If I had to choose between smoking or drinking I would choose drinking, I seen what the lungs of a cadaver look like in an anatomy class.

I'd choose drinking too, smoking causes more harm to the people around me than drinking does.

But as it stands, I don't, and probably never will, do either of these.

Never would smoke for a couple reasons. One, I would get sick and destroy my insides, and it's like poison. The other reason is because my dad would rip my arms off (no joke).

Drinking so long as it's not heavily. If I'm still able to drink responsibly, then there's not much harm in drinking.

I drink. I don't like smoking. Its nasty. And horrible for you. I love drinking as long as its not excessive. I have fun with it.

I know what you mean when I mostly gave up drinking I was smoking nearly 30 cigs a day, but I quit smoking about six months ago, cold turkey. I will admit  I have had a couple of beers but nothing to the amount I used to drink.

Drinking isn't a bad habit.  In fact there's proof that drinking beer can be healthy in moderation.  It has water, hops, malt, and yeast, all natural products that are healthy.

It's good for the heart and excellent for recovery on long runs and long athletics.

Stockton90 :    I have seen a liver that had come from a person who had consumed a high amount of alcohol in their lives. After seeing and learning about what both smoking and drinking can do to the inside of the body it is scary. I will concede that some forms of alcohol when drunk in moderation do have therapeutic benefits for the body and the mind.

minnowboy1 : I agree. Moderate amounts of beer and red wine can actually be healthy for a person. Experts supposedly claim that a glass of red wine a day can have beneficial effects with the heart, and it also contains antioxidants to fight cancer.

If I had to pick, I would pick drinking. Cigarette's are terrible for you, and could give you cancer. My dad was smoking for 30 or so years and he finally quit a few years ago, my sister smoked to but quit cold turkey when she found out she was pregnant( The baby's healthy). Plus I drink sometimes, like at a party, or at lunch I will usually have a beer or sometimes two. So I wouldn't either ( When you say drinking, do you mean heavy drinking, or just drinking in general), but drinking is a lesser of two evils.

I probably should have given some clarity and said excessive drinking,so I would probably add that although drinking does have its good points, there are some who do not take into account that drinking does slow down thinking and reasoning, and unfortunately some still take risks such as driving.

Well if I really had to choose between them, it would really be drinking because I tend to be relaxed when I drink a beer or two.

Drinking 'cos I don't like the smell of the cigarette. I also rather hang in a nightclub than the outdoor smoking area of a restaurant.
