"Nothing is ahead!" Replies William. "We just gotta hold them off while we make a run for it!" he shouts. "If you take out any that get close, I'll try to shoot them from a distance". William switches over to the passenger seat where Yuri originally was. He kneels down on his knees facing backwards. He rests his rifle on the back of the seat so it has a better accuracy. He aims down behind the speeding vehicle. He picks out a monster that was roaring and shoots it in the mouth.

The men keep fighting, refusing to give up, even as the beasts gain ground on them. Weapon limitations keep the soldiers from wiping out their foes as quickly as they need to, and a few of the creatures get close, and reach out for Koushiro and Yuri, when suddenly the vehicle swerves and spins a 180°, sending William overboard. After the spin, the vehicle stops, and to their dismay, the men in the back, see why they're stopping: They're surrounded. "This is not my day" Koushiro says as he jumps out of the vehicle, with Yuri close behind. Yuri and Koushiro stand back to back, trying to fend off attacks, while Johnny limps to a nearby tree for support. One of the beasts lunge for him, but he quickly dives out of the way, causing the beast to fly head first into the tree, which leaves it unconscious. The men fight hard, but the beasts are closing in, and as they are slowly pushed back, they all know the end is near. William who was thrown from the vehicle, landed outside of the ambushing beast's formation. As he rises to his feet, shaking his head to clear of the cob webs, he sees them closing in on his friends. Thinking quickly, he jumps in the abandoned ATV, and slams his foot down on the gas pedal, sending it flying into the creatures from behind. This buys the men a little more time, but the resilient creatures slowly rise again, and resume the assault. One grabs William and slams him on the ground. As William looks up, he sees the beast's mouth open wide, and smells it's foul breath as it comes in for the kill. Just as it starts to make a meal of him, it, along with all of the other beasts, freezes, their attention shifts to the distance. There's an eerie and awkward silence, as the fighting stops as abruptly as it began, and the men simply stare at the beasts. All at once, the creatures begin to run in fear, leaving the men more confused than ever. "The fog is lifting" Yuri notes "midday...this is odd. And sure enough, their armor is vanishing with it". "They knew we would slaughter them if they weren't protected by it" Johnny says. "Well I don't know about you guys, but armor or not, I would have been dinner in about two more seconds" William interjects. "The beings you face are called Xarul, and they feed off of darkness" an unfamilliar voice anounces. The men turn to see one of the more human-like beings, much like the one that tried to kill Yuri and Johnny back at the camp, walking toward them. William raises his laser rifle "Stay where you are, or your next step will be your last!" he commands. The creature stops. "I mean you no harm, sir. It was I who scared the Xarul off, and caused the dark mists to lift. I do believe you would have lost your face in another moment or two, were it not for my intervention", the creature says with a smile. "Why should I believe you? You're one of them" William asks. The creature looks at Yuri, and with a tilt of it's head, asks "Are all of your kind this way? I believe you call it... closed minded?" looking back at William, it replies "I assume you have yet to learn that just because one looks different, that does not make them an enemy? Where I am from, such an assumption that all of one's kind are the same, is considered quite offensive. If I were against you, why would I not have let the Xarul destroy you. You said yourself that you were done for. And if this is not proof enough, I brought your friend along with me" he gestures as Andrew approaches "I should think you would take better care of your own, than to leave him alone to face the xarul by himself. Have humans no sense of brotherhood?". William lowers his weapon "Ok, I believe you, but why are you turning on your own, while talking to me about brotherhood?". "There will be plenty of time to discuss that later" it replies "but for now, we need to head for shelter. I can only hold the darkness at bay for so long. Follow me. I will lead you to safety, at least for today. Tonight, I will tell you how to defeat your foes...and where to find them" As the men head for the ATV, the creature calls to them "Leave your vehicle. It is hardly suitable for the journey that lies ahead of you. I will equip you more appropriately". Unsure what to expect, but too confused about the events of the past few minutes, they go along with him. As they arrive at the promised shelter, which turns out to be an underground cellar, the creature introduces itself as Andop.

(Ooc: I will leave this part of the story open for 24 hours. During this time, each player may ask one question of Andop, which will be answered in my next post. This will be everyone's chance to help shape the rest of the story, which is nearing an end)

"How were you able to lift the fog?" Yuri asks, "We could find great use in that knowledge."

(Ooc: Sorry for the late post. Mother's day weekend was busy. Also Moblingardens was unable to post, due to post count restrictions, so I added his question in my post)






Andop listens to the men's questions as he prepares a medicine that he assures William will help aleviate the headache he incurred from being thrown from the ATV. "Here" Andop says as he hands the liquid to William. "Now, in answer to your questions, I used to serve as a member of the royal army of my people. I was what I believe your kind would call a General, I do hope I have employed the correct term. My job was to command a group of our most elite warriors in battles. Our goal was simply to protect our Queen. She led us many years in peace, and right. She was a good ruler, and kind to her people. Two years ago however, the darkness began to move in. Our queen made a league with the foul beings, allowing them to rule indirectly. They began to train our warriors to be cruel, and used our power to destroy the innocent. One day, after we invaded and destroyed a peaceful village, I saw some of them brutally torturing a young child. I could finally take no more, and I killed the ones that were torturing him. I vowed to both myself, and the dying child, that I would see to it that the beasts were destroyed". The men notice a tear in Andop's eye, and are surprised at how simillar they are, despite their being from different planets. "That, my friends, is why I am helping the supposed enemy of my people. I realize the dark ones are our true enemy. As for the dark mists," he looks to Yuri "I have a limited amount of power over them because...I was in charge of the dark powers for a time. You see, I was exposed to the dark essence directly, which allowed me to have influence over it to an extent. Men, these dark ones, they are nothing new. They've been around since the foundation of the first civilization on my planet. They are not of my planet though. They are the dark forces of the universe, they are...dark. Evil. Their darkness is unnatural, and so unaffected by your weapons". "So their armor...isn't armor at all?" Yuri asks. "Armor? Is that what you supposed it was? No, it is the power of darkness materialized. It is" "Pure evil..." William says, as the realization sets in. "That is not too far from the truth. It is the very essence of the dark ones. The dark ones are lending their essence to shield the Xarul. In this lies your chance to strike the dark ones: when they lend their essence to shield the Xarul, they are weakened. This is why we must strike during the day, when the Xarul are covered". "I have a question about their bodily functions" says William, as he takes a step forward with a confused look on his face. "How are they able to survive with only a couple of their essential organs? It makes absolutely no sense to me". "Is there some kind of science that us humans can benefit from if we learned how their bodies work?" He adds. "I have never studied human anatomy, so I am not familliar with what your kind would call essential intestines," Andop begins "but I would remind you that the Xarul are creatures of the darkness, and as such, have no need for many things, such as eating, drinking, or excreeting. They, as all creatures of darkness, feed off of fear and darkness. I am sure you have noticed that you have become less fearful around them, and they have become somewhat weaker. A few days ago, you wouldn't have held your own for any length of time as you did earlier, I would venture. The presence of fear pheromones strengthens them, and fuels their bodies. And so, fighting them requires confidence, and light, or, good." Andop replies, "Now get some rest. You are safe here".

After a brief rest, Andop wakes the men and takes them to an aircraft unlike any they've seen. He informs them that he will finish the journey with them. As they board, Andop fires the engine up, and they take to the air. After a brief time, they land in the barren land, and see in front of them, a series of buildings. Almost resembling a small settlement about half the size of the ones that the Xarul destroyed, only this one is covered in a thick mist of darkness that seems to come from a central tower. "That is where the dark ones reside." says Andop "We must defeat them in order to save my people and yours". At Andop's advice, they split into three teams: William and Johnny are to take the back routes, and enter the tower from the South entrance; Andrew and Yuri take the main pathway, which is the quickest and most heavily guarded route, entering the front door, which is also the most dangerous route; Andop and Koushiro, having ranged weapons, take a stealth approach from the rootops, giving them an eagle's eye view of the foes from a distance, and allowing them to help their comrades in the streets, and they too will take the main entrance once the men are inside. Andop, having first hand knowledge of the structures, lays out the floor plans to the men, and establishes a rendezvous at the top floor.






And with that, the men start on their paths. None are as easy as they could have hoped. Apparently, the dark ones were just as afraid of these elite warriors as the warriors had once been of them. As they head on the difficult paths, they remember Andop's words: "Look at all the defenses they've prepared. I believe their confidence is shaken, men" and with a smile he'd added "they're afraid of you". "General Triaz always said, 'The first step to success in battle, is to get inside the other guy's head'" said Koushiro.






William and Johnny pass through two streets undetected. Their luck ends when a sniper nearly takes Johnny's head. Andop manages to pick the Sniper off, but attention has already been drawn to the men, and three surprisingly human looking goons charge them with strange sword-like weapons.










Andrew and Yuri meet a great deal of resistance as they had expected, but even they hadn't anticipated this much of a fight. At first glance, Yuri estimates an easy thirty men, all human-like, covered head to toe in black, only showing their eyes. Though this black stuff was simply clothing, thankfully.










Andop and Koushiro meet the least resistance, but have a heavy responsibility to keep up with the action below, assisting the others.

"These may be strong, but are nothing we can't handle!" Yuri says, and shortly after says softly, "These seem... human. I feel that these may be zombified versions of their former selves. If so, we must ensure that this does not continue!"

"I'm not taking any chances" yells William as he raises his rifle and pulls the trigger which sends one of the human like creatures barrelling to the ground. As he waited for his weapon to re-charge, only of the human creatures ran up to him. He smashed it in the face with the butt of his rifle but that wasn't enough to take it down. "Johnny!" He yells. "I'm going to need some help" he yells as he remembered how bad he is at CQC because of his short height.

After a long battle, and several close calls, Andrew and Yuri manage to break through the defenses of the enemy, and reach the main entrance to the tower. Entering as quietly as possible, the two encounter a guard with his back turned. Yuri grabs him from behind, covers his mouth, and with a jab of his sword, eliminates him quietly. The men manage to sneak past many of the guards, and end most encounters with minimal noise. They make their way to the rendezvous point, but as they wait on the others, an alarm is sounded, and they are surrounded.


Johnny and William make it to the back entrance, and heading inside, meet little resistance. William tries not to fire his rifle any more than he has to, so they can be as quiet as possible. Instead, he strikes most of the guards with the butt of his rifle, while Johnny finishes them off with his sword. As they near the staircase, the alarm is raised. Then racing up the stairs, they see Yuri and Andrew, engaged in battle with a small group of guards. The four men team up and wipe out all but two, who are taken down from behind. As they fall to the ground, the men see the one who killed them: "Captain Bryant!" William all but shouts "How..." "Did you ever doubt your Captain, McInnes?" Captain Bryant interjects "I was knocked out cold by those beasts, and when I came to, I saw what they had done to the base...and the men" his voice trails off. After clearing his throat, he continues "I vowed to avenge my men. I managed to follow the beasts back here without being noticed. I decided to take out their HQ, as payback." he says, his voice thick with hatred, "And I'm proud to see that some of our finest men have made it here. I don't know all of you, but seeing those fatigues is enough". As they catch up, Andop approaches alone, with blood on his clothes. "Andop. Where is..." Yuri, fearing the answer, can't bring himself to finish. "We lost him" Andop lowers his head "I'm sorry...I did all I could". "Oh man...not Koushiro" Yuri says in shock. "Who is this?" Captain Bryant says, his weapon raised. "That's Andop, sir." William answers "He helped us get this far. He seeks revenge on the dark ones as well. He has first hand knowledge, and has arranged a plan of action for us. We should work together to..." "He lies!" Captain Bryant interrupts, as he pulls the trigger. Andop narrowly evades the blast. "No, he's helping us, sir. He's saved our butts more than once" Johnny says. "He's brought you into a trap is what he's done! Who tripped the alarm? Was it you, William?" Captain Bryant asks. "No, sir" William replies. All of the men deny tripping an alarm. "Well then who do you suppose did?" Captain Bryant asks, as he looks at Andop "And isn't it funny that the one time you trust him alone with one of your men, he comes back covered in blood, saying he lost him? He killed him". Andop looks up, shock on his face "No! I..." he begins, but stops, as he dodges another blast from Captain Bryant's blaster. "Wait..." Andop says, with a sound of recognition in his voice "He's not your Captain". "Yes, he is." William says "He survived the attack on the base". "No, he's controlled by the dark ones. Just like all of the guards here". "Wait, you mean we've been killing our own?" Yuri asks. "Well...sort of." Andop answers "They are human, and alive, but they're under total control of the dark ones. Their minds are inactive, so they are not entirely themselves, just physically". "You expect them to believe you, alien scum?" Captain Bryant shouts "McInnes, kill him!". William remains frozen. "McInnes! That is an order!". Still, no response. Andop jumps Captain Bryant, and the two struggle. With both Andop and Captain Bryant calling for the men to help, they find themselves in a difficult spot.

Will they help Andop, or Captain Bryant?

(Ooc: first reply to this will be counted as the answer. Also, "help" implies killing the opponent of the one you help)

"I... don't know..." Yuri says as a small tear wells up in his eye. "I know not the deceiver. How do we know if Bryant is pure... How do we know if Andop is true..." Yuri closes his eyes tightly, puts his hands on his head and shakes his head. "I... don't know! Now is not the time for this - we need not our allies fighting! ...someone help." Yuri drops to his knees.

William lies there frozen. He has no idea who he should trust. He has been on the battlefield for years with Captain Bryant but Andop has also helped save them. He tries to understand what is going on. Is Captain Bryant really clouded by the darkness? He men did attack us when we entered but did they know better? William lies there hoping someone else will make a move.

The struggle continues for what seems like an eternity, though in reality, it is only a few minutes. The men, unable to decide who to believe, sit in stunned silence as they watch the battle in horror. After an intense fight, Andop manages to deliver a sound blow to Captain Bryant's head, and the struggle ends. As he rises to his feet, William notes a look of hurt in Andop's eyes. Alien or not, the pain of a sense of betrayal paints his face. "Andop...I'm sorry. We were confused" Yuri begins. "I heard. You knew the answer... it is better to make the wrong decision, than no decision at all". The men remain silent. After a pause, Andop turns his back and says "Come, men. We must make our way to the dark ones. Time is short. Our best course of action is to..." a blast is heard and Andop falls to the floor. The men turn to see Captain Bryant with his weapon raised. "Did you seriously just shoot the guy in the back?!? What is wrong with you?" Johnny's fury gets the best of him, and he continues with complete disregard for who he's talking to. "Warrior, you know better than to talk that way to a Captain!" Captain Bryant interrupts. "And you know better than to shoot a man in the back!" Johnny retorts, "Such cowardly conduct is not befitting a Space brigade recruit, let alone a Captain. You're a disgrace to the uniform you wear!". Captain Bryant rises to his feet, and stands inches from Johnny's face "One more word out of you, and you'll live to regret it, but not for long". Johnny never did take too kindly to people getting in his face, nor did trash talk or threats ever set too well with him. Where he was from, you kicked butt first, then boasted, not the other way around. And so it is, when Captain Bryant gets in his face, Johnny's southern instincts come through, and Captain Bryant finds himself face down on the floor. The men stare at Johnny, shock on their face. Captain Bryant rises to his feet, and looks at Johnny, who immediately notices a black mist of some sort briefly flash over the Captain's eyes. Before he has a chance to say anything, Captain Bryant throws his head back and begins to wail mournfully, like a man who just lost his closest friend. The men stand in silence, until suddenly Captain Bryant looks at Johnny with a wicked smile "You're through, boy". The next few moments seem to be a blur, and before anyone can react, Captain Bryant takes aim at Johnny's head, and the blast of a lazer gun fills the air.

Captain Bryant's dead body lies motionless, as a dark fluid seeps out from the fatal wound. "Andop!" William shouts. Sure enough, with his final strength, Andop had delivered the blow. The men gather around Andop as he lies there on the floor. "That wail..." Andop says weakly. "Yes, what was that?" William asks "He sounded...tormented". "It was not sadness...he spoke...it was the language...of the darkness..." Andop pauses for a deep breath "He spoke...'Come to the feast, my brothers. Behold, I have...your prey'... They're coming...beware". "Who's coming?" William probes for more information, as he tries to mend Andop's wound. "All of the forces of darkness here...ambush..." turning to Yuri, he smiles weakly "Thank you...for believing me...my friend" Andop winces "do not blame yourselves...I forgive...". With a dry eye nowhere to be found among the group, William manages to speak "I'm going to save you Andop. I've never lost a patient yet, and I don't plan to start now". Andop seems not to acknowledge it, and continues "I am fortunate to have met you men. I could not have done this alone...but I must stop short...". "No!" William protests, still working feverishly to heal Andop. "Andop..." Andop says "that was his name". "Who's name?" Yuri barely manages to choke the words out. "The boy I tried to save...his name was Andop. I took his name upon myself... as I vowed to avenge him...my given name was Rykor...Fufill my vow to that little boy...and slay the dark ones" with a shakey final breath, he looks Yuri in the eye "...be strong, and lead your team...I leave this mission in able hands...I can die...in peace..." and with that, his eyes close, and a smile comes on his face, as his life departs from him.

Before they can begin to grieve for their friend, The men see the halls ahead, thick with charging guards and horribly disfigured beasts. The men run to the elevator Andop informed them of, and get in. "The basement." Yuri says "That's where he said they are". Johnny presses the button, and they wait in silence. Halfway down, beast like creatures pry the escape hatch open, and the men take turns blasting them as they try to enter the elevator. Finally, the doors open to reveal a long corridor lined with large doors on each side. Hearing cries of pain from behind one, Andrew instinctively kicks it open. Behind it is a massive room filled with human soldiers, strapped to what appears to be an O.R. bed, but in an upright position. They are hooked to machines, that are slowly injecting a dark substance into them, the proccess is obviously a painful one. "Oh my...." Andrew mutters. Johnny's impulsiveness takes control again, as his charges the machinery, shouting in rage, he slices the tubes that deliver the fluid, and smashes the pumps. A guard runs in, but is quickly dispatched by Andrew. "Thanks for the key, pal" Andrew mutters to the dead foe, as he grabs his keyring and unfastens the locks on the cuffs. Just as the last man is freed, the room is swarmed with guards, and an intense battle begins. The freed men take to combat bare handed, and grab whatever objects are at hand. Andrew, Yuri, William, and Johnny strike back, with a renewed purpose, and intensified hatred for the enemy.

"I cannot accept it! I shall not stop until every one of these fiends are dead!" Yuri shouts, slicing through one of the guards as he unsheathed his blade, "I shall let no death be in vain! For you Rykor! For you Andop!"

William is standing at the other end of the room sniping some men down with his rifle. Every now and then a guard gets close. He's so worked up about loosing Andop that he takes the guard out with one swift swing of his rifle. He hated that he had to loose a friend like Andop. William is sensitive. He has trouble dealing with losses. He fires of his rifle again. He hears Johnny yell. "I don't know what we can do!" He yells back as he punches a guard across the face. "There's gotta be something we can do!" .

"I agree, but how can we get an entire squad of men out?" Yuri shouts to William, "How many of these are there? They can't have taken the entire planet!"

(Ooc: I'm very sorry for the late update. Life has been crazy busy. Also, this post is insanely long because I had to put two story segments together due to the fact that so many casting changes happened along the way that I had to drag the story out to fit the changes in)

As the battle rages, one of the controlled guards manages to knock Yuri's weapon from his hand. Without realizing what he's doing, Yuri instinctively throws his hands straight in front of him, palms out, and the guard is sent flying across the room, taking out several others. "How did I do that?" Yuri wonders aloud, as he looks at his hands "What is going on here?" he asks as he sees a shiney black coating covering his hands. His mind flashes back to the "armor" that he studied. It had liquified and stained his skin. It wouldn't scrub off, but later when the mists had lifted, they looked normal again. He remembered how Andop, or Rykor, had looked at him when he told them he had a limited amount of power over the darkness, because he had been exposed to it. He remembered how Rykor had looked at him and spoken those words "lead your team...". He had squeezed Yuri's hands as he spoke those words. Coming back to reality, he hears William shouting his name. How long had he been staring at his hands? Looking up, he sees a guard about to impale him. "I hope this works" he says to himself, as he places his palms out to block the sword, which sure enough stops as though his hands were made of stone. A well placed kick, and a solid fist to the head, and Yuri drops the guard. Holding his hands out, Yuri attempts to command the powers Rykor had used. To his dismay, the guards begin to stagger backwards, and out of the room. Andrew stares wide-eyed "How are you doing that???". "Who cares! Just keep doing it!" Johnny shouts. Yuri steps forward, continuing to push the foes backward and down the hall "It's a gift...from Rykor. Go! Get out and find the dark ones!" Yuri shouts in a shakey voice "I can't hold them much longer!" he adds, feeling weaker by the second. The men all run out of the room, jumping over bodies, friend and foe alike. Once out, they run down the hall, kicking doors open and finding more men to free. As the final door is kicked open, Yuri finally gives out, and falls to his knees. The enemies charge, but Andrew swoops in and grabs Yuri before they can get to him. "We found them!" Andrew informs the weakened Yuri. Feeling strength returning to him, Yuri guesses they must be nearing the source of the darkness, and he has somehow begun feeding from their power. By the time they reach the door, Yuri is able to walk on his own, and the soldiers his comrades have freed, are pouring out of several rooms, engaging in battle with the forces that were giving he and Andrew chase. As they enter the room, they find Johnny and William fighting off more guards, and behind them, two massive creatures, that seem immobile, twelve feet high and five feet wide, with four arms, two red eyes, and and a mouth full of crocodile like teeth, their bodies more that of a lumpy worm than a human. Just when they think they have exhausted the supply of guards, more begin issuing from a computer terminal in the back of the room. The battle intensifies, as all of the men engage at least two foes at once. Glancing up, Yuri sees the true goal "The machine! They're guarding that machine, not the dark ones!" he shouts, as he points at a large machine, in a room behind the terminal. The machine is almost as large as the room that houses it, and has a thick cable running from it to the circle the dark ones sit in, as well as several cords connecting it to the terminal. After disposing of the two guards that were attacking him, William picks off a few more to help the others, then attacks the dark ones, which are very vulnerable, as Rykor said. One shot, and they slump over, wounded and limp. William then hears the men that Yuri had been holding off, rushing toward them. Seeing a large object that resembles an oxygen tank, William picks it up and steps into the hallway, throwing it at the mob. When the tank hits them, it explodes, killing all of them, and blowing a hole in one of the walls. "Wow...did not see that one coming" William says, as he stares blankly at the scene, before running to the terminal and attempting to shut it down. "No use. It's all in their language...I don't understand a word of it." he says. As Johnny wipes out the last foe, he looks at William, who is lost in thought, with a look on his face that tells Johnny that whatever's going on in his head is deeply troubling him. After a brief pause, the look of contemplation turns to a look of determination, and William looks up at the others "Ok, I figured it out, but you'll have to get the soldiers we freed out of here, or it'll kill them with the dark ones. I'll wait five minutes before I start. Have them out before then". With a nod, Andrew and Yuri start evacuating the others, with Johnny following behind them slowly. William stares at the massive system "So this is it, huh? The elaborate system that controls it all." he looks in the nearby corner, where several pallets filled with more of the explosive tanks are stacked. "Andop...Rykor...Brad...this is for you guys". William walks to the corner and begins moving the explosive canisters into a small inner room-like space inside of the machine. He pulls a picture from his pocket: it's his wife. Holding it to his chest, he mutters an apology "Please forgive me, baby. I know I promised you I'd be back, but this has to be done. You'll understand one day". William raises his rifle, and takes aim at the canisters, intending to blow the system up. "Wait". William turns and sees Johnny walking in. "What are you doing here?" William asks. "I'm coming to relieve you of your duties, soldier." Johnny says shakily. "Johnny, I can't..." "You can" Johnny interjects as he grabs the rifle "and you will. You have a wife waiting for you back home. Go back to her. She needs you". "But what about you?" William asks, misty eyed. "Me?" Johnny looks down "Listen, I was a drunk before I joined this team. I came here looking for purpose in an otherwise wasted life. And seeing you about to do this today...well, I knew I'd finally found a purpose. Something worth living...and dying for." he looks back up at William "You already have a purpose: taking care of that wife of yours. Take care of her. She's the best thing that'll ever happen to ya. You don't want to lose her nor she you. Trust me". "You mean..." "Some thing's are too much for a man to handle. That's why I turned to the bottle...anyway, get out there, soldier. Let me do this. I need to know I at least did something good in my life. Don't deny me this". Reluctantly, William walks to the door, but turns around and looks back at Johnny, and with a salute, exits the room.

As William exits, the building, Andrew and Yuri inform him that they lost Johnny on the way out. "Did you see him?" Yuri asks. "...I did. He's in the control room still" William answers heavily "Go. We don't want to be anywhere near this place when it blows". "When it what??" Andrew shouts in shock. Just then, with a deafening explosion, the men see the tower going up in flames, as glass flies outward, and the walls crumble. "Noooo!!!!!" shouts Yuri, as he falls to his knees and stares at the collapsing structure. Placing a hand on Yuri's shoulder, William explains the situation to the others, and as he finishes, the darkness begins to lift, and before long, is gone entirely. "Gave his own life...way to go, Johnny. You're a hero to the entire universe..." Andrew says. After a moment of silence, all of the men head back to the nearest camp, heavy hearted for the loss of their comrade. After a few weeks of labor, they manage to repair the communications tower, and send word back to Earth.

All of the men are taken back home safely, and a memorial is erected "to honor the soldiers that saved not only their world, but all of the worlds. Warriors: William McInnes, Yuri Shiranui, Andrew Wiggin, Koushiro Yuukai, and Johnny Force". Stories of their bravery, and Johnny's sacrifice, are still told, and Johnny is posthumously awarded the medal of honor.

That was a brilliant climax. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. A Great RP turned into a brilliant story. You did a brilliant job writing this, and I look forward to more, if ever possible.
