I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you are referring to studio's bringing back old game franchises, I think it can be a mixed bag.

If they take the source material and just add new levels and a few new features, while staying true to the source material most people will like it.

When they get too cute and try to add too much to where the game hardly resembles the source material, that's when people tend to get upset with a game.
