I didn't think the 2006 Sonic was that bad. Sure, it was glitchy and weird in a couple of places, and sure it loaded slow, but eh. It wasn't a great game, but it was playable. I never understood why people were freaking out about how bad it was. I think people got all upset because they had too big of expectations for Sonic games overall. I had pretty low expectations, so it wasn't that big of a hit for me.

Except for the kiss part. That was just weird. Then again, people who play Sonic the Hedgehog for a story are usually sadly disappointed anyway, right?

Sonic Unleashed HD. It was fun enough to be actually playable, and yes, I am including the werehog stages. It wasn't as bad as Sonic 06. The werehog stages shouldn't be in a Sonic game, though.

I actually really liked shadow the hedgehog when I was a kid. I suppose that counts right? I'm sure that it's much worse now but the nostalgia probably makes it the most tolerable of Sonic's "worst" for me.

The only games in that list that I actively dislike are Sonic '06, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, and Sonic and the Black Knight. The rest range from, as you say, "tolerable", to thoroughly enjoyable. I still love Shadow the Hedgehog, the first Sonic Riders, and Sonic and the Secret Rings, and I love the day levels from both versions of Sonic Unleashed while the night levels are just kind of mediocre. Sonic Heroes is just . . . mediocre, but I did like the fact that the Chaotix team made an appearance, and it had some great music along the same lines as the Adventure games.

For me, it was Shadow the Hedgehog. Beating that game was much more of a challenge (considering which path you chose take. Good, or evil), compared to games like the Sonic Riders & Free Riders. I had fun with them, but after beating the game, there's really nothing left to do. Then with Sonic '06, it was hard for me to follow the game (with all that past/present/future crap because they kept travelling through time), and let's be honest; Sonic '06 made just about everybody hate Silver. And I'm not saying the game was bad, but it wasn't that good either. But games like Black Knight and Unleashed (for any system) were pretty good. In my opinion, I think it gave Sonic a new image, whether it be the savior of Camelot, or the Pack-A-Punch were-hog of the night. But with Shadow, it was great to know that they finally gave Sonic a break, and let Shadow have the spotlight for this one game.

My favorite Sonic game from his "Dark Age" is Sonic Unleashed on PS2 and WII. The game is full of speed and action, and I have TOO much fun "Roading around at the speed of sound" and the Werehog stages actually gave me love for these stages cause' they're full of action for a single mindless button-masher, and The Werehog stages has some very clever platforming in it. YEAH!!!

I didn't really like any of those games, but if I had to pick one it would be Sonic Unleashed. It had decent game play, but I hate the Werehog stages. The idea of a werehog is sort of ridiculous.

shadow the hedgehog doesn't count since you can't play as sonic, but i really liked the games on this list i have played (Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Unleashed (Wii), and Sonic and the Secret Rings) and what the hell is the diffrence between the versions of sonic unleashed?
but i have to say sonic and the black knight is my favorite because of how nostalgic it is to me (it was the first sonic game i've ever owned)

OK, allow me to break this down:

Shadow the Hedgehog: Cheesy story, glitchy game play, and horrible mechanics, I mean why does Shadow need to use a gun?  Nonetheless, this is a guilty pleasure because the replay value is excellent and it gives more depth to Shadow as a character.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006): I admit, the story was way too cliched, but I thought the game play was fun, the music was awesome, and the graphics had potential.  Although, the Elisa kissing Sonic bit really ticked me off.

Sonic Riders: Never played it, but I'll give it a shot.

Sonic and the Secret Rings: Never played it, but it looks decent.

Sonic Unleashed: The night time levels sucked, the combat system in those levels were terrible.  This is another guilty pleasure for me because the music is great and the day time levels were awesome.

Sonic and the Black Knight: "Time to Fight the Knight".  Giving a Sonic game a Zelda-like game play was a bad idea, but the story was decent and graphic look good.

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity: Looks not halfway bad, but I'll give it shot and see how it goes.

I would have to say Sonic 2006 and Shadow the Hedgehog were the best. For Sonic 2006, I must be blind (which is partially true. I need glasses because I'm near sighted), but I've never seen or experienced any of these glitches or bugs people speak of, and I've played the game all the way through.....multiple times. Though I hate how Silver can't hit ANYTHING during the Solaris boss.....maybe that's a bug/glitch.....anywho, as for Shadow the Hedgehog, I think the language use simply because I feel that would be part of Shadow's personality. Same with the gun usage. I feel it would be how Shadow is. Plus the story was neat. Many paths to take and many endings. Though I do still hate those Ark levels.....I get so lost.....

I felt that both Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 pretty much bombed the whole series, but luckily it's bouncing back up with new games.
Those games did have quite a few issues with them like bugs and all.

To me, Sonic Unleashed wasn't that bad. The werewolf levels were bad, but besides that, I enjoyed it the little bit that I played it. I tend to say away from Sonic games now though.

It wasn't that great to me. It had pretty crap games, but they did have a few good ones to play as well. They just couldn't quite get in sync to what made Sonic great in the first place and put it in 3D.

I guess Sonic Unleashed was the best for me. It was different, but in a good way at times.

By far shadow the hedgehog, as much as I don't really think I can call it a "sonic" game it was a fun game to play. Shadow just doesn't care about anything but what he wants so it gave a new perspective to a sonic game in my opinion.

Sonic and the Secret Rings. It's not THAT bad. In fact, it's alright. Also, Shadow the Hedgehog was better than others say.

Sonic Unleashed. Because it was alright during the Day Stages. It was the Night Stages that felt awkward and clumsy.

Well Shadow The Hedgehog was tolerable to me because of the guns and the 2 player mode. Also the memories I had with it were priceless.
