It looks like it will be kind of hard to change over to the new type of style, which is alright a guess. Not so crazy about the whole map thing, because it looks like it would be hard to see what's behind you, but maybe they'll do something about it. But there's no still a little chance that I'll buy it. I most likely won't like the Pokémon, even though the battle scenes look epic. But it's strange how they're ending the 5th generation at only four games, and all of them in the same generation. But I actually like that the Ruby and Sapphire games aren't coming first, because they have come out ten years after the first, and since it won't be this year, at least, it seems like it, Emerald could be remade instead, which would be awesome! But with this game, it looks like there could finally be a good starting fire type Pokémon again.

I'm so getting version Y and I'm picking Chespin. (naming it chestnut :3) My reaction was OMG!!! YESSS!!!! And I started jumping up and down acting like a crazy maniac. It'll be 10/9 months til is released worldwide, I'm SOOOO Excited! I'm looking forward to see a bunch of awesome new pokemon and getting the awesome Y-shaped bird. All I could say is, Goodbye Generation 5, Here comes Generation 6!

The graphics look amazing for this... but at the same time, I'm weary because Pokemon seems like it ran out of good ideas a long time ago :x

Are you f***ing with me? I have to memorize another gen of pokemon and its on the godfrosaken 3DS, fisrly I wish they would stop with new games and do remakes also I've found new prey to hack the s*** out of.

I know gen 4 and 5 were horrible but Pokemon could become a good game again you know like sonic generations made sonic come out of the dark sonic ages

Omg, the games look awesome. The fire starter is amazing and the legendaries...I've had a loss for words. Of course, the dragon one is a lot better than the deer one but this got me wondering why would they make a deer and a dragon? I guess they're trying to break the pattern because they've made all the other related legendaries the same creature/animal.

fusionaceblus : Well originally the Pokemon games were colors (Generation 1: Red, Blue, Yellow; Generation 2: Gold, Silver; Crystal wasn't). Then they started doing gems/jewerly (Crystal. Generation 3: Rudy, Sapphire, Emerald. Generation 4: Diamond, Pearl, Platinum). Then they went back to colors (Black & White).

Now X and Y could be placeholders; but I doubt it as they kind of ran out of colors and gems.

Oldschool41 : Well, I don't think that they used the original naming idea from the 1st generation for Black and White, since black and white are not really colors. Only a little change of course, but differently than before. This means in every generation, there are different kinds of titles. Gold and silver are no colors as well (they're noble metals).

However, the gen. 4 games are named non-sensely, because it's a gem (Diamond), a thing that is not really a gem, but used for jewelry (Pearl), and again a noble metal (Platinum). Platinum fits better as name for the last of gen. 2 so it would be Diamond - Pearl - Crystal for gen. 4. Now they could have switched the order to Diamond - Crystal - Pearl and it were two gems and well, pearl; while there were three noble metals for the 2nd generation. In my opinion this would be an essentially better solution.

For the gen. 5 games, maybe they mean more something like Yin and Yang and so on (also when you notice Zekrom on white and Reshiram on Black), which could explain a bit better that they made the titles X and Y. But only, if you can see X and Y as something like x and y chromosomes. Yeah, really speculative and this could only be "proved", if Deoxys would play a role in those games. But "Black 2 and White 2" are the worst Pokémon names, and they sure ran out of ideas that would fit good to the old games...

Ryroe : I agree they should have just made it Pokemon Gray.

servbot128 : I don't know some of the generation 4 pokemon looked weird (Magnezone, some of the ghost pokemon).

servbot128 : So he can't have his own opinion? I think that some 4th generation Pokémon are alright, but it's definitely not as bad as the 5th generation. And for the names, I don't like that it isn't some kind of color or gem, but there are only so many  colors.

The names of the 2 legendarys have just been announced today.
the deers name is xerneas and is pronounced zurr-nee-us and the dragons name is yveltal pronounced ee-vell-tall.

I am assuming the reason the games are named x and y is because of the legendarys names which begin with an x and y.

Btw if you want to get the information you can just go on serebii because thats where i am getting it all from since they update daily.

Generation 4 is a good gen but it could have been better Iam not saying its a bad gen Iam saying that it needed a little bit more improvement I actually love the gen 4 games

Sounds great. I would probably get x because it sounds cooler and i like how the battles are in 3d. 

I would most likely get Y with Fennekin. I didn't notice this until the 4th gen, but I picked a different type each gen & started repeating that order at gen 4 so I think I would keep that pattern going. 


On a side note, Yveltal doesn't roll off the tongue very well.... :/
