 That looks very interesting. Although I'm not sure how I feel about having to get games installed because usually u would just have to insert the disk and play the game, not install it.. as for the console design It looks similar to like an nes console well the at least the shape and size of it. as for the control. It looks like it has a decent d-pad on it. Which hopefully it s because microsoft really screwed up on the d-pad last time. anyways nice facts

Quite possibly the worst part, and the part all of my friends (and me) were scared of was the Kinect control. Why have the controller at all then?

Everything else on it is not that special and the specs are rather sub-par - My bloody laptop that I am using to type this is better than that.

The only thing here that really interests me is the 3 operating systems which I will have to look more into - if Steam games can be playable through a Windows operating system it may gain back some value, but it pales in comparison to the PlayStation 4 - and yet, this will be hugely popular with no logical reason.

The Xbox One sounds really cool. I'm not planning on getting one anytime after it releases though because I'm already planning on possibly getting a Wii U eventually and after that I might not get any more game systems.

Shouldnt you have put this in future consoles?
Blu ray, no surprise, it was pretty much confirmed they would switch soon after the ps3 launched.
USB 3.0, nice, same as ps3, potentially gigabit transfer speeds.
3 operating systems, thats a curve ball.
Not backward compatable either, i almost expected it to be in order to comete with ps4 which also doesent offer backword compatability. I guess they are trying to minimise costs.

Id like to see the processor and graphic card specs, by all rumours theyre below the ps4's but itd be good to see for sure.
Multi tasking, same as ps4. I wonder if you can do in game browsing like the ps4? That would be bad if you couldnt.

No idea what the ps4 hdd is either, 500gb is pretty good but i wonder how big the games are. 120GB on ps3 flew away.

Im somewhat surprised the ps4 camera is better...
And i never use skype so that does little for me.

Does the 'One' have ANYTHING to compete with the PS4?

I honestly think that Microsoft officially became completely stupid.
I'll list their mistakes as I see them:

-Fees for used games.
-Requiring every game to be installed.
-Kinect required.
-Focuses less on actual gaming, while focusing on TV integration more.
-No backwards compatibility with the 360.
-Ugly console.
-Stupid, slightly confusing name.

Here's what I think they did right:

-Nice, comfortable looking controller.
-Halo TV.

Dualage : Yes. We do need another Games Crash - Nintendo won the world's heart with games back then and could do it again now. Also, I have always 'bashed' EA for their poor choices - how can they balls it all up so many times and keep going?

Maybe if another games crash happened Sega would jump to the opportunity and actually make the Dreamcast 2?

Tails the Fox : That would be awesome. I'd love to see SEGA rise again. Hypothetically, if the crash happened now, it would be the perfect opportunity for Sega considering they are currently partnered with Nintendo, giving the least backlash possible on Sega's side. Besides, I could go for some more Nintendo vs. Sega action like the good old days. The only time in video game history where no one argued to death which console was better and just played both.

And yea, I do agree EA makes stupid decisions, and made me almost cry of laughter when they said the Wii U was crap. It's like the openly announced "Graphics makes the games so f**k Nintendo!!". I love Nintendo to death and that comment was gold.

The WiiU can't output to 4K resolution - therefore it is not the best possible graphics and therefore it is crap. How could you not see this?

If 2 of the biggest consoles went out I dont think many people would want to rsik investing in the sector.
I think the biggest problem with consoles is they arent really made with the game designers in mind, which hurts the industry.

Incidentally, there is a table of the consoles on wikipedia, and ps4 seems to smoke xbox in every one

thenumberone : I just had a look at that and found that the One only outputs in HD. This sounds standard, but believe it or not, not everyone has a HD TV. If that information is to be believed then it might not work on every TV or without a HDMI cable. It also seems to be dedicating 3GB RAM to stuff that isn't games. This is likely for the multitasking, but the PS4 has multitasking AND streaming and only dedicates 1GB to that, implying Microsoft do not know how to optimise. This is getting stupid - you look into all of the known specs and it still fails.

It has in-fact been confirmed that Xbox one will NOT play used games. Users will have to activate and register every game. They said something about "trading games" online somehow but details are sketchy at best regarding this.

"Used Games?

One thing Microsoft hasn't been clear about: used games. We know that every game will come with an activation code, and that you'll have to install a game to your system's harddrive before using it. You'll also have to register it online and connect it to your Xbox Live account. Your whole family will be able to play the same game on your Xbox One, but if you want to, say, bring a game to a friend's house and play on his machine, you'll have to use your account. If you give a game to a friend, and he wants to play it on his own account, he'll have to buy it.

Sounds like the concept of "used games" as we know it might be going away. But... Microsoft says there will be *some* way to trade Xbox One games online. They're being sketchy on the details, though."

So it will be just like PC games.

Jordanv78 : The thing about PC games is that people usually get them through downloads through Steam so its not so much of an issue on PC.

Yeh but the ps4 has far better RAM, so its hardly surprising that they have to dedicate more to the applications. It may look like they have a similar setup (both have 8GB RAM) but ps4 has GDDR5 and xbox has DDR3. DDR3 is a fairely standard RAM chipset. GDDR5 is pretty top end graphics RAM, i really didn't expect ps4 to use it, that is going to be massively better than what the xbox one is offering.

Even the proccessor is better. Both ps4 and xbox are using the same proccessor, but sony are using a tweaked one, it will deliver better performance.
