tgags123 : I think pretty much any team would pick him first if they were building a team today. You can feel what you will, but if he Wins his 3rd cup and 2nd Conn Smythe before he hits 30 he will go down as one of the best players at his position hands down and that's just if he stopped playing right after that.

You are leaving out huge stats as well because he is an all around player that not only is consistently dominant on the Face Offs, he also plays on the penalty kill units. He's an all around beast and a proven leader that steps up in the biggest moments.

Not only that, half of the guys you just mentioned to compare him to, haven't won hardly Cup, let alone going for their 3rd.

I'm sorry but a guy that has led a dynasty type team to 3 cups in 6 seasons in todays salary cap structure 5 West Finals in 7 years beats out any guy that hasn't won anything yet has a few more goals. Is Toews the best scorer in the league? No, but he's certainly one of the best all around players in the league and one of the best leaders I've seen on an NHL squad.

Even Guys like Yzerman have given Toews huge praise. http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2015/06/03/detroit-red-wings-steve-yzerman-jonathan-toews/28396695

I can't believe I just read someone call Toews overrated....

You don't need to put up 100 points to be a superstar in the NHL.

Also, he is nearly a point a game player in the regular season (565 games and 506 points or 0.90 points per game) and he is a +171 player through his career (was never a minus player in any season). Has scored 20+ goals 8 seasons in a row (every year he has been in the league).

He is also close to being a point a game in the playoffs (112 games and 99 points or 0.88 points per game). And actually, his playoff point production is slightly lower than regular season.

I'm not sure how this guy isn't in the same league with the list I saw below. Is he the "best" player? I don't think so but he is definitely one of the best easily.

To be honest, I really couldn't either but he's probably a Wings or Canucks fan or something ;-)

I'm hoping for a big game from my Hawks tonight. Unforced mistakes and not being able to capitalize on opportunities in game 3 cost them.

In game 2 the back to back Penalties by Sharp and a soft goal or two from Corey is what I felt doomed them. Tampa has been good, but I feel that the longer this series goes, the harder time they will have closing things out. If the Hawks can tie up the series tonight, they in good shape.

Sorry for the double post, but I pretty much had to!

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIIIIINNNN! What a great series! Amazing to watch my favorite team Hoist their 3rd Stanley Cup in 6 seasons and to do it on Home ice is just amazing.

Hats of To Duncan Keith and Kaner. Keith was a much deserved Conn Smythe winner and a class act.

For those that are Toews Doubters? He has won 3 Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe Trophy, 2 Olympic Gold Medals & a World Championship.

He’s just 27 years old. Kane has 3 cups himself and is only 26. Lots of great hockey ahead for the core of the Blackhawks

Congrats to the Blackhawks for winning it all even though I'm very salty about it, and I wish you didn't make it anywhere near the end. Although the discussion here seems to have stopped, so if there's any more to say on it, it's better off posting it in the offseason thread now.
