Awesome choice Robert, squires are excellent guitars for learning on. I have been playing guitar for about 10 years now and I am entirely self taught. There is absolutely tons of resources on the internet. Wont be long before you are a pro-guitarist showin off for the lady's haha.

I recently bought a Jackson SLAT3-6 Soloist Archtop Electric Guitar (metallic black) its got wider frets for bustin out the solos

And picked up a really neat amp a Spider-4 75w, it has so many settings there is no way I could hook that many pedals up to an amp without losing my mind!

Also my name is Robert too, so that officially makes us awesome
