level 30, yet Golisopod learns all of its best moves including: Swords Dance, Slash, and Razor Shell all before level 30. Essentially, you are left with a pokemon with mediocre moves (excluding egg moves of course) until you can access the move tutor at the end of the game...

Golisopod's horrid base 40 speed means that it will often be moving last and will rely heavily on priority moves to reliably do damage. After First Impression is used on the first turn, it can't be used again, further limiting its options.

Overall, Golisopod a mixed bag of a pokemon at best. With its low speed and situational ability, its role is often reduced to simply tanking hits with few reliable ways to deliver them back. If its ability was different and it has access to U-turn instead, it would be somewhat better.

The next pokemon to hate on is Bastiodon.

While Bastiodon's name should suggest it's focused on a nearly impenetrable defense, it is not at all that impenetrable. It has resistances to most types, but two double weaknesses that would guarantee a one-hit KO would it not have Sturdy as its ability and with a third weakness that creates several openings. Didn't we learn the lesson with Aron and its evolutions?

Its defense stats are incredibly high, but the rest are horrid. 60 HP is just derisory for a Pokemon that is fully created to tank hits, and the very low attack and speed stats make it not reliable for taking the offensive. The only real strategy it could pull out is a combo of Metal Burst and Sturdy to survive a battle and then inflict massive damage on the opponent, but that will only allow it to defeat one foe all the while leaving it with very low HP.

That's basically everything it can do. Heavy Slam doesn't play a big role because Bastiodon isn't that heavy, it will rarely get beyond 80 attack power which coupled with its attack is not that impressive, and besides that and Metal Burst it doesn't have anything beyond 80 attack power, with a clear lack of variety of attacks.

All in all, Bastiodon can only be powerful against one single foe and with a very predictable strategy, otherwise it will just endure attacks before its HP wear out in an attempt to inflict some damage with its poor attack and movepool.

The next Pokemon to hate on shall be Dragalge.

Approximately no one would choose Cynadquil over Totodile. It looks so ugly when the fire isn't coming out of it's back, and it has such low HP. Cyndaquil always was and always will be in Totodile's shadow.

The next Pokemon is Stunky.

Gogoat is a boring grass type that for some reason is a goat. What stands out about Gogoat? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It's the most forgettable grass type that's ever been made. Gen 6 had the least new Pokemon introduced (excluding megas), there's no excuse for such a boring Pokemon to have been introduced in such a lackluster Pokemon generation.

Next pokemon to hate on is Zweilous.

The middle evolution is pseudo-legendary evolutionary lines are always the worst, and Zweilous is no different. He's just an annoying stepping stone until he finally evolves into the Hydreigon you want at level 64. The only upside to Zweilous compared to the middle evolutions in other pseudo-legendary lines is that you only have to deal with him for 14 levels.

The next Pokemon to hate on is Lickitung.

Lickitung is probably one of the most disgusting Pokemon ever made. It's bald, fat, has a huge tongue and that's not a fun combination. Its stats are way below average and it didn't even get lick the first generation! Then gen 4 came and it gained an evolution, but its evolution is even uglier than Lickitung! Lickitung also doesn't have wifi connection which is something Lickilicky has going for it I guess.

Tropius looks like an impressive, capable pokemon, but it's actually really underwhelming and has very little going for it aside from a good HP stat and decent special defense. The rest of its stats range from decent to mediocre and its boring typing and moveset leave a lot to be desired. On a side note, I've always been bothered by the placement of the bananas right beneath its chin...surely there must have been a better place to put those?

The next pokemon to hate on is Crabominable. This should be a
very easy task.

I don't know much about Gen 7 Pokemon, so some Google was required here. Crabominable is really ugly though, holy crab! I'm guessing the idea behind him was to mix a crab with the abominable snowman? Which makes absolutely no sense at all. It's also a ice and fighting type which is an... uh... unique combination for a Pokemon that is supposed to be based on a crab. It does look like it could be decent in battle though, despite it's awful speed. Overall, terrible Pokemon, terrible design, why is it a thing?

The next Pokemon to hate on is Gengar.

Gengar has one of the lamest designs of all Ghost type Pokemon. Seriously, it looks so plain. It also lost one of the things that made it so competitively viable, namely its ability Levitate. Its typing leaves a lot to be desired as it has some very common weaknesses and while Ghost is good offensively, it lacks the killpower needed for it to sweep everything in its path without stat boosts. And it can't get those reliably due to its poor defenses.

The next Pokemon to hate on is Dragonite.

Dragonite is easily one of the least threatening looking dragon type pokemon out there. For a pokemon that is over 7 feet tall and weighs nearly 500 pounds, I have no idea how it gets around on its flimsy looking paper mache wings. I also don't like how it deviates from the color scheme of its prior evolutions...this has always bothered me since I feel like it would look a lot cooler with the blue and white color scheme of Dratini and Dragonair. While it is already a viable pokemon, its average speed stat of 80 prevents it from being even better.

Here is a picture of what Dragonite could've looked like if it had maintained the original color scheme. It's a shame it also didn't get the Alolan Form treatment:

So much cooler!

Anyway, the next Pokemon to hate on is Abomasnow.

What's with me getting all of the abominable snowman Pokemon to hate on?

Actually, I think a better question is, why are there any Pokemon based on the abominable snowman at all? He's already a made up character, it seems redundant to make a made up character based on a made up character. Also, why is Abomasnow a grass type in addition to being an ice type? Just because he's green? There is nothing about him that suggests he has anything to do with grass. The guy also has seven weaknesses - S E V E N - including a 4x weakness fire. Useless piece of trash. Thank you, next.

The next Pokemon to hate on is Poliwag.

I mean it just looks awkward and weak. It must be one of the weakest water types in existence, which is not a good thing considering how many there are. Poliwag's attack is also higher than its special attack for some reason which doesn't make any sense. At least it's got a surprising 90 speed to make up for it lol

The next pokemon to hate on is Cloyster

While amazing on the physically defensive side, Cloyster's special defense is atrocious (45). To make matters worse, its speed is below average and its HP is WELL below average. Even a thunderbolt from a Joltik would kill this thing. Overall, it seems like a few points from its unreasonably high defense stat would've been better spent in its other stats.

The next Pokémon to hate on is Purrugly.
