Alright, so I tried this in another thread, but due to a limited set of viewers and the recent site lag, it didn't go off so well.

Okay, so let's try this again, shall we?

Let's all go for a walk!
That's right.  Let's go for a walk.

See, I live in the city, but I adore the country side.  However, this city isn't exactly the safest city to stroll around in, so I don't really go out too much, and if I do, I certainly don't go alone.  Being that I don't know anybody here however.... well it's hard to find someone to go walking with me.  I thought one day to myself... 'Boy, wouldn't it be great if I could take a walk with some of my vizzed friends?'

Now, obviously that's a dream that will never happen.  This doesn't mean we can't all appreciate a nice walk with someone else!  Get some fresh air, get some exercise, and look great doing it!

I propose we all go for a walk on Saturday, February 2nd.  My proposed rules are this:
1.  Bring someone with you.  This will make the walk more fun and involve someone else in getting some fresh air and exercise!
2.  The walk must be at LEAST an hour long.  Preferably 2.  
3.  Somewhere along your walk, find an item that represents your city in some way.  Take a picture of it with your walking buddy (if they'll allow their picture to be posted), and then share it with us here!  Tell us why it represents your city and/or why it's so special.

Who's in? 

It's a cute idea - now if only I had somebody who'd be willing to walk that long with me - and an idea of what I'd take a photo of. Because I think I could find a willing walking partner - with the two little doggies. But a photo of something? I dunno. I sort of live off of a highway. XD

Well, you could take a picture of anything, really.  Wouldn't bother me at all... especially if that'd keep you from participating!  For example, I took this picture when I went on the walk two or three days ago:


I wanted to title it something along the lines of "This is how I feel about my city."

Singelli : I'll try, but I don't really have the opportunity to walk in the city. The main thing in our city is the Florida Gators stadium. Yep, the swamp. I'll try for the walk though. XD!

Nice picture. I could see why you would feel that way. I am blessed in that I don't live in the city, and even once in the city, it's not too crowded until you get to the mall. It's really nice. Maybe I'll walk down to Coldwater Creek.

Well I'm up for it.  My little town has great stuff.  Not to mention we have a great festival in September.

Oh that sounds like a lovely idea, assuming it's not -10 degrees here or anything. 

I'll have to call my cousin and make her walk with me. She's got two big dogs, so we can take them out.

Our city has these lovely winding flood-plain parks that are perfect for strolling through; we're pretty lucky, since we have all this land that they can't do anything with, they made parks.

I encourage everyone to give it a shot. It's good to get out of the house once and awhile.

(Although I don't know if I can do a full hour, with my health issues. I'll see what happens and how I feel.)

I will do my best to participate. Depending on how cold it is in Chicago on that day (The past two days the high has been like 18 with a low of 6 degrees...and -15 with the wind chill)

So if the weather is anywhere near that cold I will do my usual exercise...and try to walk either in some sort of indoor mall, or walk with a friend on treadmills at the gym ;-) That work?

I have a metabolism that's too fast for walking to really be helpful to me, but I can certainly ride my bike around for a while. I'll try to find something nice to snap a photo of, too.

Lazlo Falconi :  Hey, riding a bike is perfect, actually!  If I had a bike, I'd bike myself.  Great thinking!  Is KG gonna go with you?

Is anybody else interested in this?  I mean, I know vizzed was down and all, so this probably got buried and forgotten about.  It IS this Saturday though, February 2nd.  I'm looking forward to taking a walk 'with' all of you, and seeing what photos you took.  

I promise I will do this once you dont freeze to death while doing so. There is also the fact of getting harrased or stabbed if you walk around in my neighbourhood for two hours doing "nothing" but I will try to live with it then. I miss the fresh air and excerise.

Oh yes, I did forget to summon everyone.

Brigand, I will pray that you are safe.  I live in a neighborhood like that as well, so be sure you take a partner if you can!

Singelli :   It honestly depends on how cold it is. we got some snow earlier this week and if I can convince someone to let me go. If I can't I will do it on the treadmill and take a picture of the yard or something from the window.

I would love to, if you could skip a continent. The company would be apreciated. Though my worst worry is that it is still too cold outside. I am still revering from a flu and I bet I would freeze the tip of my nose off.
