I recently got a new computer and upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. I did all the work in transferring my Firefox profile from the old computer to the new one. Everything was successfully transferred except my game data. Not only that, but the game itself(final fantasy 3 snes) doesn't play properly (keeps pausing and freezing). Can someone help me understand what I did wrong?

I can't remember the file name with win 7 for application data.

Was it Application Data or was it AppData?

The name might conflict with directories when transferring.

kikikis : If you used the save state feature built into the RGR plugin, the save files will be stored on the hard drive that you made them on. You would have to transfer those files to the new computer in the vizzed directory in order to be able to continue.

I also suggest making sure you start with a fresh RGR install on the new computer with the latest version of the plugin.

kikikis : Yes to use the save state feature, you press F2 to Save, F4 to load. If you have been using that, then the saves are on the hard drive of the computer that you saved them on.

Jordanv78 : I actually haven't been using that because I occasionally get the buttons mixed up. I've been saving within the game. I transferred the cookies but it still doesn't show up. I'll check the hard drive, however, to see if it's there.

kikikis : If you are using the in-game saves, then you won't be able to transfer it over. The only way the save files are transferable is if you actually use the save state feature. That actually saves a file on your hard drive that is compatible with the emulator and easily identifiable.

Otherwise you are most likely out of luck. Sorry about that.

I would suggest moving forward that you use the Save state feature. The button legend is at the bottom of the emulator window that F2 is save and F4 is load. The added benefit aside from having a backup in case something happens is that you can save and load at any point in the game.

Also, if you are using in-game saves and your cookies and cache get cleared on accident, you lose your save files more often than not.

Jordanv78 : Depending on the system, the saves should be transferable.
I recently transferred PSX and SNES saves from a laptop to my desktop.

Typically, each system writes a save to a file as it would to a ROM on a cart or to a memory card in the case of CD systems.
Most of these files are located in the C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-#corresponding emulatorsav folder
