I love macs. I just love them. There's nothing more to say. I want a mac so badly that I asked my mom even though I have a 10 month old laptop. The thing is, my mom'll get me a macbook... when I graduate from HIGH SCHOOL!!!!! I JUST turned 13. That's more than 5 years! I can't stand waiting...everytime I see a mac, I start acting like a little kid. I'm just so happy and joyous, it's just so great. Is there anybody on the board who has a Macbook that they're not using? If so, I'll take it. All it needs is: Made in 2000+ and has OS X. If you have a macbook that you no longer need, that has what I need, I'll take it!!!!!! Remember: Macbook. Not iMac or Mac pro, but Macbook.

I agree I love Macs, I currently use the fully loaded Macbook Pro first gen with the 17" display.

I don't think I'll ever get anything else. It's simply great. I plan on getting a new Macbook, however I would also keep this Mac as well. Start saving money...

Thanks. I can't believe that you'd throw away a newish computer!

Can't blame you for wanting to keep your macbook. So, what type of new macbook ya planning on getting? Since I know you do advanced stuff, I'd recommend a high-end Macbook or a Macbook Pro. Both have a lot of good stuff.

I <3 my Mac.

I have a 20" iMac... it's beautiful *hugs Mac) Before this I had an iBook... that was in 2005. It still works the way it did when I bought it (seeing as how I didn't ever do anything but write essays and browse the interwebs and download some music...). I bought a new one because I wanted a desktop desperately. It gets annoying to use just a laptop.

Im one of those people who's undecided on Mac. No ones really sat me down and told me the + and - of them in comparison to standard PC systems. I saw an old desktop mac computer at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago going for $50 but it was from back in the mid 90's.

gtwalq: I'll tell you right now.
Pros: Everything in a Mac is, literally, made for eachother. This results in less crashing, glitches, faster, more stable, etc. You get software, hardware, and everything from one company. A PC uses software from this company, hardware from this company, etc. Macs come with actual programs. None of those useless freebies like "Try AOL!". Macs come with programs like iTunes, Quicktime, Garage Band. Macs have less viruses than Windows PCs. You may think this is because of Macs popularity, but it's only a sliver of the reason. The real reason for this is because of Macs security code. It's much more advanced than Windows'. OS X(the current mac OS; pronounced 10(even though I call it X instead of 10))is an open source OS, like Linux and OpenSolaris. This means that coders from all around the world can work on OS X to make it better, whereas only Microsoft works on Windows.
Base of Pros: Faster, Safer, More Stable
Cons: You won't find near as many programs for Mac as you would for Windows. Seriously, there are a good bit of Mac products but it's hard to find them because everybody is making programs for Windows. This means that it may be a hassle to find a specific program on Mac. Because Macs come with actual programs, they're more expensive than PCs.
Base of Cons: Do I really need to go through this?
That's about it...

Fun fact: Every single Pro you gave about Mac I can have on windows computer by merely knowing what I'm doing, well except for open source, which OS X ain't by the way, just parts of the software is open source. (which Windows has too)

Though sure, macs are easier, but with a bit of work and such you can fix most things macs can do on a PC, well except for really powerful video/image editing.

Oh and try to upgrade the hardware of a Mac, I dare ya.

I know you can't update the hardware. I don't give a crap about updating the hardware! I'm:
1.)Too lazy to do it
2.)Don't know how to do it
3.)Don't have enough money to pay someone

That's entirely my point, that's why Mac is good for you, windows would be better though for those who like to take some time to figure out how to fix things up, and for those who really want to spend time to patch things up, well there's Linux for that.

Yeah the way I see it, Mac is for anyone who knows nothing about computers and/or is into Video Editing or Graphic Design. For all other purposes, Windows is usually the best solution.

Well, take it from my experience I am both a Mac and PC user and have used both for many many years. The difference is quality, durability, and lifetime. Mac has outlasted all my PC's and yes I'm hardcore when it comes to using a computer so I know Macs can handle a lot more then PC's can.

Upgrading hardware is hard BUT if you got a Mac Pro then it's a piece of cake.

My Mac has never crashed or died on me ever. Hell it's so good I got a new Mac sitting in a box in my room and have yet to open it cause my current Mac is still too awesome and performs great.

Sure it might lack some applications and software but if you got VMWare Fusion then that is no problem.

A computer is a computer, none better then the other, they are both good for the similarities and differences aside. Just depends on your prefrence.

Some people like McDonalds others like Burger King, in reality they offer the same thing... food... same goes for Mac and PC.

When you use VMware, do you have to buy Microsoft Windows?

yes you do, you still need the disks for whatever operating system you want to use with it.
VMware is basically just an emulator for OS's, you still need all the software for whatever OS you plan on emulating.

I don't get where you come up with this stuff Rasen, you still have to get windows if you use boot camp.

It's not like Apple can magically give it to you.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
