We aren't going to see people buring PS3 games anytime soon. Blu Ray drives cost like $1500 right now, a burner would undoubtably cost quite a bit more.

You gotta remember Sony is making the drive special for the PS3, and there's no telling how much the PS3 actually costs to make. I believe 360 uses DVD's of some kind, and the Wii is using DVD sized discs, but I don't know what format, It's probably some anti-pirating format.
