"Closing tags" is done very similarly to opening them, just put a

For every time that you 'open' a tag inside your header (no matter how much you style them using CSS/the style tag (style="")), you will have to 'close' that tag at the end of your signature (or where ever you want to close it, but you want the signature in this case).

Also, judging from your code up there, you tried to insert a background image using the following:
background: url() no-repeat;

Unless I'm missing some css stuff specific to this site, this will not work, you simply link an image directly with css, so you'd have the following in this case:
background: url('link') no-repeat;

The quotes can stay there, that's more standard compliant, but they aren't really needed.
