-Overall- (7/10)
The Overall rating for this game is good, but the game of course has its limits. The only aspect one could ever complain about would be the huge lack in story, but that isn't important in a game like this. Great game and I love most of it. I highly recommend anyone who wants a simplistic platforming shooter to try this out.
-Graphics- (6/10)
The graphics aren't really anything special. It does however have the very nostalgic look, which is a really nice feature. Nothing that will impress, but if you played this game a LOT during your childhood, the graphics will be a very welcome sight.
-Sound- (7/10)
Nothing special about the sound either, some are really neat and others just there for the effect. The music though, the music is great and really catchy. Hearing the music brings back a lot of memories for me and probably a lot of you out there as well. My favorite being the music tracks of the first few levels of the game.
-Addictiveness- (8/10)
This game is of course really fun and tends to entertain for quite a while, but it does get boring after enough time has been spent playing it. You could theoretically speedrun this but I have no clue on where to go from there. I love the simplistic feel this game has to it.
-Story- (4/10)
The story is something you shouldn't really pay attention to. Let's be honest here... You would never play this for the story. Right? The story is basically you are going on a date and you have to take your dad's car and you end up crashing on an unknown planet. Nothing special, told you.
-Depth- (4/10)
The game has a very low amount of depth. Limited weapons, items, and a single path to take while playing the game. This game is known for its incredibly simplistic play style while focusing on the traditional go right and shoot things feel. The weapons are pretty unique and all have their uses though. The bosses are also something fun to mention, simple yet unique and entertaining to fight.
-Difficulty- (6/10)
Like most retro games, it has a low starting difficulty but spikes upwards really quickly and begins to challenge the player.

I like how you made each section so distinctive.  The formatting is pretty nice.

Might I make one suggestion?  I like that you gave each category and explanation, but what are your numerical ratings?  (1 being the worst and 10 being the best).  Even though a review is highly subjective, giving a numerical value might give people a better idea on how you feel about a game than simply saying it's "good" or "nothing special".  It's a little more descriptive.

Otherwise, you didn't do to badly.. especially if this is your first review. You passed the 100 word requirement, your grammar is near perfect, and your sentences flowed smoothly.

SOME of your opinions aren't justified very well though.  Saying that we wouldn't play the game for the story... is very confusing to a person who knows nothing about the game. Why do you feel as though the story isn't worth mentioning or paying attention to?  How could it be improved?  Etc.  Adding these little details can improve the quality of your reviews.

Thanks for your input and contributions, and good luck! If you need more help, just let us know.  We'll do our best.  (And please, don't take offense at the advice.  It's only to help you improve. As I insinuated earlier, this review is better than many other first pieces of work.    )

Singelli : Thanks for the advice! I can't believe I forgot to add my rating numbers though...
EDIT: Fixed the issues.
