Well, I didn't take the time as of yet to see if this ROM allows it, but for the actual game L and R attempts to run from battle. Have you tried those buttons?

I'm playing the ROM on here, and not the actual game. I have tried those buttons (including the arrow buttons!) and it doesn't work. Thanks anyway!

Let's see... I just figured it out! Pressing D and C simultaneously works! (for anyone else wanting to know who may stumble upon this thread in the future)

It might be useful to say that running away in this game makes you drop some Gil (money) ...! So, running away might not always be the best way. Especially when you notice yourself having 0 Gil while trying to take a bed at a inn
