I'm hosting a "Halo 3 Game Night" tomorrow (Thursday, October 17th) where members of vizzed can get together and play the game for the Xbox 360. We'll start playing at 5 PM (central time) and go until 8 PM or until I decide that I'm done for the night (but you guys can continue to play together after I leave).

Reasons for hosting this event
There's 2 reasons actually:

1. To let everyone know that Halo 3 is free so that users take advantage of this offer so that I can find some more Halo 3 buddies.

2. To show off the latest feature I've added to vizzed where you can go to a game page and see who else on vizzed owns that game. If you're looking for an online buddy for a specific game, you'll be able to find one! Whether it be a game that is dead and is hard to find someone online to play with, or it's a game that just came out, this feature will help gamers connect with each other. The Playlists we'll be playing
It depends on how many people play. We can play anything that is suggested but if we have a lot of people playing, we'll be doing Big Team Slayer (that supports up to 16 players).


How you can join
There's 4 things you'll need to do in order to join me and the rest of the Vizzed Halo players:

1. Once you've downloaded Halo 3 (or if you already own it), add it to your Vizzed Game Collection by going here: https://www.vizzed.com/games/halo-3-x360-xbox-360-37669-game-owners#game-owners .

2. Go to edit your profile and add your Xbox Live gamertag to your profile. To do this, go to the 'Edit Profile & Settings' link at the top left of the page and that page you should be able to find the field to fill that in. You can also fill in your other online games such as your PSN Name, Wii-U, 3DS, etc.

3. Add me to Xbox Live. Before you add me, place your vizzed username in your xbox live bio somewhere and say that you're from vizzed.com (so for example: 'Davideo7 from Vizzed.com'); this helps me keep track of who is who. Sounds freaking awesome, as I haven't played a Halo game in ages (I have actually never played a Halo game for the 360). Just Halo and Halo 2. Unfortunately for me, weekdays are horrible to try to play games in the evening. Don't get home from the high school (since I am the theatre director) until about 5:30-6. Then that is typically time for my wife and I to spend time together. This weekend is hard since I have to take 2 of my theatre students to a meeting that will discuss a Thespian conference we will go to next semester. That is my Saturday. On Sunday, my wife and I are driving up to Kansas City because the traveling Broadway show Wicked is running there, and we got tickets to awesome seats. Pretty booked for a while But we definitely have to find some time in the future. I will say that 1st person shooters are my Achilles Heel, though. 

rcarter2 : Yeah me and you will definitely have to find time to play the game, now you have no excuse not to play Halo with me lol. I might record the entire session tomorrow night and post it to YouTube.

I would totally join this if I could get gold by then.  I'm about a week away from trading someone on /r/Steamgameswap for an Xbox Live Gold membership.  I'm terrible at FPS's but played Halo 3 at a friend's house and loved it.  Maybe if I have some time to play through the campaign, I'll get better.

All I own is Combat Evolved, maybe a tunneled LAN game of some original Xbox games might be in the future? I here it's not too hard, I already have Combat Evolved and an (unmodded) Xbox, so just have to setup the tunneled LAN game. Just looked it up, a LAN tunneling software (created with Xbox in mind) is XBConnect (http://www.xbconnect.com). All it requires is a PC, Internet connection, and console. Haven't looked at it too much but will look further into it. (If there's anyone out there who has an Xbox and is willing to help me try it out, I'd appreciate it, I don't know anyone with an Xbox to try it with.)

rcarter2 : Just letting you know that I extended the time tomorrow night, not sure if you'd be able to make it with the extended time or not but I just thought I'd let you know.

bigger0gamer : I'm not familiar with tunneled LAN but if I ever figure it out, that would be cool to play Halo 1 or 2 online.

Davideo7 : Unfortunately, it isn't the time. It's the date. When it comes to online play, weekends are the only option for me. I want to try to set something up sometime before the month is over though. 

rcarter2 : I plan to get into the habit of playing Halo 3 once a week and probably for the next few weeks. I work out on my exercise bike once a week and I sometimes find a good adrenaline pumping game to play while I do it and I find that the Halo games are great for that.

Davideo7 : I am actually looking at my schedule. It looks like the next time I am pretty certain I will be in town and have some free time is the weekend of November 2-3. We should try to shoot for then. That would also give me time to get acquainted with Halo 3, since I have never played it.

If I can get the map packs from my friend (I sold it to him) we can even play swat if we don't have lots of people look at my level on it you'll know why  

demonslay999 : I actually do have all of the Map Packs. I also have ODST so if anyone else has that and was interested, we could do some Firefight.

I will consider this since I absolutely love Halo. I have completed the campaigns of Halo 3 and 4 and have played hours of online. I may struggle a bit because I have been playing a lot of Halo 4 and the controls are very different. Then only reason I can not enter would be because I am six hours ahead of the vizzed time so a game night would be hard for me! Well I will think about it... (and I think my Xbox was taken away from me I do not know)

Well, that's awesome. There are people who would join this site just for the chance to play Halo 3 with more people. What a great new feature to add. This place just keeps getting better! 

I'll be a few minutes late, but I can definitely make it. I don't have any map packs(I think) but I'll be able to play for a while.
Hopefully the site I used for time zone conversion didn't lie to me again...

I'll try to join, but I probably can't before 5PM. I should be on at ~5:30PM though [EST]. So I'll be about 30 minutes late, I think CST is one hour late on EST (so 5PM EST = 4PM CST, I think). It's been a while I played Halo 3 though, gotten used to the newest ones.

PS: God I hate needlers...

TMVBigLib77 : I actually want to try and do stuff like this often. There's a lot of games I have that I'd love to play online but I can't because no one plays them online or I choose not to because none of my friends play them online anymore.
