Another thing I get constantly, is that religious people will often tell me that I may be confused or haven't 'woken up' to realize god yet. It's as if they can't accept or wrap their heads around the fact that there are good, honest people whom live happy lives without any need for god. I hold high moral standards, and I try to live my life to help other people; I don't do it for god or because I want recognition, I do it because that is what my heart leads me to do, and what truly makes me happy. It seems as though most religious people try to work that into their own interpretations, by saying that even though I deny god, the presence is still there in my life, and that is what drives me to be good. It's as if they just can't accept the fact that it is possible for righteousness to exist without an entity behind it.

Christians often tell me that I have free-will, and the choice to follow god is left entirely up to me. But if that is true, then what happens if I choose not to follow god, but I am also not evil? If I choose not to follow evil, but I reject god, then according to The Bible, that is an automatic sentence to suffer eternally. I don't choose to suffer eternally, I exercise my right not to make either choice; how do I have free will, if god then makes a choice for me? If god were the type of being to reject me simply because I choose not to follow a path out of not having enough reasoning, I don't think I would want to follow that god, anyway. Dictators demand that people follow them, and if they don't they are punished. Most parents love their children, and accept them whether their children love them or not. According to most major religions, god does not always love and strive with you, which not only provides further proof that I can be righteous without the presence of god, but it would also seem to prove that even the love of a simple human parent could surpass that of an all-powerful god- especially if they can forgive and not damn their children, even when those children choose never to accept them.

The simple solution to why we are loathed, lies within simple human nature. It is the same scenario of a poor kid being bullied by rich kids on a playground. People often fear that which they do not understand, and instead of trying to understand it, they reject it. Really, you can't blame them; it can often be chalked up to instinct in most species of animals with any form of intelligence. That just comes to show how much we really are no different than any other capable species on the planet.

I do not dis-like Atheists, I just disagree with their view.
As for Christianity not being the most populous American Religion, I must say that you are right. It may have been for a few hundred or so years, but most of the World is not Christian.
Just for Clarity:
Separation of Church and State Means that the Church leaves political talking outside the door, it has no place behind the pulpit etc.
On the Government's side it means they should not tell anyone, you can't pray (Or less drastic) you can't do  whatever. It means the same thing for Muslims, Christians, and many others.
