From what I've used, the Wii U Pro controller is the way to go for me. I actually like it more than the GameCube controller personally. The left shoulder button was my jump button for Brawl, so it easily translated to the Pro controller. And the second analog stick works really well for Smash attacks and air moves as well. It's definitely my favorite way to play any Smash game, really.

I have used the WiiU controller that comes with the console when I played my little brother. I was in the guest room doing something, and he wanted to try something, so he asked if I would play with him. I said sure. He told me to stay put, and he brought me the WiiU controller, and said he was going to use the regular Wii controller with the Nunchuck to play, while I stayed in the guest room. 

So... is that the WiiU Pro controller, or just the regular controller?
