I just realized I've played in the top 5 six times and in the top 10 every single time. I've also placed in the top 3 once but I have never won the Tour de Vizzed. Hopefully I can change that eventually

pacman1755 : Most users would never know these things that took place during the past Tour de Vizzed without these graphs so it's great that these graphs help capture and preserve what took place. The crazy rivalries, the amazing comebacks, the unfortunate forfeits, they're captured with these graphs.

Singelli : Thanks to the new rules and updates to the TdV, I think most TdV competitions will be pretty close from now on. If you take a look at the current graph so far for this month's TdV, you can definitely tell that it's one of the most exciting.

Laian : The Jerseys are a nice little reward from your Walkthroughs though, you've earned a total of 17 Jerseys because of them.

megamanmaniac : The graphs are definitely a permanent thing.

legacyme3 : Well you've accomplished pretty much everything there is to accomplish on vizzed board.

Davideo7 : I am surprised that I didn't get a summon. And these are kind of hard to read, but I think I got hang of it. I didn't realize how close I was in July 2013 to not winning. If Fireproof had not of backed off, I probably would not have won.

I think I bar chart would be easier on my eyes... although, I am not sure how you go about incorporating that for this idea.

Also, if you are ok with it, I can make a list of "Top 5 Finishes" for you, if you want, and update it every Tour de Vizzed, like we used to have with the VCS. Is that alright by you, David?

Davideo7 : Although I can't be very active at all until the end of this week, I've stopped by at least once every day this week to look at the chart. I noticed the same thing about the graph and have been very pleased with it.  I was actually thinking that the future competitions will be much more interesting, myself.  I'm loving the updates to TdV more and more.  It's not so easy to wipe the competition away any more.

thing1 : You were banned when I made this thread. A bar graph wouldn't work with this kind of data with this many users.

You don't have to do a top 5 finishes thing, I plan to incorporate a top 3 finishes on the Tour de Vizzed Hall of Fame page eventually and that'd be automated.

Singelli : Exactly. Now that only half of the Jerseys deal with posts, users have to put in double the effort just to dominate the competition and now we're seeing users in the TdV that we normally wouldn't see in the past. The current Jerseys are different enough from each other which is great because it makes it harder for someone to try and grab more than 1 jersey in a single day. In previous competitions, it wasns't uncommon for someone to grab 2, 3 or even 4 Jerseys in 1 day, now it's going to be a lot harder to pull that off.

Singelli : True... but not users who are staff have an unfair advantage over everybody else because they can do staff actions, and I don't necessarily agree with that.

17, yeah. It could have been 18 but someone managed to take one back from me. And if I remember correctly, that person actually posted in this thread. Yes, that's a long list of people but I'm sure he or she can say: "I beat Laian at his own game". Honestly, I'm not mad at this person, I've been waiting for ages to see that coming. My streak ended by a worthy opponent. That said person has been a bit smarter than me.

Now, that's true, you got a good point there, David. It's a nice reward, I must confess. Although, that's just my opinion but, compared to the feedbacks and likes I get from people here after publishing my walkthroughs (and it's ridiculously amazing to see that, a few minutes after publishing my walkthrough, my notifications inbox is spammed of "you have new replies on your walkthrough *insert title here* " ), I'm not really concerned about this anymore. But, it's nice, yeah.

I just noticed that every Tour de Vizzed, there is a different winner in the rainbow jersey.

I think it's a pointless stat.

Also, the reason no one has ever won two TDV's is because of the layoff between events. It's three months of waiting for the next one, and most posters suffer burnout. Very rarely does the winner of the previous TDV do well in the next TDV. In fact, this extends to the top 3. Here's proof of that.

Of the 10 TDV's before this present one, and counting the present results so far for the month (because rarely does the top 3 change this far in the month), there have been 30 instances I'm looking to track. Of said 30 instances? Only 12 are in the top 10 in the next TDV. If you narrow it to people who are in the top 5 of the next TDV, then that number shrinks to 5 instances out of 30. If you narrow that further still, to just people who finished in the top 3 of the next TDV, and you come up with a tiny 4 (with one of those not being in stone yet, as David has yet to seal up top 3).

So who are the people responsible for the 3 past instances, where a top 3 finisher would finish in the top 3 in the next TDV?

The 3 instances are legacyme3 (twice), and Singelli.

To this day, I'm the only person to be in the top 3 in three straight TDV's. (Not to mention, the only person to be in three top 3's period.)

The point I'm trying to make is, burnout happens. Very very few people can do well in a second TDV, let alone a second consecutive TDV. I'm sure someone will eventually win the Rainbow Banner a second time in a row. But I don't think it happens for a while, unless tRIUNE utterly dominates CP every TDV, and posts a lot.

Wow, I had gotten like 5 jerseys last year but mainly 2012/2013 and I never got a summon. Especially since I still remember the day I had a 56 post spree using just the vizzed tab and my iPod to do it. No-multi tab trick or spamming. Won blue jersey for that. Also got a yellow jersey when trying to compete against rcarter2 one time during a TdV also, and it was ridiculously close. Not going to rub how much I won by, though.

Eh, but my history with TdV still goes, even to when I placed top 10 in one of the TdV seasons, and I was very happy that I managed to. Burned out activity from June 2013 for posting until around the end of June. :

That's right. Actually, there's no other miracle. My secret weapon (which is no longer secret since people got used to it) is my only playing card. A joker, an ace... I can't tell. That's my only chance and, once played, it's all or nothing. By "all", I obviously mean the reward at the end of the day (and I think I might get one jersey unless I'm wrong and misread the new rules of the Tour de Vizzed).

legacyme3 : I didn't suffer burnout from my TDV win.....I don't know if I ever actually said this, but my only goal was to win one and then be done. Good enough for me.

legacyme3 : It is interesting that more often than not the top 3 guys don't make it the next year. I guess it was a kind of a burn out. Or someone vizwiz'd.

legacyme3 : Those are some nice stats that you searched for. I should be able to end this TdV with at least 3rd place.

Laian : You'll probably only get 1 Jersey which would be the Yellow Jersey (based on word count) but it's possible you could get the Red Jersey as well (based on CP). In the next Tour de Vizzed, Walkthroughs will be worth way more CP than they are now so you'll most likely be grabbing 2 Jerseys with your walkthroughs next time.

Davideo7 : Unless I throw out my secret weapons next TDV when Laian does... I'm not rushing with it (them?), because I want to go for that extra CP/Viz. XD

mrfe : It really depends on how your "secret weapon" will be formatted. If I implement this idea, then you should definitely submit all of it in 1 day.

Davideo7 : I hope to really write a lot by then, so I don't know that I'd need to unleash the entirety of my arsenal on just one day. I might do one of the bigger ones, and a review or something if need be to get double. I kinda doubt that anyone will be interested in getting over 20k words though... hmm...

What is the record for most words in a day? I kinda wanna break that... Not words in a post, but words in combined posts for one day.
