GAMEPLAY A: There's a lot of action in Contra 3. You do things that you would never do in a video game. Have you ever defeated a giant alien while hanging on to missiles that keep disappearing as you kill the enemy? The non stop action makes the game fun and challenging. There's a lot of variety in the game as well. Stage 1, 3, and 6 have side scrolling action. Stage 2, and 5 have an over head view. Finally stage 4 is where you drive a floating motorcycle at a very fast rate. Each stage is extremely fun and challenging and the amount of destruction you can unleash is amazing.

GRAPHICS A+: Not only are visuals crisp and clean, but also there is a lot of "mode 7" effects in the game. They range from airplanes zooming in right in your face, to objects rotating with super speed. Another thing I like about the graphics is how giant the explosions are and how many there are.

SOUND A: The SNES had sound capabilities so strong. That it could produce music that sounds like a whole orchestra. This game has really good sounding music that sounds cool. It really fits the atmosphere of this game.

ADDICTIVENESS A+: The game is short, but you will want to play for hours. There are 3 difficulty settings and you get the full ending if you beat the game on hard.. Have someone else join you for fun, non stop, 2 player action.

DEPTH C: There's only 6 levels, there quite large. However the game is still very short. There is a 2 player option though, and 3 difficulty settings so you can always challenge yourself. Plus there's a lot of variety in the levels.

DIFFICULTY MEDIUM HARD: The first and second Contra on the NES were hard games. Believe it or not this game is easier. It still is fairly hard and the action is hectic. So don't expect to get good without some practice.

G@mehe@ad, this was a nicely succinct review, but I just have one question: Is there a reason you don't use the number rating system?  I don't mind the letter ratings, but it would be kind of nice to have number ratings.  Would you consider on adding number ratings alongside your letter ones?

Singelli: The number rating system has 10 numbers I can use to rate stuff, and I don't find all of them necessary. The letter grading system has 5 letters, A, B, C, D. and F. I only need these 5 ratings to do my reviews if the grade is slightly above or below. I can simply use -, or +. So with 5 grades to choose from. I can rate games much easier.
