I agree I hate Hm's.. I like how in the game Ash Gray you have tools like  a hatchet instead of the HM cut.. I hate how the moves a permanent, the only useful hms are surf, waterfall, and fly all the others are  pointless.

Also, I would not take any HM's from the game just to make it so you have to carry Pokemon with HM's around, or else you would have an overpowered team while traveling.

I think that HM moves should be able to be deleted. Their only appeal (other than surf which is a good move on its own) was that they could be used as many times as you wanted, (not that anyone really wanted to anyway) but now that Black and White brought infinite use TMs all Hms do is force people to use HM slaves.

HMs should be terminated. It's permanent and you can't delete it for another move instead you have to find someone for it but that'll take a while in the story.

I think that HM's should be replaced with tools and items that help you along your journey, like they did in Pokémon Ash Gray. It was a great idea and helped out tons, instead of having an HM slave your Pokémon could still learn all of their original attacks and you can still get to places that would normally require the use of an HM move.
