I agree and disagree it should be longer but they should shorten another holiday to make sure that the schools are still abiding by the law

Agreed summer should be a lot longer than what it is

I'd rather have like one 1 month break for every 2 months of school, so like January off, then February and March, then April off, etc. That way we could have like a breather from school every once in a while, and we would still get the 180 days of school we have to do with weekends.

When I was younger in elementary school, I wished we had a longer summer break.  Now, I'm fine with the period of time we have for summer break.  3 months is good enough for me.

i got 23 days in the year i can take a holiday...
i only have standard holidays with Christmas's and new year.
i don't have other vacations AT ALL
but i don't really mind. I like the work i do. But since my girlfriend is still studying and she had more vacation as me i sometimes miss the extra holidays..

I don't think the summer vacations should be longer.. I think it should b shorter. People get way to lazy of school from having to long vacations..
on my older school it took a WHOLE full month for everyone to get there motivation back from school. And we had 8 weeks summer vacation on my school.

no need of longer vacations in my opinion. School is something important. To much people throw ed away there school chances...
i see to many people suffering these days because they didn't finish school..
oh well.. Its still your on choice what path you choose in life..

supercool22 : I disagree with this on the basis that if I have one week off of school, I start to forget and mess up what I've learned. Personally, I think I'd rather have school year round, because the learning should never end. However, to that extent, I think the days should be shorter.

I think we should have  summer longer and it be awesome. I want to get away from these schools.

wasqe2435 : 4 months of summer vacation is really not a great idea , the school district might take away many other vacations and you need a few days off school a least in between the school year .

I agree I think everyone wants longer summer vacation but If anything I think they will get shorter for education reasons but I'm getting sick of quick summer vacations It stinks!

I agree with this 100% summer vacations seem to pass by too quickly and I enjoy them because I like going to the beach and taking a well deserved break from school. I feel like it is too short and needs to be just another week  longer because anything longer than that won't be good for your performance at school. But yes I do enjoy my summer vacations and I also think school is important, so a slightly longer summer vacation will probably mean shorter holidays during the school year though. And also some students come back to school all uneducated and if a vacation is too long then they will just completely forget everything they learned last year. I like to review over summer once I have gone to the beach and school is a few weeks from starting up again I like to study and refresh myself on stuff I learned last year so I can still stay sharp for the new school year. So maybe 1 extra week of vacation, nothing to extreme or else too much will make you forget everything important you learned from the previous year that will probably be reviewed the upcoming year. So it is best to do a light review beforehand when summer vacation is nearly over. School is very important.

I would agree but why goof off more than we learn?What good would that do in the future?We should actually be getting more school days than summer days to tell you the truth.We already get weekends off anyways.

Well college finishes early for me in the UK so I am getting nearly 4 months on top of a few weeks here and there, but I do agree you should get at least three months off for the summer so long as you can be trusted to do a bit of studying, if you can't then you should be limited to your current amount
