Summary:

So this game has many great perks mostly because of the way

the game play, the large depth, and how addictive it can become all while being

able to deliver hours of fun with great challenges and road blocks. If you are

a fan of the Megaman Battle Network television show, the games, or just a big

fan of being challenged then this is a game you should try out. Though I am not

the biggest fan of the game series or the actual game play I have to say that

for a game boy advanced game this title really hit the top of my charts in

almost all the different areas I will be reviewing. Before I start I do suggest

if you attempt to play this game to use a strategy guide. You will become

confused with many of the puzzles, you will be challenged at more than one

point within this title, and when you finally beat it you will definitely feel

that you have accomplished a hard task. So let’s begin!

?

Graphics and Sound- Rate 8

Alright so I gave the graphics and sound an 8 for a couple

of key reasons:

1) The soundtrack really does match the game play and makes

it a much more enjoyable experience throughout this game. Sometimes as a gamer

you are faced with boring background music but the sound tracks for this game

keeps you going and may even in some cases “pump you up”.

2) The graphics being only a game boy advanced game is

absolutely marvelous and top of the line for the console as well as the type of

game which it is. If anything you will notice that the graphics for this title

are all very unique and interesting regardless if you play for only an hour or

beat the game.

3) Both the maps, allies, enemies, and even the puzzles all

have great graphics and are also very unique due to the fact that you have to

be on a “digital” as well as a “real world” map throughout the game. They

really were able to be spot on with the graphics.

4) Now I usually do not enjoy the sprites during the battles

in previous games but they really stepped it up for this title. Not only are

you able to use different “forms” of your allies for Megaman but the way they

set up the battles and graphics for each move you use is both unique and

outstanding! Even if it is the same elemental attack the graphics vary so I

definitely suggest those who play this experiment and check out all the great

battle graphics.

?

Addictiveness- Rate 5

Only a 5 you ask? I am afraid so the addictiveness deserves

to be neutral for this title. This is the type of game where there is so much

to do, will take quite a long time to beat with or without a strategy guide,

and due to the fact that it is such a long game replay almost doesn’t seem like

an option. Truth be told you may get bored and have to come back to it a couple

of times. It is in my opinion harder and more frustrating than any Zelda title

you can think of without a strategy guide. Also with the constant battling as

if you are playing a Pok?mon title but throughout the whole game you have to constantly

walk in the grass area no matter where you are whether you are on a route or in

a building. (Yes it can be that bad throughout the game). Now once you start

playing and you are facing bosses the game can become very addicting due to the

fact that those points in the game are what I would consider the more “Fun” and

“Enjoyable” and once you beat the bosses you can actually go back and do it as

many times as you want. So as you can hopefully all tell this title is very

neutral with its addictiveness.

?

Story and Depth- Rate 10

So the story is pretty much how you are recruited by another

individual to eliminate viruses in the world. You end up traveling to different

places and meeting different characters and making new allies. So not really

the most interesting story for a game but the depth of the game REALLY makes up

for the overused story.

Do you like exploring numerous areas? Do you enjoy countless

puzzles? Do you like having the ability to use many different playing styles?

Well you my friend will absolutely love this game. Throughout the game you are

able to explore a large selection of different areas and maps while also being

able to constantly change your playing style without spending hours training

your team up, reconfiguring, etc. So because of this wide range of playable

areas and the fact that for this title you really have to spend hours playing

through it and getting every item; if you want to complete this game 100% the

depth deserves a 10.

?

Difficulty- Rate 10

I do not know what is worse while playing this game between

wanting to finish the game and the lack of patience a gamer could have for this

title or the actual difficultly you face in this game and dealing with a lot of

repetitiveness. Now I did say in this guide that even with a strategy guide

this game will take a gamer quite a few hours to complete and many hours to max

everything out and finish the game 100%. I was not kidding by any means. This

game’s puzzles can be as difficult as Zelda game titles, the amount of

repetitiveness with battling enemies can become almost unbearable, and also the

best and more enjoyable parts within the game only last for about an hour

before you need to spend another 2-3 hours depending on puzzle solving skills before

you can battle the next boss. So the actual game difficulty is hard as well as

what the gamer may feel when playing through this title.

?

So I hope you all enjoyed my review and thank you all for

any and all feedback given back to me.

(I am looking for a really awesome wallpaper for a Let’s

Play series I will be working on soon and willing to pay a couple thousand vizz

if it is really well done)

I think you did a good review.  I agree that the frequent random encounters can get irritating.  Doing something like Chrono Trigger shouldn't have been too much to ask, in my opinion.  However, I disagree with the addictiveness section of your review.  While the random encounters may turn some people off, there is a massive amount of content, that should keep most gamers playing this game coming back for more.  There is an aftergame, as well, that adds a lot of content to the game.  It is demanding of the gamer, and can wear down the gamer's patience, but those that stick it out to the end are deeply rewarded.  I seriously hope that vizzed comes out with GBA Netplay soon, so that people can play Battle Network games online together.

supernerd117 : I really like the idea of Battle Network net play, that sounds awesome.  And yes, this game does wear a person down. I have played B.N. 2, and I don't think I will ever play another B.N. to the end because of all it demands.
