I love anime. It is by far my favorite form of media in existence. I also love hearing about anime I haven't heard of before. So I ask the Vizzed community this question. What are your top 5 anime of all time? If you wish you can list only 1 or however many you like and if you want to you can tell me why you loved it so much. I'm open to anything so give me some ideas.

Well here are my top 5 anime's of all time. I will be listing them from 5 to 1, 5 being in last place 1 being the top spot and my favorable best choice. 5.)Gintama, 4.) Inuyasha, 3.)Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, 2.) Bleach, 1.) Naruto. I put Naruto at the number 1 spot because it was the first anime I ever watched and was maybe one of the first few animes to come to America in my generation and well it just has a better story line and is more entertaining then the other animes I listed.

Not an easy question to answer.
This has allot to do with Generational Influences as well as Cultural ones.

I favour the Comics and the Video Games.
For some reason I have grown out of the Shows. I might Catch a movie but the Shows just do not "feed me" any more. It could be the odd stuff in the news directly affecting my everyday life. I have no need for extra drama. Eventually when the crazy news stops dominating the break room at work? I might get back into it.
(I once wanted to write fiction tales after I retire. Manga and Anime tends to use the slightest of tools to tell so much. Then when they go big? You can not take your eyes off the screen or the page. It's good stuff. One would have to be a fool to not take a note here or there.)
For Now?
The Video Games are the only thing I can stomach. (You see a few buds get laid off or worse in the dozens and later catch on that it is related to current events in the news? You tend to stop caring about fictional characters.)
It's still a good topic to cover in a recreational site.

orionfoxgibson : I'm surprised you know about Tank Police. I got the whole VHS set of it in a box of old movies from a yard sale. I gotta say... its so terrible that its good. Thank you for your input, I enjoyed reading about why you weren't really into it anymore.

1)Sword art online (it's the type of anime that never gets old and makes you want to watch it again and again)
2)Code Geass (and it's squeal.)
3.Death Note
4)Kenichi

1. Keroro Gunso/Sgt. Frog
A funny anime about alien frogs from Keron trying to take over the world
2. Azumanga Daioh
FUNNIEST. ANIME. EVER! Filled with lovable characters and relatable plotlines.
3. Tales of the Abyss
Awesome anime about one of my favorite video games ever.
4. Shinryaku! Ika Musume/Squid Girl
Another funny anime, it's similar to Keroro Gunso, except a squid instead of frog.

My top five are as follows

3: Sword Art Online
4: Angel Beats

5. Darker than Black

Ok here's my top five, I'll go from 5 to 1.
5-I need to know if anyone here has watched any Deadman Wonderland, that show is so insanely sick.
4-Also I don't care what you all think but One Piece will always have a place on my list as well, I just can't stop watching it when I start and there is soooo many episodes.
3-Dragonball (not Z, but I do love me some Z) would probably go on there next.
2-If you don't like Cowboy Beebop than just leave now.
1-Last but not least by any means is DRUMROLLLLLL..............  Rurouni Kenshin check it out if you haven't already.

I wanted to create this thread so bad!!!! ?1st of all I have to give a shout out to bloodyb who showed me a site to watch dubbed animes that I had been looking for.
Here's my list.

If you haven't seen the Ninja Scrolls Movie you're missing out on hardcore anime.

Top five favorite anime? I have tons of favorites! But I will list five anime that I really like in no order.

Clannad - It's a truly wonderful anime. It made me laugh and cry through the whole thing. It's worth watching.

Grave of the Fireflies - It's a movie, but it's still anime. This is one of the saddest anime I've ever seen. It's so amazing yet heartbreaking.

Angel Beats - It's a really great anime. It made me laugh and cry like Clannad (and it's made by the same company)

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni - This is an amazing anime. It's has some great moments. (However, I do not recommend this if you don't like horror. Higurashi is known as one of the most scariest anime)

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - It's a magical girl anime, but with a few dark moments. It's truly worth watching. (and again, it's pretty sad)

Steins;Gate and Clannad ~ After Story usually switch around between first and second, so it's more like a tie.

This is going to be a little odd, since you are asking for some without a genre restriction. Number 5 has got to be Karin, just because it is simple and funny, yet fulfills my desire for romantic interactions. Number 4...Vandread. I will say this now THIS ANIME IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! The ultimate play on time and space entirely centered around an ever-growing perverted joke, enough said. 3 goes to Mirai Nikki, due to its romantic and psycho atomosphere. Would not recommend for anyone who cannot stand any level of horror. At second, I place Fairy Tail, from crack-up jokes to depressing backstories, this anime has got 'em covered. Would be higher except it's not really something everyone gets into. Code Geass slips into first by being a collaboration of many genres. I would find most people hard pressed to say there was nothing for them in Code Geass, hence its position at Number 1 on my list.

Ok this is a little hard to narrow down to just 5 but I think I got it down to just 5.
5 I will go with Maria Holic who needs a perverted guy when you have a perverted girl
4 I will go with Excel Saga now this is just funny with a group trying to take over a city
3 I will go with High School DxD devils vs. angles vs Archangels with a lot of dirtiness to it
2 I will go with Elfin Lied now this was hard to decide what went 1 and 2  this one is a close number 2 just because its been so long since I watched it. Anyway how can we go wrong with a superhuman chick with pyhcotic tendencies 
1 I will go with High School of the Dead this is a great show I love zombies
