I'm just making a thread here because I've been working on calling attention to contents for the Sega Pico.

For those who are unfamiliar, the Pico is a Megadrive/Genesis-based piece of hardware by Sega which was marketed as an "educational" gaming platform for little kids (although some of the games really don't fit that mold). It's two particularly interesting bits of novelty it has are the "Touch Tablet" controller input it has, and the "Storybook" cartridge format, which has a unique shape designed to resemble books you can flip the pages in.

Lately, the ROM dumping group Team Europe has lately been producing new ROM dumps of Sega Pico titles from the Europe and Japan regions. You may find these interesting! Besides the occasional major Sega franchise represented, there's a good amount of Japan-exclusive Disney contents, and of course, some surprises, such as Pokemon games! ... and Cutey Honey.

Some Youtube videos to help folks get a better grasp of this;

Playing "Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld" on Pico
A chunk of footage I recorded of "Pocket Monsters Advance Generation: Hiragana Katakana Kakechatta".

Hopefully this thread makes for some good discussion. Because it's kind of a bugger to make a thread and have no replies like what usually becomes of my threads. XP

lol, I personally think "great" is overstating it.

But when I look at the 3DS, and then I look at the Pico, I think "How would the Pico be different if it wasn't marketed to little tykes?"

Can you imagine Mortal Kombat Pico? "Touch the tablet to perform the fatality!"
