A Minecraft 3DS edition sounds like a pretty good idea. You would be able to use the touch screen kinda like how you use your mouse. Just like Arctic Wolf posted however, there would be some data storage limitations and the world would have to have some kind of limitation to it. I probably wouldn't buy it myself, but I'm sure a lot of people still would.

Arctic Wolf (SS82): I didn't think the iOS version was too bad. I thought it was fun to play locally with friends but I got bored of it after two months or so.

Edit: Summoning Fail

There should be one, but I don't think the 3DS has enough buttons to support Minecraft. You dig, you move, you jump, you have to use the inventory, you have to be able to switch from first person, and a few more. If it's possible, I don't think Multiplayer would be possible other then by Local, anyways.

Having a Good handheld Minecraft game would be amazing, although I don't believe it would be possible. Minecraft is just way to big to be a 3DS game. There are just too many problems, and if we did get it, it would a sloppy watered down version of the game.

Who knows. There is already a Minecraft pocket edition, for Android tablets and phones. I suppose if a phone can power a Minecraft game, the 3ds could.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. I could see it, but it would also feel weird. I know the Minecraft Pocket edition does, though it runs smoothly.

Maybe. It might be good for multiplayer and other features. But I don't know if the 3DS can support a lot of memory in the game.

That would be a very daunting task for the developers. Minecraft forces any hardware its on to render so many polygons. That it would struggle on the 3DS, it might do fine though considering that its on IOS, and the Raspberry Pi, but it would be difficult.

Yes I think there should be. My boyfriend has been trying to get me to play it. I like the game, but I can't do anything with it because of the controls. I am used to a regular controller, or game portable. The only time I ever really go beyond using those is when I'm playing face book games, or Pokémon here on vizzed.

When I think about this, it would be a good idea. I'm sure the 3DS can hold memory to play Minecraft, since even the crappiest of computers can play it as well. Besides, after playing Kid Icarus: Uprising, it would seem that a control scheme for Minecraft similar to Uprising's would be absolutely amazing. To add to that, the 3DS' online capabilities would make for an awesome multiplayer experience.

It could work out... Anyways, if this actually ever comes out, this is what should be included:

-Access inventory on touch screen
-L and R buttons to cycle through items
-Add new blocks like bricks from Mario
-Add Mario as a mob
-Connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi to download user-created skins

This could be a great game if Nintendo played their cards right.

I think the 3DS could handle it if mobile (IOS, and Android) did. Though most of the features would be missing (even 360 doesn't have everything!).

I think Minecraft for the 3DS would be a pretty good idea. The game is very fun and addicting and I know the other portable version of minecraft is doing pretty well. The only concern I would have is that its taking the 4J company forever to update the XBOX 360 version and it would probably take even longer to update the 3DS.

It sounds like an okay idea on paper. It's on every other dang system, why not make it available on a handheld system? I mean, it's probably not going to change too drastically if they do so.

To any who says that mine craft shouldn't be for 3DS because of memory issues.............you do know technology has advanced since 2000 (year when minecraft was made). So most likely they capable of having a small memory chip with lots of memory. (But it would be worth lots of money)..its only a bad idea if it only bought in Nintendo eShop. Since an a 3DS..only has a limited amount of "blocks". But hey...I could be wrong.
