Ok... I had requests for a thread like this, lets start be seeing what religion everone is from.

Just to be clear on why this is different from the one in the debate forum.

People's religions in this forum is NOT up for debate by any means.


As for me? I used to be a Baptist (Christian) unill I was mid 13 and something happened.. I just couldn't convince myself there was a god out there. I was kind of an agnostic for a while then slid into atheist.


I think Wicca is a pretty cool religion a humanists and scientologists are neat.

I'm Wiccan.

I have an idea.. you can ask questions about others' religions, if they're curious.. but no "your beliefs are wrong" kind of statements.. mm'kay? <3

I am Episcopal. Which for all you who dont know, this is a sec of the Christian religion.

So what exactly is the difference between Episcopal, Baptist, etc? Why are their different sects of the Christian religion?

ummm that doesn't say much, other than they want other people to convert into Christianity.

There's also Protestant. Which my dad always wanted me to be devouted to. >.<

Protestant is pretty much just every thing except Roman Catholic. Episcopal would be classified as a Protestant Christian religion. I dont know much about the other secs.... each has their own interpretation of the bible, but are pretty much the same.

I'm a Jehovah's Witness, and there are many rumers about us, so please if you hear somthing, and aren't quite shur it's true, ask me befor beliving it.

I have a friend who's Jehova's Witness... but not by choice... =/ She came over to my house to celebrate All Hallow's Eve, and went to another friend's house for Christmas dinner.

Well then she's not reall y considered a Jehovah's Witness

Yeah I know. She doesn't know where to put her faith. She wants to feel like a 'normal' kid who can experience the traditions of old.

Yes that happends alot, usualy the hardest thing about staying a Jehovah's Witness is when it cames to moral things, like sex and drugs and such.

What's the Jehova's Witness views on that stuff, anyway?

John you have forgotten about the Orthodox. They are separate from the Catholics, but not Protestants. THey spilt in 1054 or somewhere around there, a couple hundred years later the protestants spilt from the Catholics. Also John, you mention the Anglican's, so I am guessing that would include the Church of England?

Light Knight, I heard that Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in the Holy Trinity, or something to that effect. Is it true?

From my experience Jehovah's Wittness believe ONLY what's in the bible and do whatever it takes to get the truth from the source instead of relying on christian dogma.

That Jin, is true. We don't folow religious traditions, unless it's inspired by God in the Bible. And we put alot of time in studying it, everything from word translation to the symbolism, and we don't twist it, as maney religions do. And no we don't believe in the trinity, if you want I'll answer why in the bible thread, it's very locical from the bible... I think I did in the old board but oh well.

And to asmwer you Belial, what do we believe? pretty much whatever the bible really says . If really want to know in deatal you'll have to ask me more specificly. (I should of spell checked this)

BUT HEY! this thread is not just about me, what are everone elses views.

heh, I've heard a fair bit about JW's, and I've personally found that their interpretations of the bible are a little far-fetched.... in my opinion....

not that I can name anything specifically.... which doesn't help my case at all .... but yeah.... there are things that JW's believe that I don't find in the Bible.

If it's not in the Bible, than don't follow/believe in it
The Bible says at the very end not to add anything else to the bible.

All you need is the pure un-edited Holy Bible, follow its teachings and practice what it tells you, and your set to go, it's all you need

What did you find JW beleive thats not in the Bible, everything I know we believe I can find in the Bible. So what do you think is not prooven?
