Hello. I noticed Cassy and leggy are doing this, and since neither was around during my "glory days", I might as well give a little perspective. Trust me, this is not the first time. It won't be the last. But we can recover from it.

Actually, there are times I could talk of before my joining, to some extent, from what I've seen in staff threads, but that can be mentioned later.

I joined at the beginning of January 2010. This was my first message board ever, and I was just looking for Kirby games actually. I joined under the alias bignatealpha (changed it later because it just felt too long ), and only posted my first post to make my newbie thread. You can view it here:

This was before Notifications, so I had no idea anyone had replied until weeks after they did, but yeah.

I posted a bit, mainly in the video games forum. That's where I got into my first encounter with the one known as DarkHyren. He and I got into a bit of an argument about the issue of nudity in video games. Yeah, I'm a bit better at supporting my arguments nowadays, although I wouldn't take back my views on that . I'd say that thread sums up how our relationship ended, in respectful disagreement. In that thread I also met xfighter1138, and while he and I got along at times, I never really agreed with his no-holds-barred method of criticizing people.
During these early days I came to meet septembern, hypermonkey, and Crono. Of those three only sept is still actively posting, but between the four of us, the old Shout Box, and the fun threads, there have been many fun conversations. I've even joined sept's own forum, although I regret to say that I'm not active there anymore. I really ought to check it out again .
So I kept posting, and from reading the RGR forum, I began to envy trusted users, because they got special forums where they could test the SNES and N64 games . But I eventually did become trusted towards the end of the month, and was quite surprised that anyone noticed me . I was also picked for RGR Staff on February 9, and was delighted to find I had been suggested to Davideo7 as a good pick, by none other than xfighter himself. Everything was going perfectly, I was happily living the dream.
Yeah, and then I wasn't. But it wasn't bad, I simply had to step down from RGR Staff in March :/. So, life goes on...
And then the drama happens. It's not as full blown with rumors as the current troubles which I don't care to repeat, but it is also in the dev forum, for all the numerous trusted+ members to see.
Suffice it to say that some things David said without intention of insult were taken as insults by Solehite, and she and DH got upset and left. DH came back by May, but Solehite remained gone until now. Everything's better about that now, and wounds are healed... something we can do with our current situation.
Again, life goes on, the board goes through some drastic improvements, and we get to the summer. I find myself back on RGR Staff and then even promoted to Local with my great friend alexanyways, as well as the ever-friendly noelia, and the now-absent BreakDown.
During this time I grew to think of geeogree as my ons-site mentor. He and I had been on good terms before, but with my promotion to staff, I came under his specific charge and he sorta became my modding mentor. I look up to geeo and I thank him for that.
Next up come Bobbynibbles and Hoochman. The former is an atheist who was very fond of Christian bashing and was banned multiple times over that. He's gotten better now, but he used to be a real pain. The latter I actually had more trouble with, though. He was a Christian user who was fond of short posts that added nothing to conversation and of throwing tantrums when banned. He's now perma-banned. That was quite taxing as a mod .
It was also during this time that I met some more good users too, though, namely play4fun and tRIUNE, two strong Christian users who I look up to for solid debates and good advice. I'm honored to call them my brothers in Christ.
It was also during this time that, unfortunately, my respect for DarkHyren began to waver. We had some issues over him trying to control the Christian/Conservative forum, which I was at the time mod of, and really coming off as arrogant. I took a break from the site for a week, came back, and tried to start anew.
I'll admit I made some mistakes as mod, but all in all, I felt I was doing good.
Then I had to step down for reasons involving my personal life. In August, I sent David a PM saying I had talked with my parents and had to step down and take a break from Vizzed. And take a break I did, not returning until late fall except for a few posts and some RGR fun. At this point, several new users such as leggy and cassy had come to the board and become prominent, and I came back as the new guy for the most part . Thankfully though, my old friends alexanyways, vizwiz123, play4fun, tRIUNE, and big fat cat were still around, and of course the ever-present geeo. I've since returned to the fold, rented my own forum, and lived through the drama spewing right now, both from leggy/DH and JazzCoon/Annette. It isn't pretty, but we can overcome it.
The best example is the one I haven't mentioned yet, that happened before my time. I know enough to tell you the basics of what happened, but that's enough to show you that Vizzed Board can overcome whatever obstacles are thrown at us if we just work together.
There was a time when several prominent members of the board left and formed a new board, AntiReality. There was quite a bit of Vizzed bashing, and Vizzed accounts were banned. But through it all, the board pushed through. After the fact, we're ready to forgive. We've proven we can overcome the drama, forgive the fugitives, and start fresh afterwards. That's what we need to do now, and that's what we always can and will do.

I don't know the specifics of the legacyme3 vs. DarkHyren troubles, only that leggy said something that hurt DH, DH has left, and leggy is very regretful. What I do know is that apologies have been offered, and forgiveness is what's needed. The rest of us can ask Solehite to communicate our feelings to him and tell him we want him back.

I'm summoning my best friends and mentors on Vizzed here to thank you for making it one of the best experiences I could have on the internet.

Davideo7 : I'm still as shocked as ever that you were kind enough to take this 14-year-old kid (now 15) under your wing and allow me on as RGR Staff and Local Mod, and to be a good person to talk to. I don't know how I got your attention, but thanks for it anyway .
Didowe : You... I don't know how to describe it. You're not really my "friend", but you're no enemy either, and I loathe the term frenemy. But you have definitely helped me with my patience, that's for sure . I've finally started respecting you now, I guess, and I want to apologize for my prior snappiness with you.

...and that is all I really have to say. Dang, this took forever to write, but I got it done, and now I can say that I have given my story, my perspective, and my advice. I'll post with y'all later, I got a basketball game to watch (my brother's team). Th-th-th-th-that's all, folks!

Wow, I forgot you were here when that other drama happened. Unfortunately while we're creatures of emotion there will be disputes. But I agree vizzed will get through them.
Also I imagine that other members on vizzed who have DH's email are passing things on as well as myself.

I think I should write my own, it will probably will be the most inspiring for newbies as they will know that they can still be good members even after the drama they had or the super spammy noob they were.

Didowe : It was taking so long to write that I had to leave for my brother's basketball game and my church's youth-run Valentines Day banquet, so I couldn't preview and see if it would be easy to read .

bigNATE : I miss DH as much as you do...he finally had the nerve to ban jmc, a feat no mere mortal could do...lol. All you can do is hope.

Vizzed is growing so fast and things tend to happen quickly, unfortunately drama when it happens seems to get worst very quickly as well. On the internet, people don't hold back unfortunately but we as humans should be able to overcome silly problems and learn to forgive and leave things in the past. If more people followed bigNATE's example and the example of many others who have done this same thing, we would definitely overcome, if not avoid, all problems.

haha yeah.... I would have to break it up into chunks of time....

just thinking about it is daunting.

And I like reading all these perspectives. Being as different as we are, it is sometimes hard to forget we all have different views on the same thing.

I myself feel happier now that I got it all on the table, and I have been rather stressless because I read other's posts and feel like there is a more unified feeling reading these.

I doubt any of us actually have the time to write them out..... and to be honest I don't want to relive a lot of what happened over the last 6 years. Sure there has been a lot of good but there has been a lot of bad too.

well, I am considering writing one.... it would be interesting to try and remember a lot of the older stuff. The vast majority of members know nothing about the board pre-2009.

I'm already writing it. I forgot how big of a gap my time spent on Vizzed has had. Not sure how much I'll write and how much detail you'll all see.... but it'll be good. 1100 words so far

geeogree : Now you're writing one too? Awesome! I know I've stated this before, but if I knew my story/perspective thread would have become so popular that other people would start writing them, I would've written mine a long time ago.

So anyways, yeah. It's fun seeing everyone's point-of-view.
