In regards to choosing one or the other, I would encourage you to get a PlayStation 4 when you're able to find it. The XBox One had a pretty bad issue upon release and I'm not sure if Microsoft fixed it yet on the ones they are sending out now. Sony, however, has already acknowledged that they had issues with their PlayStation 4 consoles on release and already addressed that they are fixing it in their newer models. To ensure you get a functioning system, I would encourage you to go with a PS4 for now. XBox One will, hopefully, be repaired by the time they get more titles out on it.

I would get the PS4 simply because it's cheaper and they're not as greedy as Microsoft. Even though they are making us pay for online now it's only because they weren't able to keep up with the sales Xbox made because of it. Although I feel they wouldn't even have to because the Xbox One has major flaws as you saw when they revealed it. Also the Playstation graphics have always been better than the Xbox (mainly due to the fact it can support blu-ray) so therefore the Playstation 4 would have to be my logical pick.

I still have  this gut feeling that the XBOX one will be some weird prototype of the HAL from Space Odyssey that watches your every move. Even though they withdrew all that. Well they said they did but hey, its Microsoft. Plus I want a gaming console, not some multimedia bull manure family center.
