Adventures in the Tropic.

Okay, I bet that a good part of you had a NES... If I'm right, you may have heard of this saga: Adventure Island, made by Hudson soft (the same who made Bomberman) after the success of the 1st. Part, a sequel came up. This sequel had everything that made the previous game succeful, and, some new and original things (such as the Dinos) that made it better. However, after that game. A 3rd part came up... Many said "Hey... This is the same as Adventure Island 2!" yes, it was pretty similar to that one... But, It had a few new things. Wanna know what were those things? Well, just keep reading this review:

Story: Just after rescuing his Girlfriend Tina, and saving the 8 islands from the monsters... Master Higgins thought they finally could live in absolute peace, everything was going as planned. Until, a new menace appeared... This time: Aliens, yes, aliens. Those evil guys from another space kidnapped Tina, also. They are planning to conquer our world with an Army composed of 7 giant Aliens... Once again, Master Higgins must rescue his girlfriend, and Stop the Aliens and their "world domination" plan... That's how Adventure Island 3 begins... (6/10)

Graphics: Let's talk about them: They are pretty similar to the graphics of the previous title... But, at the same time, they aren't similar... How's that? Well, they remind a lot from the 2nd. Game ones. But, they have a new looking... The tonality is different, Pastel tone quite... Besides that, Backgrounds are more complete. Just take a look at the rocks at the coast stages... Enemies also change, on this game, they are drawn in a "Cartoonish" style, thing that fits very well on them. (8/10)

Sound: Music has the same style... Quite Tropical and fitting with the stages. You never get tired of these songs... Catchy and memorable. SFX is still the same as the previous. Nothing special about it... (8/10)

Addictiveness: If you thought the two previous titles were addictive, this one is pretty addictive then... Every stage has his own secrets, challenges and even enemies. You can find some good things, so, better start searching! (7/10)

Depth: This game is, perhaps, the 2nd. Deepest game of the saga (Just after AI 4... Yes, there's a fourth game, exclusive for Japan) This is how you play: The main goal of every stage is get to the goal of the same before the time runs out. Thought the same we find several enemies, with different skills and attacks, that try to stop us... To fight them we have some weapons: the Stone Hammer, the new weapon: A Boomerang, (both act in different ways, take that in count) and the Dinos. Every Dino has his own attack and his own speciality. (the Red Dino can stand on the lava, the Blue doesn't slip on the ice, One can fly, other can swim and the new one can Stand over Quick sands) to avoid running out of time, we must pick the fruit, If we pick 100 of these... We get an Extra Life. At the Stage 8 of every Area, we must fight a Boss. If we beat him, we get to the next area, and so... (8/10)

Difficulty: Big, Difficulty is big... We can find enemies or obstacles near of Cliffs or other traps. As long you keep going, you find new enemies and situations that are more difficult to handle... (8/10)

Final Rating: 8

A pretty decent game... Full of fun and good moments. Very recommendable for have a good time, Just give it the chance and you will see.
