I don't know why, but I am super pumped for the next TdV! I was positive that I would sit it out, but now I am excited for it and ready to win compete! I know I'm a little early, but who else is really for the Tour de Vizzed?

I...will probably get DQ'd, considering how many of my posts are in hangman these days.  lol

I'm pretty pumped for the next Tour de Vizzed because I have an awesome plan and it will be quite different from any other Tour de Vizzed! My plan is to attempt to make at least 25 posts each day that I'm not busy until I run out of threads to make or post in. Then I will wait a few days and try again. I did that for the last few days of the July Tour de Vizzed of 2013 and it went well. You probably thought I was going to post here. I'm always excited for a Tour de Vizzed.

I'm extremely excited for my first TdV. I don't really have a plan on how many posts I will make a day, I just plan on posting until I run out of threads to post on. Btw, when does the TdV start?

tgags123 : I'm really excited about the new CP jersey, of course, it's not really a competition if we know who's going to win that jersey almost every day. I feel that there's more to the tdv now that you can get points for more tasks that vary from vidoes and pics to much more. I'm going to try going for Blue this time, and if I can win again, so be it, but aside from blue and the cp, not that interested this time around.

It depends. I will sit the first day out if I see a ton of spam then I will just not compete and most likely go inactive until the month is over. It is either I will do that or I will actually compete and maybe win a jersey. Considering hangman getting more and more popular it will be spam I think. 
 
Since David is now focusing on TDV now it might actually not be spam. I will just have to wait and find out.

As for me...its just another competition. I gonna possibly "try" to win.

supercool22 : Well I do have work, if you want to call it that. It is work, but I don't get paid But that is only 3 days a week, so I should be good the other 4 days.

Slythion : July 1st. It is every 3rd month and it goes from the first day of the month until the last day of the month. And be prepared, the July TdV is always the most intense. By far.

zanderlex : I am coming back to re-claim my title as blue jersey champ this time. And I'm probably not going to try for CP since tRIUNE is going to win without even trying....

I'm honestly probably going to largely disappear for the TDV. I always detest the levels of spam that happen as a result of the competition. I'll be around to update Vizzed Survivor: Kanashi Shima, and to chat with close friends, but largely, my activity feels lower in TDV months.

I'm definitely "not" looking forward to seeing so much spam :/

You know, you can't stop spam. If you want to have a fun posting competition, there is going to be spam. In my opinion, the best thing to do is to just ignore it or report it, and continue on having fun and competing. The best way to combat spam is to make some non-spammy posts of your own.

I'm looking forward to it, and have been for a few weeks now. I know it's rare to hear a Mod say that, but the way I see it, spam isn't the horrible plague that we make it out to be. So some people post some pointless and dumb stuff, so what? Does it hurt me? Nah. Do I lose sleep over it? Nope. It makes me busier, but that's cool. Nobody becomes a Mod thinking "I sure hope I get to be lazy and not have to do much", right? lol The board has been too slow the past two months, and I miss the activity. I know the board is too slow when I can make a post, check the "New Posts" link an hour later, and still see my post in the top fifty. I don't like that, and I anticipate the activity that we're about to see erupt here in a few days. The board definitely needs it too. Too bad we cancelled the VCS. :

So basically I'm saying, the TdV makes being a Mod feel more like a job that helps the site, and less like a title like it's seemed for a while now, plus it promotes a healthy forum, so I'm looking forward to it for those reasons. I may try to win a jersey one or two days, but mostly I'm just looking forward to seeing the board active again.

Eirinn : I am really the same way, I'm also looking forward on how the new TdV rules will play out. Since TdV will hopefully be a lot less Spammy, I think this TdV coming up might be the best one yet.

legacyme3 : That is not fun. There are a lot of people, myself included, that wouldn't even have become active here and gotten to know the community if the TdV didn't exist. I planned to make 10 posts to become a member and then never post again, but the TdV grabbed hold of me. I am sure I am not the only one. And the reason is because it is fun. Sure there are negatives, but most people would agree with me when I say that the positives outweigh the negatives in this case.

zanderlex : I wouldn't call it a dramatic comeback. I pretty much stop posting altogether, so it wasn't that hard for you to catch up. And no wagers. I have my own way of winning participating and I don't want a wager to get in the way of it.

legacyme3 : Well, given that Vizzed is David's livelihood, and the forum activity is where a large portion of his money comes from, I don't really think not having a post-encouraging competition could be viewed as a logical option. I mean, Vizzed is just a place to hang out for us, but for David it's a way to feed his family, you know what I mean?

I mean, it is what it is, but keep in mind that even on a "non-competition" month, Vizzed gets tons of activity, and the activity has only grown generally.

Most of the activity actually comes from the RGR, I would say, and with the way ads are implemented, I'm sure David would make just as much if he replaced the posting competitions with more RGR competitions.

When it comes down to it, each post doesn't really add much money to David's wallet. I'd wager the majority of his income comes from ad revenue that can be had elsewhere on the site, and page views in the RGR.

It's his livelihood, I get that, but the way I see it, it doesn't really add a ton to David's wallet

I am quite pumped. I hope to actually compete this time, last month I just tried in the last few days of it, so actually competing in it, for real, would be neat, even if I don't win or anything.
