I'm 31 going on 32 and I don't care for birthday parties.  I don't need presents and recognition that I'm older.  I stopped caring around 18.  

What about you guys?  Who loves to have a party?  Who loves all the presents?  Who doesn't care?

I'm with you, I'm 27 and if I had a birthday party it would be kinda creepy.  I'm sure someone will throw something when I'm 30, even though I won't want it.

My son just had his 2 year party yesterday, and it was fun having everyone over.  He had a blast, now he's passed out on the bed sleeping, longer than he normally does.  He wore himself out.

Oh, and he got ninja turtles, star wars, and batman stuff.  Daddy approves.

I stopped caring after 18 as well.  In fact, I don't even care to know WHEN my birthday is coming around. I'm just like 'meh, it's my birthday'.  It's funny how things change once we're adults, huh? Even if nobody tells me Happy Birthday, I could really care less. My feelings wouldn't be hurt in the slightest.

While everyone else stopped caring after age 18 (I'm younger than that), I stopped caring for a few years now. I still like to celebrate my birthday, but I don't need a party at all to do so. In fact, I dislike parties, so having a birthday party for me is pointless.

I never really cared about my birthday party, my mom was the one (in my younger ages) that was always bothered by the tough of me having a party and was always over me to do one, but in the end I was happy hanging out with some friends at my house or somewhere else. 

I've never really cared for birthday parties. I'm a rather reserved person; I don't like having a lot of attention on me.

I stopped caring about parties when I was like 15. I will be turning 21 kinda soon. I am excited about that but I still wont be having a party. The only parties I throw and get pumped over is my daughters birthday parties.

I like birthday parties. I think they are a lot of fun. I don't really like being the center of attention, but I do like parties with my family and friends.

Once you get to a certain age, you stop caring about having your traditional type birthday. Oh and I REALLY hate it if my friends try to take me to one of those restaurants that makes you get up and sing or dance or something on your birthday lol

than for taking the day off, more so to rest than anything I really don’t think
too much of my birthday. I am turning 30 soon, I’m not really thinking so much
about the birthday as I am thinking about where I am in my life as I turn 30.
As I have gotten older, the thing that seems to run through my mind more and
more is thinking of things that I haven’t done that should have and/or thinking
of my mistakes. Although I am not one for parties, the idea of a party I think
should be used for certain occasions. For some people a birthday probably fits
the criteria of a reason to throw a party, but for me I’m not the type to throw
parties. I do though believe that it is best to be polite to those who do want
to help you celebrate a birthday. I will agree that as you get older other
things do seem more important.

I don't really have birthday parties anymore because me getting older, although I still get a couple things here and there from friends nowadays, but that is pretty much it, I stop having birthday parties at 13, and since then, I haven't been having one for myself, to my, my birthday is like every other day, it's just like a "Minor Christmas for just that one person".

Well, I don't.

Though I have to admit I just came back from a surprise birthday party and the fact that some people even here on Vizzed actually took the time to say happy birthday I have to say I am happy to see people care.

Though why I hate birthdays in general on my part it is hard to say. I hate the attention, I hate to be reminded that I am almost middle aged and I think balloons and cake are for kiddies and it is kids who should have birthday parties. Not me..

But I guess it was a nice that even a miserable wretch like me could be lured into having a happy birthday.

I'm not a birthday party guy, and I haven't been since I was around 10.

I spend my birthdays with my family and relatives, to be honest. You know, laser tagging, eating out, go karting, stuff that's fun, and can create memories.

I WILL admit, however, that I love to go out with friends for my birthday a week after and watch a movie, hang out, stuff like that, just for my birthday. No, it's not really a party. Just a little hangouty-thingy.

Pretty much, no. The closest I get to it is a little fun time with friends.

I haven't cared for big parties since I was 9 or so. At that point, I had so few friends, that just spending the day with the couple of friends who didn't shun me and having fun was all the celebration I needed. The presents never hurt, though XD.
But honestly, all I need at this point is a day with the ones I care about and maybe a bit of cake, because my belief is that you can NEVER go wrong with cake :3.

I've only had two parties in my entire life, which I admit is quite short at only fourteen years, but I don't care that much. I mean, if people tell me happy birthday, that's enough to make me happy. And on my birthday, I care more about what my parents give me than anyone else, so it's not like I hold parties for presents. The main reason I held those parties was to have an excuse to see my friends from both my old school and my new one. Even then, the parties were shared with my cousins who have birthdays around the same time of year, because, to be honest, it costs lots of money to rent out a party room or whatever at some fun place. Why not have fun with the family and celebrate everyone all at once?

To be honest I don't really care. I like to keep it simple, a nice cake, a few games and maybe going out for dinner is all I would ask for. I am not the spoiled type who demands 500 presents or anything.



I enjoy birthday parties, but I just don't think it is necessary to go all out on them though. I am not a little kid anymore so I don't see the need for huge parties.



So yeah, a few nice things and maybe dinner at a nice restaurant is all I would really want and nothing else. Pretty simple. Good thread question by the way.

I think that birthday parties are more important when you are a young little kid because they mean a lot to you. Like decorating for christmas or going trick or treating for halloween and believing santa is real. Those are the little things that matter to you as a little kid, but as you get older, they don't have a high importance. That is just the way I see it. I mean no little kid wants to have a life where they don't even celebrate their own birthday, that is just horrible in my opinion!

I'm never the spoiled brat type of guy, if you know what i mean. I've usually had very simple birthdays, With just me and the family.  I'd like to keep it that way.


Huge parties will never be my thing, I'm not some wackjob who wants millons of gifts.

I'm 16 and I do but don't care about birthday parties. The reason why I do care about them now is because my 18th is coming up in 2 years and everyone usually goes mental at that age - drinking etc. Well, not for those of you who live in the U.S! Gotta wait until your 21. So that's the only reason that I care for parties.

The reason why I don't really care for birthday parties is because I'm far too lazy for them. I'd rather go see a movie or go out and have a good time with my mates. A party would just bore me if I'm quite honest!

Not very. I have not had one for the last 3 years because i just don't care for them anymore. I don't ever do anything on my birthday except sit around. I don't exactly want a party.
